  1. Damn, beaten to it. I believe the term Warnock used was 'sewer rat', and I think it was <18 months after he signed him. I remember him saying in an interview it was because he was the best player with low enough wages for Leeds to sign him. Found it -> Warnock said after the game: “The lads were furious with El-Hadji Diouf; Mackie had broken his leg and he is calling him all sorts on the pitch. “ I can’t abide people like that. Even the Blackburn people were embarrassed. For years I have thought Diouf was the gutter type – I was going to call him a sewer rat but that might be insulting to sewer rats. “He is the lowest of the low. I think he will be the first to leave Blackburn and good riddance – I hope he goes abroad because I won’t miss him. He is a nasty little person.’ Diouf replied: “Who is Warnock? He’s nothing to me. "He’s not Alex Ferguson, he’s not Arsene Wenger, he’s not Sam Allardyce or an important manager. "I know he doesn’t like me, but it’s the same for me – I don’t like him.”
  2. Looks like Demba Ba is off to Chelsea. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20890803
  3. I simply don't have enough wangs to play with. In all seriousness these are basically 15W JCM800 clones made by the company that makes Biyang pedals and actually sound alright and they are ridiculously cheap. You can buy them in the EU but rebranded (boo, I wanted wangs), for 175 euro so <£150. Features wise it trumps everything in it's price category but then again 15w is probably too loud for home use. It would be fun to get one and retube it though, see what it's capable of. You can also buy Biyang pedals rebranded and I intend to pick a couple up since they are so cheap and the reviews for them are so good. The Biyang pedals have been released here by Akai but they cost £60-£70. The versions I am looking at which are totally identical bar the branding cost 35-50 euros. The company that sells all of this stuff also sells a Russian built Dual rectifier copy for 1000 euros. It sounds pretty damn good and the Russian built gear I have is very well made so that seems like a decent deal. With a 30 day no quibbles return guarantee could be fun to get and mess about with. My next guitar purchase will be a custom made 7 string whenever I get the cash. I wanted a purple ash finish and didn't know the Rob Caggiano sig actually already has that. So something like this colour wise but using a different finishing technique to get a more 3d effect. Different hardware too.
  4. It works fine but could probably do with a new bridge and tuners. One of the saddles has had the screws replaced with a non original one so I am not too sure how easy it is to adjust. The tuners aren't the highest quality and while they do the job not sure how long they'd keep it in tune as frankly I don't play it. Fatboy was person who replaced the electrics for me, maybe PM him. So I'd class it as more of a project guitar than a player straight away. However I have put £100 of pickups/electrics/other hardware on the guitar so at £40 you're basically getting the guitar for free It's an old MIJ guitar and it's a solid chunk of wood. Would be a fantastic project.

Our front door being jammed shut and our property agency not answering the emergency phone. It's been playing up for a while (nothing to do with the lock. its as if the wood has expanded thus preventing it from moving past the frame). It was tricky to open when I left to go out earlier but now I literally cannot move it. Hopefully they get a move on with answering it as I have to to go work in just over 12 hours.
  6. This better be true. It's in BBC football gossip column. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/
  7. Some videos of the vintage tube monster. It's a big metal housed tank, not the flimsy plastic cased models. Here it is vs a DS-1. I believe both of these videos are stock and personally I thought the stock tube was woeful, hence replacing with the sovtek. Also this was recorded using the v-amp 2. They can be made to sound half decent! I have interest in the Aria and Microcube so they are being held but as yet no firm sales. Usual offers/discounts for multiple items policy.
  8. The app costs $1.99 for us. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ips-communities/id521920635?mt=8
  9. http://www.aberdeen-music.com/threads/cheap-pedals-guitars-for-sale.54099/ I'd let the Hondo go for £40.
  10. http://amtelectronics.com/products/ If you have an amp with an FX loop get one of the preamps or 'legend' pedals. They are awesome and the legend models are very good emulations of well known amps. Eg P2 = peavey 5150. E2=Engl Powerball I believe. You get the picture. The Bogner and Orange ones would probably be awesome if you want to do the style of hardcore you love so much.I will definitely be picking up a couple this year if I have the cash. They do have drive models for using in front of an amp like a distortion but I haven't used them so can't comment. From others I have heard, the wampler and amptweaker pedals are good for heavy stuff but they are also very expensive.
  11. I do indeed still have it. Will send you a PM.
  12. I still have a load of presents under my tree as my sister is coming up on Saturday assuming the weather allows. I will get mine from her then too. Christmas is not over! Seriously though Jake - enjoy the presents but know you are incredibly spoiled compared to most people! I would have been happy to get 1/3rd of that Especially in light of the current financial predicament. My mum has said she can't afford to get me anything this year. As such I am actually paying for her to get a bus to Aberdeen so I can give her the presents I got her. I feel for the people that are unemployed at this time of year. Everyone wants to be able to buy nice things for their family and it must be hard not being able to provide that.
  13. My gf was working night shift last night and tonight. Saw her for a few hours and walked her to work since there are no buses so not too bad but still for the most part pretty boring. Been watching the walking dead on netflix and will probably find Something else to watch later. We couldn't find any nice festive food small enough for 2 so just had curry today. Not had a drink today due to gf working but my vast rum reserves may take a hit!
  14. One for HateEvent here, as R&B is an Ibanez dealer, can you order replacement parts through them? I'm thinking about getting a replacement gibraltar plus bridge.
  15. That wasn't too offensive at all. Sadly that formulaic crap is still popular, but they are far from the worst band of that ilk I have heard. You will think that band are The Beatles compared to this. The section beginning at 2:14 almost ended me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHH59ZTfe_w
  16. Anyone who wants to hold on a bit for The Walking Dead should note the first episode is free on xb0x360 for a week after xmas and the other episodes are also on sale on 28th December. Skyrim DLC is on sale 31st December too. There have been sales on for the last few days but there doesn't seem to be a panel on the dashboard advertising it like usual. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-12-13-enormous-xbox-marketplace-sale-starts-next-week
  17. Yup I did indeed. I like them, delay isn't the most versatile but sounds good and the size is very handy too.
  18. This thread needs moar pics. Especially of shiny pedals. I need some ideas of what to get next! After recent purchases my rig is like this. Gear wise I need a power supply for all this instead of relying on batteries and an actual pedal board. DIY shop time! Next will be a chorus, reverb and a wah probably, maybe a fuzz. Any suggestions for nice sounding pedals that don't break the bank?
  19. I've been coughing my lungs out all day with the flu. Would have been a pretty shit final day if it was the apocalypse. As it is looks like I am in for another fun day of the same tomorrow! In the grand scheme of the universe we are but one meagre planet so I really don't think mankind is significant at all from that perspective.
  20. NR100 . Well it is Behringer.... it's cheap, in a plastic case and does a job as a noise gate. It's different to the ISP. The ISP at low levels purely removes hiss from pedals and at high levels reduces the noise from everything. I use it at the end of my pedals before amp and it totally kills all hum from the pedals. The NR seems to be more of a gate. It does reduce the volume of the hum but doesn't totally eliminate it if you don't mute the strings with your left hand. whereas the ISP does. The NR100 also reduces the volume when you are playing, it's not nearly as sophisticated and selective as the ISP. It does have a send/return like an NS2 so in theory you can use it at the end of your pedal board and also in the FX loop but I have never used it like that. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Behringer-NR100-Noise-Reducer-Pedal/6LF
  21. Do you rehearse at Captain Tom's by any chance? I live reasonably nearby to there so I can give you a shot of the ISP if you want. Or I have a Behringer NS2 clone you can have for £15 if you want

    Pet Hates!

Presumably they have to pay tax unless they are operating some Starbucks-esque franchise and have their head office in a tax haven?

High value notes arouse more suspicion because they yield more profit as forgeries so there is more incentive for criminals to attempt to forge them. Also if it is a fake, your business has been screwed over for a fair amount. I don't see a huge amount of them either, it is mostly tourists are given them by the bureau de change and use them in my work. I used to work in a petrol station where we were paid in cash. I once walked into the bank with about £600 in £50 notes that was a months wages. Now that must have looked dodgy! It probably would be much easier to get away with forging £5 notes as they quite often are old and tatty anyway, in addition to the point about high value notes being more obvious targets for forgery.
