Dan G
If you don't own them already, go and buy the following albums:'Blackwater Park' - Opeth'Metropolis Pt. 2 - Scenes from A Memory' - Dream Theater'Stabbing The Drama' - SoilworkAnd you're lives will be far, far superior to all of your friends (except of course if they own those albums in which case you're not as cool as them, so go and buy them)
Willum
I've been meaning to check out Stabbing the Drama actually. I rediscovered a CD with loads of Soilwork on it someone gave to me a while ago. Was great stuff. The Flameout = \m/

Guest Scorge Spike
I'd agree with the first two choices. The Soilwork album is a bit iffy.Anyway, here follows my list of 20 'metal' albums you really should have off the top of my head (post 1980). If you score less than 12, you're probably a fool (or too skint to afford the more obscure ones). Here goes.....Anacrusis - Suffering HourBal Sagoth - A Black Moon Broods Over LemuriaBathory - Blood Fire DeathCeltic Frost - To Mega TherionDragonforce - Sonic FirestormDream Theater - Images And WordsGamma Ray - Land Of The FreeIced Earth - Horror ShowIron Maiden - The Number Of The BeastMegadeth - Rust In PeaceMetallica - Kill 'Em AllMithras - Worlds Beyond The VeilMotorhead - Ace Of SpadesOpeth - OrchidParadise Lost - IconSlayer - Reign In BloodStratovarius - Elements Pt ISymphony X - V: The New Mythology SuiteTestament - The GatheringVenom - Welcome To HellI know there are omissions and I await a barrage of abuse regarding my lack of knowledge on the subject..... Willum
I bought Horror Show by IE last weekend. I've only listend to it once but...hmm. I don't think it's as good as The Glorius Burden. Dracula is great though, Ripper sounds awesome on it.

Willum
They can be great when they want to be. They're a lot better with Ripper now, but I still liked Barlow's vocals.Although I still wish Ripper was with Priest.Anyways, heres a few more albums that are essential:BLAZE - Silicon MessiahBLAZE - Tenth DimensionBLAZE - As Live As It GetsBLAZE - Blood and BeliefWolfsbane - Massive Noise InjectionIron Maiden - The X FactorSavatage - Wake Of MagellanMegadeth - So Far, So Good...So What? (RIP has already been mentioned)Judas Priest - PainkillerJudas Priest - JugulatorCan't think of anything else right now. Will probably add more later.EDIT: Here we go.Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical WeddingBruce Dickinson - Accident of Birth
Dan G
no no no, Iced earth will never beat dark saga or ESPECIALLY something wicked this way comes...glorius burden is utter drivel by comparison. horror show is not as bad but not great. Dracula is great though' date=' Ripper sounds awesome on it.[/quote']Don't you know... you can't say the G-B word on the Atom forum... it is the album of which they do not speak. It is an awesome album, esp. Gettysburg which is pure gold - but it ain't quite good enough to beat Something Wicked which is utterly amazing

Although need to include Alien by Strapping Young Lad which is selling more albums that Soilworks already...that said, the Soilwork album is ace

Gethsemane
'Still Life' is superior to 'Blackwater Park', although only just... also the Soilwork you album isn't all that great to be honest, 'The Chainheart Machine' and 'A Predators Portrait' are far superior.AS for Dream Theater, that is probably their best work... although '6 Degrees Of Inner Turbulence' is quite spanking. Natural Born Chaos will always be my favourite though.AS for Dream Theater, that is probably their best work... although '6 Degrees Of Inner Turbulence' is quite spanking.[/quote']in YOUR opinion. That's why I gave mine... Personally I think the Chainheart Machine is pretty good - especially machine gun majesty - certainly better than Steel Bath Suicide, although like you say, A Predators Portrait is amazing. As far as opeth goes... I prefer blackwater park. Then deliverance. Then My arms your hearse. THEN still life. Also I don't think much of 6 degrees... except for the glass prison.Oh, and Mr Demon of the fall... the new In Flames album is RUBBISH!!!! (in my opinion)
