  1. Anvil, in June...metal on metal! Very tight, but the drumming was truly immense.
  2. Just throw a rock at 1977-85 and you'll find something cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17siKWdOzA0 Even 28 years later I have no idea what the fuck this is all about, quite frankly genius bizarre rubbish, go Healyster! Unbelievable impact on the 10 year old brain...
  3. Thought I'd get pipped to this one, but no... And the Durannies greatest moment occurs in their post-imperial phase, Elektrosynthtastik... And this lil ckeeky biz... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5SDIs3oIx4
  4. I have been on a voyage of Krautrock discovery in the last 2 years, so much of it is ludicrously ace. Second all the love for Amon Duul II is bass-rifftastic.Took a while for Faust to click, and then they did, So Far is my fave, and this early critique of consumerism is 70s countercultural foolery in the best way. The first Tangerine Dream album is full of fuzz guitar madness like , fuzzzzzzz. And Timothy Leary's appearence (with others) in the Swiss acid sessions for , side 1 Space finally nails that difficult Cosmic Blues concept, link is to loooong video of album, you have been warned.Harmonia are great as well, Deluxe starts the 80s ahead of schedule, Immer Weider
  5. That's an awesome room full of crap, the very best kind of crap.
  6. And I say thank you for the darkening, my eyes aren't stinging.
  7. I second Guitar Guitar and Merchant City in the area, C&C Music on Otago Street in West End is good too, just by Kelvinbridge Tube, Strung Out is a 2nd hander of varying quality next to Mono also.
  8. Get yer bandcamps oot then... The Law Of Fives | Mondragon
  9. Watched PCU, US college Animal House for the 90s vibe, all right, and George Clinton and Funkadelic were in it, so, ace, and Kaboom, it seemed pretty guff at the start, but it was well sinister by the end, so that'll do, and the Witch was funny, as was the Messiah.
  10. I meant that I doubted that 'Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone' had aged well, not Bladerunner, but hey, maybe S:AITFZ is a the classic now, having not seen it since 1986, I can't remember.
  11. Doubt it's aged well. Unlike the novels and short stories of Philip K. Dick, why don't they just do '...High Castle' and have done with it. or 'Ubik'. Maybe the prequel will have all that shit Rutger made up for his speech. It's still a dubious idea. I love a tttiiiiiimmmmmee Streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttcccchhhhhhhhheeeedddddddddd lllllllllllooooooop (you get the idea)
  12. Wot, no 'Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone'?
  13. "Get down awn yo muthafukin kneeez..." Yeah, that version was ace, some of their album has stood up well, Kool Roc Bass particularly, it is a micro-genre template all of its own.
  14. Played a gig like that near Kirriemuir once, slept in a Yurt, ace.
  15. We're* all just freaked out a bit because we don't want anything to happen that could spoil that nice Mr (Trumpety) Trump's Golf course. *Me, from a distance
  16. Blah blah is that dude still making that odd racket etc Yes I am First 200 free, so get in before 2015.
  17. Fuckin Creedence, eh They would have been one of the best cover bands ever, if John Fogerty hadn't been a genius songwriter himself.
  18. I'm sure there are a few boggin' Mex Fenders, but out of the 2 that I've met, both are nice, my Classic 50s Strat, and a friend's Cyclone. I doubt that there are any inherent reason why Mexicans should make less able CNC operators, so most of the differentials must be in parts and quality control. Factories must take a while to bed in, I'm sure Ensenada must be getting there or thereabout.
