  1. Why aren't we on this mystical "white" list?? Bastards. Can I lodge a written complaint??
  2. I heard he was going to burst out Marsh's chest, in frighteningly bloody Alien styleee...
  3. Oh yes people, promises to be a mega gig! Young horror punks Infection get better and better each time, come get ya fixxx! Atomgevitter are a supergroup from the members of Fighting Cougars and Los Destructos... Officially approved by thurisaz as "better than Vomitus"!! Lowtech promise helpings of garage punk with a German twist.... And then there's us, who need no introduction Plus, we're off to Birmingham the day after to play a gig down there. Should be fun fun fun!
  4. I agreed with Betamax. 20/hr is pretty cheap, actually! It's not like Tom is lining his pockets now, is it?! The banks put their charges up, the taxman takes more and more, and the council and landlords up their charges. What else can he do apart from pass on the cost? If he was making enough, he'd absorb it. Tom is not out to screw people over, quite the opposite in fact. Recording is an art, the final results are as dependant on the band and thier knowledge and input as it is on the basic studio and gear. On the whole, I find that the quality of recordings favours Toms, but with FHR a lot more happens there and experience does count! But there are exceptions, the Deadloss EP was a good result. I know that the man behind the desk is a big key too, Dr Deleto did a fantastic job with us on Self-Made Monsters and the proof is in the listening.
  5. You might chortle at the bullshit being spouted in the trial, but the final verdict itself and the way the trial has gone has serious implications for those of the alternative persuasion, I think. If the kid is found guilty of murder, then the media will have a frenzy on Marilyn Manson and all similar "goth" things that might happen to influence kids in how they behave. It may be used as the start of some kind of backlash or restrictions being bought into place, and that would be very worrying.
  6. Happy New Year fellow bretheren. Saw Sandy Gu as I staggered up King Street, can't even recall what was said. UP THE ATOM!
  7. It's count Duckula. That's got to be worth a high mark!! But then, it's Rico, so..... 7/10.
  8. Dunno about ours! Recorded at Toms in about 4 takes totally live! With a pissed-up Sid who half fell over playing his solo and kept going. It was mad, I tell thee.
  9. Was at Mizz Hell and Ghastly Ghoulmore's flat from about 7pm on the eve, couple of their friends who were up from doon sooth came along, as did Alby Filthypact and his sister. Got suitably Jack'd up until about 11, then we all went along to Dr Drakes for the rest of the night. Had a great laugh there, lots of ace people in salubrious states (Dr Nullmouse, etc), some cheap champagne on the fine establishment, insulted the barstaff a lot, drank more, etc, etc. Then we staggered home via La Lombardo's at the old Drakes to get chips and cheese, meeting the lovely *alex* by chance on the way up King St. Probably rambled drunkly to her for a bit, somehow managed to remember her flat number for a party the following night, then decided all cabbies are wankers as none with lights on would stop and we had to walk all the way back to Seaton... Grrr. Then did it all again the following night, he he.
  10. Anyone else bought it? I'd not rushed to buy it because I'd heard somewhere or other than it wasn't a patch on their other records. Which was silly, really, seeing as I've heard that about so many releases and then loved them after finally buying them. Bought it the other day, and I have to say it's pretty kick-ass. It's not as AC/DC esque as the last one was, which is maybe why I heard it getting slated. But I actually think it's a better record overall, more "them". They've kept the ballsy r'n'r, but gone back to their roots a little in terms of riffs and structure. Highlight for me is track 4, which you also get the video and extras for on the DVD disc. In the words of Borat : "I like!!"
  11. No, what's "wrong" here is holding up someones ILLNESS for the purposes of public scrutiny. Now, you might argue the person in question has already done this by publishing it online on livejournal, but at the same time you have to realise that people like that person are in a pretty bad situation and need help, not ridicule. Can you imagine what it must be like to have your life driven by calorie counting and an obsession with your weight and food intake?? When I read things like the snippet above, I only wish I could help these people out, that's all.
  12. I don't sing. Merely provide the odd growl/howl here or there, because I *know* I can't sing. If, on the other hand, that is directed at Ash's vocal, then I know he'd appreciate it if you went to Retro Rebels to tell him in person. He's not the worlds greatest singer at times, but he can hold his own and is not without any ability. He also recognises that he can improve, so is taking vocal coaching at Tom's. I might not be able to sing myself, but I can tell the difference between when someone can basically sing, and plainly can't.
  13. I really don't think Rollins gives two shits what anyone else thinks about him. That's what I like most. I think he's doing what he loves to do, and that's great. People change... You stand still, you waste your life.
