  2. yes I did, I bought the CD from him at the lemon tree. I went along not having a clue what to expect after being given a very vague description of his music from my brother who asked me if I wanted to go. turned out his music was rather fantastic.
  3. kyuss - welcome to sky valley danzig Idlewild - 100 broken windows nomad am compilation alisdair roberts - farewell sorrow
  4. I was going to go but I was at a work thing. Shame to hear. I remember when fudge started and people went every month no matter who was playing.
  5. fair point, you probably have just about finished it. you've certainly had long enough
  6. RS are trade only as far as I'm aware.
  7. yeah like you expect us to believe you've actually written any of it...
  8. I'd love to go but I'm on call for work and won't get a mobile signal in moshulu. arsebiscuits.
  9. the headliners were shit. eric euan and the gloria flaw were superb.
  10. That was our second ever gig. I just realised while thinking about this that our first gig was supporting Subsistence at ye Olde Drakes (exactly a week prior to the quik gig). And our final gig was with Subsistence at the new drakes. Funny how things work out...

    Smoking Ban

really if you can't sit through a film without having a cigarette then you really should think about cutting down. I'm planning on quitting smoking in the very near future, just formulating a plan of attack to ensure I give myself the best chance of being free of the damn things for good.
  12. that'll be Chris Carrol. And he is indeed a fantastic guitar player.
  13. Indigo Flow is an email fanzine which has been on the go for about 6 years now. It gets sent out to lots and lots of people but whether they all read it, I dunno. It's soon to turn into a more normal web based fanzine I think as it's getting too large to mail out every month.
  14. Nice to see the Deadloss name getting around. Saw a pretty good review of the E.P in this months Indigo Flow mailout: Deadloss Superstar - Are You Ready To Die For... devoted.to/deadloss | ++++ A band at the forefront of the highly active Aberdeen music scene (which, as far as I can tell from reading Fudge Fanzine, is the most active and exciting scene in the UK at the moment). The CD opens on Wall Of Skin, which manages to encompass Darkness-style falsetto vocals, a hip hop vibe and New York Hardcore all in one. Then Draw The Line starts up sounding like Alabama 3, all harmonicas, slide guitar and cod-Texan accents, before going all Rollins Band on the chorus. The rest of the CD (3 more tracks: D.N.R., In Tranquillo Mors and Stars) carries on in a similarly schizophrenic fashion but the band manage to pull it off, without this ever seeming like some weird compilation. Brilliant. (AM)
  15. a few weeks ago I was in Edinburgh and saw a poster for a similar scheme. you phone up and they send someone round on a folding scooter which fits in a car boot. He drives you home in your own car then fucks off on the scooter again.
  16. I have had clear and valid excuses every time valhella is on. Anyway public of Aberdeen, do as I say, not as I do. Go to VALHELLA!
  17. but valhella is FREEEEEEEEEE. so there's no risk in checking it out is there? even if you just treat it as somewhere to continue drinking where they play the rockingest music.
  18. I won't 'cause I don't DJ at valhella, merely spread the good word on behalf of Dave and Rory. But if I did DJ I would definitely play Ugly Kid Joe. You could always chance your luck and bring along a UKJ cd on the night and give it to dave to play.
  19. Stick around after Aconite Thrill for the enlightened sounds of VALHELLA! Brought to you by your friendly DJs Dave and Rory. You can enter for free after 11pm till close, and watch in awe as they spin a supreme selection of relaxing ditties for your personal enjoyment. All in the comfort of the wonderful Dr Drakes watering hole and salon of sin. That's VALHELLA this saturday at Dr Drakes from 11pm. FREE ENTRY!
  20. and if you stick around after the gig you'll be faced with the might of [doom]VALHELLA![/doom]
  21. dedalus were awesome on saturday. They really hit the ground running after their short break. Fantastic stuff. The needles were ace as ever, made our drunken group very happy and set the mood for the remainder of the night (much drinking and dancing).
  22. ah well, can't remember why I thought they were from somewhere else. Doesn't matter, they were fantastic anyway. After last night's sterling drunken tomfoolery from a certain Greig Robertson I've just remember that I'd love to see Halcion Daze get back together.
  23. A superb night that just got better as it went on, and on, and on... (last bands going on at midnight during the week isn't the best idea in my opinion). First time I've seen My Minds Weapon and they were impressive. Nice and tight and the songs were polished. Only criticisms being that they don't seem to have put their own stamp on it yet. To me it just sounded too much like From Autumn to Ashes/Funeral For A Friend/Any Other Post-Hardcore band. But as a starting point and something for the band to build on it was pretty good. Need to let Jamesy scream more though, the first song was ace. We Become Less were fucking ace as always, for all the pointless talk on here about who'd be better between them and weapon there really wasn't much of a contest. WBL are a different class. But they've had time to get there and there's no reason why MMW couldn't be as good as WBL in time. It's a shame Eric Euan had to go on so late, I think many people that left would've been impressed by them. Another great set that shows you don't have to have the distortion on 10 all the time to have power and emotion in your songs. Although in the Euan's case it probably helps when you have two great singers in the band. Great night. And if one thing came out of it's that you should just let the music do the talking. none of the bands that played last night need to shout the odds about how good they are, the music does that for them.
  24. Dedalus (nominated for best newcomer and best of the rest in this years fudge awards) return to the live fold this saturday at the lemon tree as part of the Funhouse. Just thought I'd post the good news as there was a thread or two a while ago wondering where they'd gone. Can't remember the exact line up but I think Hail Ceaser! and The Needles are playing.
