Alan Cynic
I'm with Gridlock on this one......I wouldn't want my songs manipulated by somebody else. However if I was forced at gunpoint I'd go with the Witchseason team of Joe Boyd (producer) and John Wood (engineer).

Guest davetherave
Personally I'd choose either Brian Eno, Flood or Bob Clearmountain. Though with most musicians (especially solo electronic types) now having home studios with all the usual devices, PC, plug ins etc, the role of producer is merging with sound engineer and composer. IMHO if the sound is in your head and you know how to manipulate the technology, you should be able to achieve it without any help.always expect the unexpectedwww.dave33.btinternet.co.uk

Marillionboy
Well done for giving Kimsey the thumbs up Stu and not saying Steve Wilson! What's Steve Lillywhite doing these days? He was a one trick pony but the definition of a man of the times and no one else could have got The Banshees etc sound so right.I'd chuck in a mention for Pete Brown here! Blair Quik
Do i get a slap if I say Bob Rock? The Quik Black Album.....oh yeah! Wouldn't mind Rob Cavallo or Jerry Finn. And I'd have a video done by Darren Doane. Sorry if I spelled that wrong.
Chris
Do i get a slap if I say Bob Rock? you get stabbed. repeatedly. with a blunt knife.remember he is also responsible for St Anger. 1 great album, 2 average ones and a godawful racket = one shit producer. Blair Quik
Well yeah, but let's not forget that the producer can't be totally blamed here. I mean, Pennywise worked with Brett Gurewitz on one of their records and it sounds shite, but that was down to their guitar player.Oh, Brett G wouldn't be a bad choice either.
