Gladstone
Right, with the Cole question answered the rest of the squad had become more or less predictable. What will be much more interesting is who will make his starting 11.My guess would be: Hart, Johnson, Baines, Cahill, Jagielka, Milner, Gerrard, Henderson, Wilshere, Ox [or Sterling], Rooney. 4-5-1, Johnson on the right, Baines on the left. Milner RM, Ox LM, Gerrard, Henderson with Wilshere between them and Rooney.
Adam Easy Wishes
Sturridge will start, surely.
Gladstone
Sturridge will start, surely.Maybe - but I just can't imagine Hodgson being bold enough to start two forwards, and I think he'll start with Rooney up top. The team I listed isn't the team I think should play - just the team I think probably will play. We'll see... I have always been pretty underwhelmed by the team that actually gets picked to represent England at tournaments and I don't see it being any different this time, especially with a tough group to try and pick up points. The Milner
It will be Gerrard and Henderson sitting in the middle with Sturridge, Rooney, Welbeck and Wilshire infront id imagine.
Paranoid Android
Lallana should be in the team before Welbeck.
The Milner
I'd disagree, Welbeck has done well in an England shirt of late, he deserves at least the first game.
Adam Easy Wishes
I think Lallana SHOULD play, I just think Welbeck will. Wilshere won't play wide IMO, so he'll either go with Wilshere and Gerrard sitting or Henderson and Gerrard I reckon.
Captain America
That was ages ago now though. Lallana is bang in form and that's who he should go with.
Gladstone
I hope Hodgson does go for something a bit more attacking / exciting like that, but I'd be surprised if England aren't the same, predictable, cagey, defensive team that we've seen in every tournament of the past 20 years or so. Paranoid Android
Pepe Mel has gone from WBA. Proof that the club had no idea what they were doing when they appointed him. He was never going to work as a short term fix. Giving him the job only made sense if they saw it as a long term project.
Captain America
West Brom were lucky to survive. I thought they'd go for Malky Mackay at the time. I think they may still. I reckon Norwich will want him also. Who's going to buy Villa? I'd quite like to see them get some big money. They always get talked about as one of those "big clubs" but in my time never have been. Adam Easy Wishes
I think it's unlikely, but McInnes is 8/1 for the WBA job, apparently.
The Milner
I would not be surprised to see him go. It would suck, but i can see it happening.
Adam Easy Wishes
I think the fact they stayed up works in our favour.
Lemonade
Vincent Tan is in the news this morning saying it's Malky Mackay's fault they were relegated. What a vag this man is proving himself to be.
Captain America
Yeah SPL to EPL would be a huge leap most clubs wont make. You should be more worried if he gets linked to one of the sides that went down.
ca_gere
Moyes to Villa surely.
The Milner
West Brom you mean?
Adam Easy Wishes
I think Lambert will be alright. No need for Lerner to make changes until the club is sold, surely?
ca_gere
West Brom you mean? Nah, Villa. I called it the day he got sacked. It's gonna happen. I'm ITK.
Moose
I reckon Moyes might go to Newcastle.
Soda Jerk
It will be Gerrard and Henderson sitting in the middle with Sturridge, Rooney, Welbeck and Wilshire infront id imagine. I think it will be this. Hodgson goes for 4-3-3 more often than not, and he seemed to love Cleverley, so I'm surprised - and also glad - that he's not been picked. Henderson will just take Cleverley's place in the midfield 3 with Gerrard and Wilshere. Gerrard deep. Henderson and Wilshere ahead, and a front 3 of Welbz, Wazza and Studge. I'd plump Smalling in the centre of defence next to Cahill. Smalling is so underrated at centre back. Chances are he was brought as a backup full back, and won't play in the middle. Jagielka is good, but he gets turned easily, and he's not the strongest in the air. Smalling is quick off the mark, and colossal in the air. He just can't dribble for shite, so he shouldn't ever be in contention to play as a full back. No idea why Phil Jones is in the team. He's nowhere near ready, unless he's doing a man marking job. Smalling is twice the defender Jones is.
The Milner
Jones is there because they need at least one player to get injured during the tournament.
Soda Jerk
He will probably get injured trying to injure someone.
