Captain America
Lot of chatter about Lallana to Liverpool today. I think it'd be a pretty bad move for him, he's the man where he is. If he goes there he may end up spending a lot of time on the bench...
Captain America
Oh Also BBC have confirmed that Spurs have approached Ajax over Frank De Boer. Wonder if Bergkamp would go with him if he went there? I wouldn't think so but he might. With all the ex players running Ajax these days I think he might just stay there. Soda Jerk
Javier Zanetti is retiring at the end of the season. He hasn't aged a day since he was 18. Edited April 29, 2014 by Joda Serk

Paranoid Android
Real couldn't have done any better this half but it's a shame that the contest was effectively ended so early. Both sides are still playing decent stuff though so I'll keep watching.
Soda Jerk
Despite the contest being over, it's a great game. Real are playing the act-the-cunt card pretty early, and Bayern are losing their shit over it. Every time a Madrid player goes down, a Bayern player is trying to drag him back up. I hope Madrid keep trolling Bayern. Hopefully there's a red card in this. Ribery's slap to the face was so pathetic. What a tosser. Not the result I wanted though. I was hoping for a Bayern/Atleti final.
Paranoid Android
Me too but an all Madrid final could be a great occasion. However I think Chelsea will get through tomorrow.
Moose
Not a result anyone was expecting! I was very confused when Ramos scored his second. Madrid were magnificent and it shouldn't be that surprising with the players they have. Didn't know Modric was so good, obviously he was great at Spurs, but he seems genuinely world class now. Up there with Iniesta.
Soda Jerk
Modric has been amazing this season. Madrid fans didn't take to him last year, and I don't think Mourinho saw him as any more than a squad player. His ball retention is so good. I can't remember him ever losing it, and always manages to get a pass away when he's swarmed.
Paranoid Android
I think he's more than won over the fans this season, I wouldn't be surprised if he was their player of the season.
Soda Jerk
It's great when players get loads of stick, and then stick up two fingers back at the critics by being totally awesome. Modric has done just that. Tom Cleverley will be doing it next season. Or maybe the season after. Or probably not ever.

ca_gere
I still feel like a giddy 10 year old when a new football advert comes out. That one's good. Favourite footie ad of all time? The park life one and the airport one are the two that spring to mind. Cafu's cheeky face kills me every time.
Soda Jerk
Definitely Brazil in the airport. I was always mega excited whenever it came on. Undoubtedly the finest moment of Denilson's career.
ca_gere
Oh yeah... I just realised it's Denilson not Cafu that does the wee cheeky grin.
Skacel
I like the latest one because it reminds me of being a kid during the '94 World Cup. If we were having a kick about we'd always say we were Baggio or Romario or someone like that. I was probably Hadgi or Stoichkov.

Lemonade
I was aware of the 1986 World Cup (and collected the Panini stickers of course), but I didn't really watch it. 1990 is the first one I remember really watching. I had a World Cup 1990 Coca Cola soccerball, and drinking glasses with that weird football mascot on it. I remember hearing Nessum Dorma every day and I think Pavarotti sang it at the final. I remember fireworks at the final. Watching Cameroon beat Argentina in the opener and Roger Milla's celebration. Running home from school to watch Scotland v Costa Rica. The special Rab C Nesbitt World Cup episode. Toto Schillachi being lauded as the greatest player in the world. Gazza's tears in the semi final. Good times man. Good fucking times. Murrr
I was always Asprilla When we played at break/lunch time in primary school we'd always decide which team we were gonna be, then pick players. You couldn't pick the same as someone else, because that meant you stunk, or had germs. Nightmare. I remember one time we were Liverpool, and I wanted to play up front, so I chose Sean Dundee. Not Owen, not Fowler... Sean fucking Dundee. Speaks volumes about my ambition.
