Scootray
You're just jealous that you didn't think of such a money-spinning idea.I've been 'collecting' money for "Save the Children" for years.... Haha, that's true.

Metarie
Seems to be a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.The money, I believe will be returned to people who request it back and otherwise will be used to help campaign for the venue being used for another purpose. Mr Owl PhD
the P&J are saying it might still be saved with Aberdeen Performing Arts (the group set up to run HM Theatre, Music Hall and the box office) as the front runner to take over the running of it:this is north scotland - news, entertainment, jobs, homes and carsBBC NEWS | Scotland | North East/N Isles | Fresh hope offered to Lemon Tree
framheim
and now saved apparently:BBC NEWS | Scotland | North East/N Isles | Agreement could save Lemon Treeso can someone explain to me what the difference here is? seems to be a very similar setup to before. Scootray
The council obviously think that the APA can run a business better than The Lemon Tree Ltd.

blackisler
The council obviously think that the APA can run a business better than The Lemon Tree Ltd.Pretty easy to do so seeing as the council give APA 1.4 million in grants each year. Metarie
Yeah the APA thing is probably going to work...because they've been given more funding than the Lemon Tree ever was and using even a fraction of it means that when the Tree comes back it's going to have more funding than ever.I'm not sure how the gig thing is going to work out seeing as all the gigs that were going to be there have been moved elsewhere. It's going to take a long time to build up a good list of acts to play over the coming months. The place probably won't be on it's feet til Autumn. Hmm...not really sure how I feel about it to be honest.

Stichman
Pretty easy to do so seeing as the council give APA 1.4 million in grants each year. But - as has been discussed - money doesn't equal a succesful business now, does it?
Elizabeth
I donated some monies, but it confused the hell out of me when I got an e-mail from paypal saying they'd rejected my payment and then I got another one saying they got it?Maybe I have no idea how paypal works (which is entirely possible).Either way; s'good it's been saved... if it has been saved. Rachie
But - as has been discussed - money doesn't equal a succesful business now, does it?No but in this case it means a chance for the 'Tree to try again and succeed which is all folk ever really wanted.Great news and I hope it's successful. And if the damn gigs that get put on actually get promoted I'll certainly go along
