I'm sure you've read about the subject matter but it's dealt with brilliantly and the songs are just immense. Japandroids only just pipped it for my top spot and that's purely because some of the memories associated with the Japandroids album. I remember taking a slating earlier in their year when I commented on how good I thought the album was. Good fuzz, good tunes, good harmonies, what's not to like? That's a really good list, but I definitely wouldn't put the Dirty Projectors in top spot. They would only just make my top 20, I think the album requires a bit of work sometimes to really sink into. The last tune on the new Fuck Buttons record is fucking incredible. Like Can covering Underworld.

It definitely needs several listens but once it clicks, it's an incredible record. Every time I listen to it, I notice something else I like about it.And yes, Wavves are great! The guy's a bit of an arsehole, but who cares?

Old Gold
I agree that the Brand New one is pretty tidy. The Jeniferever cover is indeed a disgrace though.
Graham
That Jeniferever album cover is actually much nicer in the flesh. The colours are different and the circles are not as prominent. That picture does make it look fucking rank though!

MC Nice Andrew
Acctually, my spelling is correct. You see, their name is loosely derived from the latin 'Sha ka ree', which is roughly translated to 'to spell'. Being the jesters as they may well infact be, they changed this in the spelling of their name for subtle irony, which tickles the very best of us.As i'm sure your aware being that as you may not already forthwith. I know this because I asked him when my old band supported them in Edinburgh... In fact, Shikari himself is featured on the album cover of take to the skies.Although I would like to apologise for my picking on your possible typo in the first place. I was in a foul mood. My bad.
