I had an Argos acoustic once and it was horrible, really bloody awful. But is probably alright for learning on I suppose. If you have a little more to spend R&B have a good range of budget acoustics and electro-acoustics. Go along and try some out see what you like.

ma camerons isn't an old man's pub. it's been a student haunt for years, with an old man's snug. Fantastic pub though, if a bit pricey these days. you'll also be wanting to check out dr drakes on shiprow (walk up towards castlegate until you get to the lighthouse cinema and then walk down that street).

yeah everyone goes out underage. I certainly did on many occasions. but it shouldn't be too easy for them, the odd crackdown does good I reckon, under 18s shouldn't assume they'll get in places and you don't want to have a reputation as an underage haven.

various pubs and clubs in aberdeen have been banning baseball caps to try and prevent trouble. If a fight breaks out or something else happens baseball caps can make it hard to identify the culprit on cctv, so they just do a blanket ban on them instead. seems like a good idea to me, it's rude to wear a hat indoors anyway..

I use 1.14mm dunlop 500s but the best picks I've used are the pickboy graphite ones (black with a hash leaf on them). They're quite thin, rock hard and sharp. Just can't get them that often though.

I thought the police supplied a list of suggested IDs to accept (including current examples of the student ones) to all the clubs. I could be wrong though. I think only accepting passports is a bad idea. It's a very important document and unless you're crossing an international border you shouldn't need it. Clubs should accept citizen cards, prove it cards (maybe they're the same thing, I dunno) and whatever schemes people are advised to sign up for to prove their age without carrying a passport.

Moshulu hasn't gone downhill in the last few weeks. It's exactly the same as it always was, bar some minor changes. It's been hot lately but what do you expect? It's been a record breaking summer remember for temperatures. It's not the Palace, but frankly that's a good thing. For all my memories of the palace and the many years I went there it wasn't a great club. It was the people and the staff that made it good and you'll find that most of them are in moshulu these days. And moshulu doesn't have a sticky floor, flooding problems, beer that makes you physically sick due to it's taste or paul may DJing. Speaking of which apart from fridays when Ross Djs the nights are have improved tenfold musically now there are different DJs on different nights unlike the palace which was dominated by Paul "minidisc" May. Look at what you actually have in moshulu, and instead of just moaning like the whiney little cunt you are and insulting everyone who actually quite likes it, think of something constructive to say or fuck off.

I've never seen much trouble in moshulu either. I suppose as long as the dress code is applied with a lot of common sense it's not really a big deal.
