  1. Munich is a superb city, will be going there myself for a week next month to sample Oktoberfest for the first time (have been 4 times before, but never during the festival). Berlin's cooler than Munich and the people are *much* better looking, and a bit friendlier. German's are incredibly friendly when they're in Germany. At a push, I'd say Toronto's my favourite city that isn't Edinburgh, closely followed by Munich and New York, with honourable mentions for Berlin and Budapest.
  2. I stand corrected. Doesn't change the original point though. Regardless' date=' George Burley/Phil Anderton have once again shown that their ambitions are considerably higher than us Hearts fans have any right to expect: [url']http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/heart_of_midlothian/4742317.stm and looks like Webster will be staying.
  3. Like Ian Murray was a Hibs fan through and through? Like Kenny Miller was a Hibs fan through and through? Like Paul Ritchie was a Hearts fan through and through? Like Gavin Rae was a Dundee fan through and through? Money talks' date=' and at the moment we're spending a lot more of it than most... I don't actually think there's any doubt about us this season. Last season we were piss poor (probably the worst I've seen in the last 7 or 8 seasons), and we were still only 8 points off yourselves at the end of the season. This season, we've brought in a much higher calibre of player, and they seem to have gelled straight from the off. As I said before, Jankauskas will score for fun in the SPL. Aberdeen's only signing of any note - and granted, it's an excellent signing - is Barry Nicholson. Still got the usual no prolific striker problem, I'd wager. In sober hindsight, neither can I. I suspect Burley would be looking to bring someone of the same or better quality in from abroad, for considerably less money.
  4. Sounds fine to me. What do you honestly need beyond a bed when you're away somewhere? On another note, he looks a bit foreign, he's a bit olive-skinned... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3230936.stm Get the fucker!
  5. Why so funny? 1m inwards, and we're already spending money...
  6. And Robbie Neilson... (tip: We're supposed to have a right-sided defender coming in from either PSV or Inter Milan, might be time for an early substitution)
  7. My tip for 4th spot again, right behind (in no particular order) Rangers, Celtic and the mighty JTs.
  8. If this isn't the face and glasses of a kiddie fiddler... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4730613.stm
  9. I suspect if you replace the word "husband" with "rapist" you might be a bit closer. It's all right there in the lyrics...
  10. Why is it *NEVER* Adam Fuckface from Maroon 5 that dies??? Why??? Where is the justice (although this dude's band do have a terrible name)???
  11. Presumably it doesn't have the execrable Cary Elwes in it. Would have to rank highly in a worst actors of all time poll.
  12. I'm sure I've recommended it before, but I doubt anyone paid me any attention...Try and download a copy of Midfield General - Midfielding (needs to be the album version), which is a pretty poor song made brilliant by having a nonsense Noel Fielding monologue over the top.
  13. Next week's episode of The Mighty Boosh is available to watch on the BBC website at the mo', just in case you were interested... http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/
  14. Cool! That site has Sam and Max at the top. Quality game, completely simplistic, but brilliantly funny. Was annoying how there was a certain bit that you got to which if something or other was the wrong colour, you couldn't go any further and had to start again. Fortunately, it only took about an hour to get from one end of the game to the other...
  15. My NW-HD5 just arrived today. Got the silver one and it looks *beautiful*. Photos really don't do it justice. Have ripped everything as 320k MP3s so far and the sound quality (with a different set of headphones) is as good as any portable device I've heard. Will give the ATRACs a try and see if there's any noticeable deterioration (it's supposed to be better at lower kbps). SonicStage doesn't seem that bad - having heard bad things, was expecting the worst - think that maybe it's evolved from the dog it once was. Stated battery life for MP3s is 30 hours. Complaints: 1. The screen *doesn't* tip round automatically. It's only when you switch it off and back on again that it aligns itself 2. People on the Gracenote CDDB are apparently incapable of distinguishing between a track name and a band name on mix albums (not the players fault obviously).
  16. I use these folks: http://www.freedom2surf.net/adsl/homeuser.php Customer service is excellent, it's only gone down twice in about 15 months, and it looks an awful lot like I can soon quadruple the speed of my current connection for a mere 3 a month.
  17. I'll be at the march on Saturday, which should pass off quietly. The one I'm worried about is the anti-capitalist protest which is on Monday. This is the one that has kicked off at previous G8 summits, and joy of joys, it starts literally outside my front door. The one on Wednesday's going to be a nightmare as well, even if only half of the million people expected turn up. Edinburgh's a tiny city, and will struggle badly to cope with this.
