  1. Were the directors importing drugs to pay for the players wages or something?
  2. Just finished watching Das Experiment. What a brilliantly clever take on what is fast becoming a very tired genre (albeit, it's from 2001, so was probably a wee bit ahead of the game). With this, Goodbye Lenin!, The Edukators and Downfall, I'd have to say that German films of late are head and shoulders above anything that's been spewed off the Hollywood production line. Lest we forget, the Coen Brothers last two films were Intolerable Cruelty and The Ladykillers
  3. Yeah, was looking at the lineup with a great deal of envy a couple of weeks back, but already had two trips away booked, so couldn't possibly have afforded it.
  4. I was going to do one of now (thankfully) defunct joke-hop wasters, Pimpz of Change, but unfortunately there are no TIMMAY body parts.
  5. They are a fucking piss poor 21st century INXS for bland, soulless, ball-less people who don't like music. But they're not as bad as Maroon 5.
  6. Couldn't go to the Academy gig due to my mate (inconsiderately) getting married that day, but will definitely be there at the T on the Fringe gig. A few of the songs sounded familiar, so it may be that they've been playing them live for a couple of years now, or may be from the demos my mate has for PITB.
  7. Haven't had much chance to listen to this until this weekend, wasn't too sure about it at first, but on repeat listenings, it's definitely a mighty return to form for the 3. Starts off with Last Train To Mashville, which is a bit too Power In The Blood-y, but from then on is proper, 3-style country. Highlights are Terra Firma Cowboy Blues, Have You Seen Bruce Richard Reynolds? (the Johnny Cash song Johnny Cash never sang) and How Can I Protect You - the most pop song they've done since Exile On Main Street. Like Johnny Cash? Go buy.
  8. Well, unsurprisingly I went. What a piss poor setlist. I'd built myself up to them play good song after good song once they'd stopped playing the crap off the last two albums, they played Orange Crush (brilliant), then started playing shite off the last two albums again (admittedly interspersed with the odd great song). Someone really needs to tell them their last two albums were balls. That setlist posted earlier practically made the decision I was going for me. Wish I'd gone to the Green now.
  9. Ich bin sechs-und-zwanzig jahren alt, aber da war nicht Deutsch, da war Franzsich.
  10. Non, c'est n'est pas vrai. Mon chien est trop mignon pour les mots. J'ai une visage comme un sac de cl
  11. Damn it! I *need* to buy a passport, but that setlist looks amazing. And my mate has a spare ticket. FUCK CAKES
  12. You're not allowed to join this thread if a) you are still at school learning French b) you've been taught any French in the last 5 years c) you're French or have been brought up to speak French from a young age. Let me start: Je m'appelle Alasdair. J'habite a Edimbourg. J'ai un chien.
  13. I'd like to meet Medichi. But I'm pretty sure he'd be disappointing.
  14. I find Paris Hilton endlessly fascinating, in the same way I find *all* whores fascinating. I wouldn't want to sleep with one, but it's an interesting way of life. I also find Nazis fascinating in the same way...
  15. Version 10 of Media Player. First time I've used it actually, so it's probably my fault....
  16. Couldn't get it to work through Windows Media Player, but downloaded iTunes and it's come through a treat. Quality's as good as I've heard on one of these streaming deeleys
  17. 1. I am currently exactly 12557.07 in debt. 2. I am allergic to water (really). 3. I am the sort of person that receives books about the Commandant of Nazi extermination camp Treblinka for their birthday.
  18. A very fine film indeed. I used to have a copy of it on DVD, but I lent it to someone and have no idea what happened to it. Poor Jack Lemmon.
  19. Live at San Quentin is a supremely brilliant album, better than Folsom in my opinion. That is all.
