I'd put Matt Bellamy, all of Tool and David Bowie in there for sure. Trent Reznor is indeed a must and I think I'll nominate Devin Townsend before Hog does ;)

I think Mark Everett (or "E") from the Eels is a fantastic songwriter, although I haven't heard much from their new album. I also really like Psychid's songwriting ability. I think the band "Cake" also write fantastic songs.

So:

-Eels

-Psychid

-Cake

I was under the impression that Ian Brown didn't write anything.

HAHA:O

Yes I did mean Steven Patrick Morrissey.

And Brown wrote a large proportion of the Roses material (at least gets credit for most) but to me its his solo work that sets him apart as a lyricist, it beats anything off of second coming.

Ya fucker! you bet me too it:cheers:

Devin Townsend- He writes the most far out fucked up music ranging from waltzs to Death Metal. How many musicians layer the keyboard sound 100 times?

Tom Waits- just because!!

James Hetfield- He wrote Master of Puppets, almost by himself

Dave Mustaine- The guy is a riff machine

Pete Steele- Mellow, Satyrical music with dark undertones

Ulver- unique and wide ranging ambient dark shit!

Frantic Bleep- go to www.theendrecords.com to find out why!!!
