  1. looks good. I'm starting to get back in the swing of going to gigs and am planning on propping up the drakes bar many weekends over the summer.
  2. the needles were playing drummonds at midnight, they were ace we all went along after the drakes gig which was finished by 10:30. So all in all I saw 4 great bands (caught Le Reno Amps at drummonds as well) for a fiver. Which isn't bad going really. Just wish bar prices were as reasonable...
  3. De Rosa were pretty good but Das Organisation were superb. They played the 3 songs from the forthcoming EP and they sounded brilliant, the 15 minute improv jam was ace as well. Just a pity you could count the paying crowd on one hand.

cayto were ace, god is love rules. Deadloss were superb as always and Festr were a good banter ridden end to the night.
  5. I'm all for bands giving away demos. It's far more useful than trying to sell them at a fiver a pop and will attract more fans. But don't just do it at random, target who you're giving them to (ie people who are going to listen to it and talk about it) and you'll find your audience grow at the next gig. The lemon tree pay you 50 quid for a gig, that's a fair few blank cd's you can buy. Obviously it's all relative, and you wouldn't reguarly give away CDs that were costing you hundreds to record and copy. If you're spending 200 quid in studio time you'd be as well spend the money on a nice package and sell the result at gigs and try and cover some of your costs. But if you're just doing a quick 2 or 3 tracks for fifty quid or so then give the damn things away for free. Between 4 people the costs don't add up to much and it's well worth it in the long run.
  6. bump. We already have two guitarists I'm afraid. What we need is a drummer and a bassist to get things started.
  7. lithium don't exist anymore as far as I'm aware.

    dedalus

The Dedalus tracks on the EP sound fantastic. They always seem to play great at the Lemon Tree as well so it should be a great night.
  9. as Ian said there's not much point in taking anything to a one-off gig to fix guitars and pedals other than spare strings and batteries. anything else broke during a set, chances are it would take longer than your set time to fix. Better option is to bring spares that you can switch between.
  10. I'd say there were about 11 people there. not including band members. it was a good gig.
  11. The aubl article is great. Although I'm not sure aobut the bit that goes: Makes it sound like we didn't just make it up on the spot...
  12. Amazing what you find on the interweb: http://www.forcedexposure.com/artists/dedalus.html
  13. I thought it was a great night. Tar where fantastic and it was great to see them live one more time. Sucioperno were ace, some fantastic song there. And The Cuts were great as well, aside from a few technical problems. Didn't really pay attention to the Simon Gall band and I Spike weren't my thing at all, good banter though. I tihnk the main problem with Fudgenights is the timing. Having a bands on so late midweek is begging for a low attendance.

Totally agree, if you have a nice guitar, a nice amp but a lump of shite in the middle then all you get at the end is the lump of shite.
  15. I tihnk it's how you express those opinions that make people see them as negative.
  16. last goodbye - Jeff Buckley
  17. I only mentioned quik to point out that dave hadn't said anything about either of your bands yet you felt you had to attack his band to illustrate your point. As Dave points out it was a very lazy way to get involved in the discussion and hardly constructive. Dave made a general point about how he felt about hardcore in general over the last few years. Yet you appeared to take this as yet another attack on MMW and the Metalcore community, immediately adopted a battle stance and prepared to repel borders.
  18. Always liked ESP guitars. 3 of my all time favourite bands have used them (Metallica, Deftones, Ugly Kid Joe) and I'm lucky enough to have one that I really enjoy playing.
