  1. What do you get when you cross: 3 ropes with A bell and a A proper ring girl and 2 competing bands and 2 referees and an MC? I can't figure it out!!
  2. I just got confirmation than an aspiring stripper / poledancer is going to be our ring girl for the evening... incase you needed another reason to come to this ace gig! (We're also busting out THREE brand new tunes)
  3. I'm 99% sure you won't get in to it for this coming year. There's hundreds of applications for a limited number of places in secondary and primary, and with secondary you're talking about smaller fractions per course you wish to teach. As far as I'm aware the interviews were all a few months back too. I'd also try and get some classroom experience first, because it's not much like you expact it to be.
  4. You've heard wrong my friend, I've been going for a couple of months now and I'd rate it pretty highly (and that's not including me). Of course there's going to be new folk who aren't quite as funny but everyone's got to start somewhere.
  5. Unknown to me until just a few months ago Snafu has a weekly Open Mic night every Tuesday. It's mostly local comedians trying out new material, but sometimes they have guest compares and comedians. First time I went I thought it'd be pretty tosh, but it was actually really funny (although some folk are much better than others). It's 3 entry, or 2 for students / if you sign up to the website and get the password each week. Definately a decent way to spend a Tuesday night. C o m e d y - C a p e r s . . . Comedy Portal . . . 6. At Aberdeen University everything is marked on a scale from 1-20, with each mark being 5%. A 1st is 90-100% (18-20), 2.1 is 75-85% (15-17) 2.2 is 60-70% (12-15) and so on. As far as I'm aware RGU mark between a 1 and 6 with a 6 being a 1st, 5 a 2.1, 4 a 2.2 etc.
  7. You're all just jealous because they're "cool and entertaining!"
  8. 2:1 in Politics & International Relations. Yas min!
  9. It's called a 'GUNT'. Not quite your gut, but too high to be a cunt, the gunt sits peacefully between these two more famous regions.
  10. Samsung SGH-D600 (Or a 900 without the touch-sensitive buttons). Used to have a nokia and never wanted to change but got this phone as a present. Nowhere near the top of the range, but it's shit-hot, sturdy, reliable, and has a couple of good games to play on the crapper.
  11. Don't bother 'funnying' up your set. We're going straight for the pop-tune jugular! Itchy butthole shal be our only comical number. You guy's will be on the ropes before you know it! <Insert more boxing jibe talk>
  12. A solid drummer's good, but you'd need a certain level of skill, and more importantly, imagination. No point in having a steady drummer that's scared to go round the kit. Bill Stevenson (All/Descendents/Black Flag) is definately my favourite drummer because of those skillz!
  13. More dangerous than pilots & loggers, it's definately the most dangerous job in America; at least my mortality rate. The Show's alright (certainly better than American Chopper), but I'd rather have Bear Grylls or the Mythbusters any day!
  14. Look at the muscles (and moustashe) on our guy!!! We're clearly going to win this match!

  16. Last week, around London, a 20-something year old was kidnapped, missing for six days and found dead 2 days ago, she made it to the 5th / 6th page of most newspapers.
  17. Can't believe I forgot the immortal... 'Yaldy'.
  18. They sound alright, guessing when playing live they'd have a much more raw sound?! Definately seem like being worthy of putting on somewhere.
  19. I managed the other day, but you had to hit the 'new reply' button and do it that way instead of quick posting, where you get the invalid link page...
  20. I don't know whether it was the sound guy, the shape of Snafu, the big speakers all around the venue, or that there were hundreds of people in the room, but the sound last night was terrible. Stood down at the front for the Holy Folks and at the sound desk - for a comparison - during the Edgar Prais but both sets were pretty much ruined by the poor sound mix (too loud, far too much bass, very muddy). Even the CDs being played before/between/after the bands sounded dodgy... It was a travesty because both bands put in solid performances to a packed club.
