Mr Owl PhD
Not in any order, something a bit like:Rachael Dadd 'After the Ant Fight'Jeffrey Lewis and the Junkyard 'Em Are I'Wye Oak 'The Knot'Sky Larkin 'The Golden Spike'Slow Club 'Yeah So'Teacups 'Forest Fiction'Cate Le Bon 'Me oh My'Alasdair Roberts 'Spoils'Alela Diane 'To Be Still'Fever Ray 'Fever Ray'Not sure which is best. I've probably listened to Teacups the most this year, but their album only came out the other week. 'Spoils' is pretty good.

kirkt
Working on a Dream at number 1? God, I wasn't taken by it at all. A couple of good songs, but I thought it was mostly the Boss treading water.By no means a classic but a really great pop album with some absolutely brilliant tracks on it (Life Itself, The Wrestler, The Last Carnival) and shows how many different styles he can do. Couple of dodgy tracks but flows really well as an album.

Sam 45
A bit off topic but i've decided 'I Became a Prostitue' by The Twilight Sad is my no.1 track of the year. If i was to attempt to compile an album list 'Forget The Night Ahead' would be either 1 or 2 aside 'Beacons' by Ohbijou.
Soda Jerk
I find it pretty hard to make "Best of insert year" lists because, although I listen to a lot of music that is new to me, I don't keep a track of whether it was released this year or in the nineties or whatever...I'm the same, purely because I spend more time discovering bands from years gone by than I do finding new bands. It's a bit easier to bump into an old band because they were somehow connected to another band you like. Labelmates, sharing members, etc.If it was a list of "Best records you heard for the first time this year", my top 10 would be alot different. JamieC
Actually, Post Electric Blues would be in mine too. Fine return to form for Idlewild.aye, i thought it wis a cracking album though i dont think idlewild have done a bad album, just albums perhaps not as good when viewed against 100 broken windows, which is biblicly good.
