I think so, thing The Balaclava Bar has the same sort of thing.

Gads.

I'm sure someone said it's handy for folk coming off the boats and stupid times of night and stuff, but, if you're coming off a boat or coming home for the first time in a while and your first port of call is to have a pint, you need to take a good hard look at your life.

Wanting to relax and socialise after being stuck on a boat for a couple of weeks is a pretty shitty thing eh?

So you're saying that in order to relax and socialise people need to drink? Nahh. Pubs shouldn't be open at that time in the morning.

Working 9-5 or whatever and getting the weekend off is one thing, but some of these guys work up to 2-3 months straight.I think they deserve a pint regardless of what time of day it is.

So people that work nightshift/early hours of morning are not allowed to got for a drink after they finish work?

Remember the Fish Market starts at something stupid like 2/3 am and finishes about 7:30am, the workers there aren't allowed to go for a pint and catch up with friends like people that work 9-5?

Just because you have decided not to drink, I bet you still go out at night and meet up with friends, they are just doing the same, but their night, is your morning.

I just thinks it's daft having that type of pub, with certain type of regulars, located so closely to a school.

And these people are going to get days off. When you work off shore you don't just come back for a night. I don't see what the big rush to get a drink down your throat is.

It's mostly used by right jakey looking fucks. Also, it's open at 7/8am. With a school JUST down the road. It's horrible.

Have you been in? Also define jakey? What about people such as nurses, they not allowed to have a quiet pint before their next big fuck off shift? Who are you to say when people should be allowed a drink? When I used to work behind a bar after I finished my shift at 4 in the morning (on Fridays i was also doing my 9-5) I had a drink, is that wrong of me? Tit.

No. Definitely not. What a stupid idea.

hehe, i know what you meant really.

And no, i just don't understand why people are in such a rush for a pint.

I'm just off the boat, I won't go home and sleep in my own bed, I won't drop off my bags at home, I won't wait a day before having a proper day off to catch up with pals. No, I'll head to the pub.

That's pretty shite IMO.

Plus, the whole socializing and catching up thing is shite, the only people who are going to be with you in that pub are the people you've spend that last few weeks with. Oh how much you must have missed.

How do you work that one out then?

OK some examples of trouble please? I find those drunks are quite polite, I'd rather go drinking there than Belmont Street. Much safer.

there always screaming at each other, i've seen drug deals go down and i always feel like I'm on an obstacle course trying to dodge them. Plus, like i said in the pet hate thread, as funny as it was to see, there's quite often spew there. you can't sit on a bench when it's sunny because it's got some alky on it. it's horrible.

Why? What about off licenses or licensed corner shops? What about corner shops that have porn mags or even the sun/ Nuts and also sell cigarettes?

that's completely different. people fall out of pubs drunk. that's not on right near a school. people don't fall out of off licenses drunk, or wanking over porn mags. completely different and you know it.

Well I live two seconds away and I've never seen much trouble there at all, much worse places in town. People don't really tend to fall out of pubs drunk, it just isn't common. People do go in to offys pished sometimes so down with that sort of thing then. The porn mags can still be seen by innocent eyes Jake.

Yes, people get drunk in pubs. But not everyone who sets foot in a pub falls out the door rat-arsed. If I just got home from a month on a boat at 7am I'd be fucking happy to get some breakfast and have a pint and a game of pool, rather than going home and looking at facebook.

You say you'd wanna sleep in your own bed, but at that time you'll have just woken up. The wasters and fuckwits you're complaining about aren't necesarily the same guys who get home from a boat and want to have a bit of fun.

While I understand your grievance with anti-social behaviour, I'd rather they got an early start and could all black out during working hours so I don't have to deal with them going about my business.

xx
