  1. yup, great gig. agree about sucioperro, thought they were better in moshulu. Laeto and SEA were great though.
  2. avoid argos guitars. really. either buy second hand or go to r&b or bruce millers and try their chea acoustics and buy what you like.
  3. see Logan's earlier post, they do exactly that.

surprising. I thought you were asking about 20 too much.
  5. Dedalus/Politik split. Heavy Vol 2 (home made cd le peep gave me) aaaand Alisdair Roberts - Farewell To sorrow in the car cause I feel like shit and wanted to relax coming home from work.
  6. Guitars: ESP Ltd hybrid-300 (fantastic guitar, needs better pickups though) Ibanez SA160QM Freshman Acoustic Amps: Park 10w practice amp (10 years old still going strong) Laney HCM120R (solid gig machine) Been playing guitar for almost 10 years. There isn't a best thing I can play as I only really play covers to warm up at home, prefer to write my own stuff as it's more interesting to me.
  7. I'm currently on my 8th listen since buying the CD on saturday night. The Dedalus tracks are really some of the best sounding songs I've ever heard by a local act. I especially love seconds. And yes I may be slightly biased but I've always viewed Dedalus with a very critical eye (as Dave will no doubt testify). They've visibly improved with every singly gig they've played (well, apart from that gig in the back room of moshulu, but they can't have everything their own way). The politk tracks are pretty fucking good as well.
  8. I'm starting to side with Ross, this whole thing has to be a wind up. It must be. It doesn't make any sense otherwise. Do you even read the posts or do you just pick out random words to put in your replies?
  9. well the lemon tree was ace last night. although I was a little bit pissed by the time Dedalus came on. Pretty sure they were great. The EP is fantastic, both the Dedalus and Politk tracks sound superb.
  10. the second song that band had was quite good. Additionally the last song Contra played was ace.
  11. my all time favourite would have to be The Needles - Teenage Bomb. Worthy also rans are: Nero - Oak, Monkey Song, Girls With Cellos Deadloss - Houston, Draw The Line, Stars Dedalus - Almost Parallel, Burn Eric Euan - I Paphoo, Trapdoor... Maple - Diesal, Dangerous Boy I was going to list more but thought I'd limit myself to bands that are still around.
  12. but it's not wrong! It's not musical fascism at all. Why can't you see that a shop is a business and has to cater to the majority of it's customers, not the minority? Read back through the thread, all the posts that you didn't make. It's been stated time and time again why the shops play what they play and why continuing this discussion is pointless. You're just arguing in circles. As frosty suggests I think I'll leave you to chase your tail now.
  13. I like the fact Rune is deliberately ignoring the fact his initial statement has been rubbished by someone who's worked in both HMV and One-Up and played metal (by his definition or not, it doesn't matter, metal is metal) in both. Instead he's picking up on points on the boundary of this discussion in the vain attempt at reassuring himself he's still right.
  14. Mississippi Fred Mcdowell.
