  1. ... a good local band to play a gig with Onion Terror? Not too similar, not too different.
  2. This is pretty pants news. Although it's been ages since I last caught the 44s, they were always a top band to watch! No chance of one last gig or mini-tour? I'd (in 100% seriousness) kill 26 midgets to hear anything from Martin Millers Minatures Part 1 on stage again.
  3. One OK song. One PR friendly front-woman (this week anyway). A waste of loads of NME's ink. 2 hairy armpits. Next week's news in a week.
  4. WHY CAN'T WE GIVE REPUTATION IN THE WASTELAND?!?!?
  5. Cowk - Be sick Dock - Bum Spaiver - Zipper Ahynd - Behind Canny - Easy Bapit - Broken Thrawn - Tempremental
  6. Thanks to everyone that came, and even more so to those that stayed and caught our set. 295.40 was raised at the doors, result! Stu "The Jpeg" Dyker, our new bassist, played really well too. We loved this gig. Next date is with the Holy Folks (and open to suggestions for another 1 or 2 supports too) at the tunnels on the 25th of June, so mark it up!
  7. It's the ultimate irony when people end up having to tolerate the intolerant!
  8. "This kid denies being an emo, but his friends say he is one and the proof is etched on his arms." Runaway Ridge Tanner on state TV, then running away. LOL. Someone find his myspace page. LOL LOL. HAHAHAHA - This is better than Brass Eye & The Day Today!!!
  9. The irony of this whole thing is that the absolutely stupid scale of this 'search', and the global media frenzy, will have done nothing but to make the kidnappers panic and act irrationally. As has already been mentioned, it would have only lasted a few days in the media cycle if 'madee' was a working class kid. Much like the Sherridan sex scandals of last year, it's been whipped up for far too long, and is starting to grate at my patience. This might sound totally stupid to some people but the best thing they could have offered, instead of millions of pounds worth of bounty, would have been to garuntee amnesty for the kidnappers, perhaps with counselling or something, because at least there'd actually be a decent chance in seeing her safe return.
  10. "Louis Walsh, you signed westlife, they're ok, but you're an asshole!" That's got to be one of the best rap-quotes in a long time...
  11. I've had a beringher pedal for a few months and had no problems whatsoever (which was surprising after reading a number of pants reviews about the quality of their build), I'd easilly buy a heap more at a third of the price of a boss one. Providing that you're not going to go jumping full-force on the thing, you should get your money out of a plastic pedal.
  12. That's not exactly the spirit though, the ball will be the last chance you'll have to hang out, and get drunk, with a most of your mates from uni before they'll probably head back home and and up visiting once a year if you're lucky. The entire graduation 'experience' - from the ceremony to the robes - is a total rip-off, but it's something that I'm guessing you would regret not doing in a couple of years down the line...
  13. Meduim steaks and seafood are where it's at. Surf and turf is the prefered combo.
  14. Archies: Cheap The Moorings: Cheap Aberdeen Union: Cheap (especially mid-week) Justice Mill: Cheap Tripple Kirks/Exodus: Cheap RGU Union: Cheap Priory: CHeap Midweek Hogs Head: Reasonable Tilted Wig: Reasonable Prince Of Wales: Reasonable Blackfriers: Reasonable Wild Boar: Reasonable Siberia: Reasonable Snafu: Depends on the night Enigma: Depends on the night Liquid: Depends on the night Tiger: Expensive Pearl Lounge: Expensive Paramount: Expensive Espionage: Expensive That about covers the places I've been recently. It's not just a price list, but an overall price / quality / atmosphere / clientele rating.
  15. Saw it in the Belmont yesterday, and it's a pretty decent film. Good story, especially if you're in to your crime/thriller films. The one thing that stood out for me is the acting, all the main characters are absolutely superb; Gyllenghall and Rufallo especially proving that they're good enough to be proper leading men & Downy Jr playing his typecast 'crazy guy'. The only problem for me was that it war far too long, at just under 3 hours, it seems pretty dragged out. Despite this it remains interesting and looks really retro. 8/10
  16. I'm also going to throw in Pedro Almodovar, although a couple of his films are off-beat they're all brilliant stories and, unlike most directors, his new stuff's just as good - if now better - than his first few films. Remember, it's only directors that you think EVERY film they've made is great.
  17. Not strictly all hammer films, but the 'vipco' and to a lesser extent 'dead of the night' DVDs have some fairly decent releases. The bonus also being that they're only a few bucks each, although some of them are so bad they're good: The Nostril Picker, Rats...
  18. I'd also like to claim my fame in this brilliant birthday club.
  19. Surely the organic camp should start moaning now and get the rennet back in it...
  20. 'Friends of Balnagask' was set up by the friends and family of residents in a local care center for people with down syndrome and autism. The charity helps out the families by providing them with equipment that makes it easier to look after the patients (special cards... etc).
