  1. DBX patchbays (2 of them). 25 each. Light use, mostly plugging stuff in, in a smoke-free studio environment where their every whim was met by our lovely support team. Well fed, fully functional. Neutrick patchbays, 2 of them as well, 25 each. As above, but these have more of a German Accent than the DBX's which sound to me as if they were from Alabama. Light use only. They don't answer the phone but you will enjoy plugging stuff into these. Moog Parametric EQ. Great for guitar (or accordion if you had to), rack mountable. Well used but all there. Probably from about 1978. 50. 120/240 volt operation,in case you're thinking of running off to L.A. SKB 12-space road cases (2 of them). Basically brand new, light use in home studio. 100 each, o.b.o. Will deliver locally, as in somewhere local. Empty, and big enough that you can hear an echo. Whirlwind direct box that goes between your amp and a speaker. Gives you a line out when you just gotta have one. 10. New in box and never used, because I won't turn down enough to use this. Seemed like a good idea at the time, though. A sensible person would get some real use from this.... Obligatory pictures- For Sale pictures by sonhenry - Photobucket
  2. Harmony Monterrey- Plywood archtop guitar, fat neck, great painted-on flame and a nice sunburst (they don't do the fake flame this well anymore). No case, not even a cardboard one. 150 o.b.o. Gibson L-50 Archtop acoustic guitar, approx 1940. Spruce top, mahogany neck, replaced tuners, banner headstock with 'Only Gibson is Good enough' on the scroll. Stable seam crack on the back. Old plywood case in rough shape. Fat neck, nice tone. 1,000. I know that sounds like a lot of money, but before you hit the reply button to tell me off, it's about 1/2 what you'd pay from someone else that doesn't like you as much as I do, so for this price I get to be nasty if you tell me what a jerk I am, ok? Silvertone F-67, 3 pickup guitar. About as thick as an ES-335, great sounding D'Armond pickups, bridge one is a little weak. Pro refret, new tuners. Funky SKB case. 250. Strange Japanese guitar, has push-buttons that look like they're from an from an old blender. Set up for slide, sounds like Houndog Taylor's guitar. 50. Impress all your friends with this oddball. It's the only one in Aberdeen,I promise... Warmoth parts guitar- walnut strat body, maple neck, grovers. You can have it with 3 strat pups and a black guard, or like you see it here with a bridge humbucker. Missing a chip by the bridge. Make me an offer, I'm tired of looking at it and I might just turn it into a planter or a lamp otherwise. A lamp, that's it. Be part of the rescue squad, it's much to nice to be connected to a 40 watt bulb for the rest of it's life. Great neck, btw. The guitar, I mean. Supro double-neck lap steel, probably 1940's (just a rough guess). Original tuners, Mother-of-toilet seat covering in great shape, no case. 1 original pickup and one replaced with a strat pickup. 300. Stella plywood acoustic guitar. It's either 3/4 size or it smoked when it was newer. Another great slide guitar or one for busking on union street if you want a guitar AND a club. 25. It's vintage plywood, sounds so much better than the crap they're making with plywood these days. Vintage plywood, so you know it's cooler than the real thing. Yeah, pictures here: For Sale pictures by sonhenry - Photobucket
  3. Marshall 1936 2x12 cab. Road worn, still sounds great. 150. Don't need it, going to use a 4x12 so I can really piss off the guys in my band and every sound guy in Scotland. Be sensible, buy this one and keep your friends and bandmates happy. Has big wheels for anyone that's an old fart like me that likes to ride it down Belmont Street. Fender Bassman head (1970 or so). Sounds great, fresh tubes and gone through so it's ready to gig. Somewhere along the way some idiot drilled two holes in the bottom to get at the tubes. Doesn't make it sound any different, and you can't see them unless you turn it over to check the gender like you would with a puppy. 110 volt, I'll give you a step-down tranny too- 300. Otherwise it's off to Uni in the fall to star in a punk band, drink too much and puke on someone's shoes, as played by the other guitar player in my family. 4. yeah prices are going up- the pound is falling against the dollar, so new american branded stuff is going to get more expensive. Plus, Fender is putting out a 30% price increase. Brace yourself for the near future, but it won't last....
  5. dude, based on this post? When you get this thing together get the word out, I'll be there for sure...
  6. Has she answered any of you? Looks like the diary is full up and has been for some time....
  7. Didn't they do a double bill with Led Sleptin at the moorings last month?
  8. Aw, man, you're way too modest! Better start working on that attitude, and I'm going to track down who this band 'yawn' is, are they a vapors cover band?
  9. Do you have soundclips somewhere?
  10. hey, we've got a long way to go to catch up to Alan, so looks like I'll be buying pints (or doubles for that matter) to close the gap. But who is this band 'yawn' we're losing to as well?
  11. Well, with 2 tubes taken out, that twin will sound almost like my pro reverb. It'll be at drummonds tonight (thursday) if you want to get a feel for it. If you've got a quiet drummer, the deluxe reverb is a great choice. For a hard-hitting one though, it's like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
  12. If the deluxe reverb is the tone you want, then who cares how good a deal the twin may be? 6V6s and 6L6's are totally different sounding. FWIW, the deluxe reverb is my take at the best club amp when you can mike it through a PA- loud enough to be a great stage monitor, not so loud that the sound guys get pissed off and turn off your vocal monitor to get you to turn down... Late 70's Master volume twins are loud and clean. They can sound thin at low volumes, they're designed to be played loud- this is a 100 watt amp after all. Can you tell it's not a favorite of mine? I did have an early MV twin years ago, and it kept up with loud drummers and a shitty PA. But I also pulled 2 power tubes to cut the power...
  13. Interesting..... I have 2 of them, one that's dead stock, and the other that was modded by analogman in the states. BIG difference between the 2. The modded one is more touch-sensitive, and just bigger sounding. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.
  14. After you see les paul, head over to new jersey. Like here--- Hoboken Vintage Guitars Hoboken, NJ Jim's pretty cool. Bought a lap steel from him a while back (big surprise, huh?). Good prices and not a lot of bullshit like in the big city.
  15. AND GO SEE LES PAUL!!!!!! and post photos. You gotta see the man, he' what, 90? Probably your only chance to shake his hand....
  16. Manny's for sure. It's on West 48th Street between 6th & 7th Avenue. Also, check out 30-street (Welcome to 30th Street Guitars) and (if you've got the time) check these out.... 17. You need a matched quad of 6l6's, the ones modeled after the RCA blackplates are ideal, the old svetlanta's and the thick-bottom sovteks sound pretty good in fenders if you can find them. There should be a tube chart in the cab that'll tell you what preamp tubes you need. Sovteks here again are fine, but try and find a good 12AT7 for the reverb driver tube. The sovtek's I've had didn't last long, so the NOS Phillips ones aren't bad. You won't have any problem getting clean tones out of that amp, in fact if you don't you'll know it needs service....
  18. you sure it was really ice? might have been one of those chunks of blue ice that falls from the growler on an airplane. I've heard of them breaking windows. those guys must have had one hell of a case of frostbite, which I suppose they'll recognize when their ass turns black and falls off! Ahhhh, another quiet night at the moorings.....
  19. weather like this a big-ass water pistol will inflict some serious misery on anyone standing outside. spray them in the crotch, add embarassment to discomfort and you've got a winner. legal too.....
  20. DUDE! Call me, I need a power amp......
  21. Hey, define old for me? 80's? 70's? Older?
  22. Fralin will underwind them if you want them to. A 10% underwind will probably get you what you want.
  23. Hahahahahahaha....... sorry. that made me smile, blues and candles.
