  1. Have you tried ebay? I picked my one up on there a couple of years ago for not too much. Quite a cool pedal. I prefer a lot of the old discontinued boss distortion pedals to the ones that are part of the current line. Ones like the HM 2, HM 3, MZ 2, XT 2 and so on.
  2. Robert Fripp's solo in the Brian Eno track St. Elmo's Fire.
  3. Hearing Anastasia on Spar Radio tonight reminded me how much I hate that woman.
  4. That guy Daniel Powter. I've only heard "Bad Day" but I'm going to dismiss the rest of his back catalogue as a load of shit based on that one track.

    Pet Hates!

They should send some staff to work at the Sainsburys at Berryden. Every time I am in there the queues are huge due to only half the check outs being manned.
  6. I'd like to add Jamiroquai to the list. Jay Kay can fuck off with his terrible hats, fleeces and band logo based on a picture of him wearing a stupid hat. Also, not forgetting his bands godawful music.
  7. Could it maybe be your capo? If its pressing the strings too hard against the fretboard it will make the guitar sound out of tune.
  8. Can anyone recommend me a Chinese take away that does a good sweet and sour and battered chicken? I really liked the sweet and sour they did at Noodle House on Rose Street but when I went tonight there was a sign on the door saying they are closed until further notice. I like the sauce to be sweet and not too thick. I've found most of the other take aways sweet and sour sauces to be more bitter than sweet or sour. Any recommendations?
  9. Far definitely are. There are some making of videos on the blog on their myspace which are pretty cool. Really looking forward to it! Far's MySpace Blog | Sunny Day Real Estate haven't confirmed anything about a new album, but they are back together and have been writing new material. I'm maybe being a bit optimistic for an album this year, but I hope we get a new one from them at some point. I've been listening to Diary and LP2 a lot recently which has reminded me how good they are.
  10. The Unwinding Hours, Far and Deftones for me. Hoping for a new Sunny Day Real Estate album as well.
  11. Has anyone have any experience with these? From reading up on them they are meant to be like a solid state jcm 800 or something. I know it won't sound as nice as a valve amp but as far as solid state heads go are they any good?
  12. Jack Johnson. I like the idea of him getting back from a day of surfing to find his beach hut burnt to the ground.
  13. Post pictures of albums you think have terrible artwork.
  14. Sort of in order but not quite... Bat For Lashes - Two Suns The Twilight Sad - Forget the Night Ahead Johnny Foreigner - Grace and the Bigger Picture Morrissey - Years of Refusal Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Its Blitz Shield Your Eyes - Shield Em Jonsi & Alex - Riceboy Sleeps The Flaming Lips - Embryonic The Joy Formidable - A Balloon Called Moaning Jeniferever - Spring Tides
  15. Any word on the 3rd album? Recently picked up their first album which I'm enjoying at the moment.
  16. That Jeniferever album cover is actually much nicer in the flesh. The colours are different and the circles are not as prominent. That picture does make it look fucking rank though!
  17. If only that was the case! I've not heard The Cosmos Rocks but I'm guessing it contains some of the worst music ever recorded.

    Pet Hates!

Facebook pages for venues/organisations/any page set up to provide information rather than a personal profile that are set to private. Today I have tried to look at the profiles for the Tunnels, Drummonds and Aberdeen Curfew but I have been unable to do so due to this.
  19. What club nights are on at the Tunnels these days? Had a look on their website but nothing was listed and I'm guessing that there are nights running at the weekend?
  20. I've had a set of rotosound flatwounds on one of my basses for nearly 9 years and they are still going strong. The tension is quite high but I like my strings like that.
  21. Yeah the burgers are amazing. Had a particularly good one one that had a slice of black pudding in it as well as the burger. Although last time I went (about two weeks ago) they said they were without a chef. So I'm a bit worried that the burgers will not be as amazing once they find a new one.
  22. In no order and I've probably missed quite a few out - Isis - Oceanic Aereogramme - A Story In White Bat For Lashes - Two Suns Sigur Ros - ( ) Red House Painters - Old Ramon (recording in the late 90s but released in 2001) Battles - Atlas Fugazi - The Argument Mogwai - Mr Beast The Cure - The Cure Deatch Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism New End Original - Thriller Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place Onelinedrawing - The Volunteers Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones The Decemberists - Picaresque
  23. Anyone know if these are any good? They are a bit like the Tiny Terror but with two channels and 30 watts instead of 15. Would that and a 2x12 cab be loud enough to gig with? Or would I be better getting something like a Peavey Valveking 212? Looking for a valve amp that won't break the bank.
