  1. Official Epitaph stream of the new Converge album. Can't wait for this.
  2. More tracks! http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-10-04-trials-evolution-origin-of-pain-dlc-released-tomorrow
  3. In one of the preview videos there is some guy buying a young American striker (21-22ish maybe?) who is super fast and very strong and rated lated 60's I think? He'd make mincemeat of anything below Prem League I'd imagine, even if he can't shoot you could practically run the ball into the net. Just search for USA players with speed and acceleration >90. He looks a bit like Jackson Martinez who was my go to guy if FIFA 12 manager mode. Proper annihilation with him. Bought him with a championship side and scored about 50 goals in the season on World Class. So quick and fast give him the ball on the edge of the box he can turn and hold off just about any defender with ease. I really need the new FIFA
  4. Yeah it's all about skilled dribbling controls. Hold LT and RT and press up or down depending on the direction you want to go and your player does a mini sidestep thing and accelerates away and that burst of speed will take you past defenders pretty easily. It's lethal when used properly. If you still can't figure it out YouTube FIFA skilled dribbling and there are some good tutorials there.
  5. Funnily enough I didn't check this site all day and arranged the sale via facebook, only to realise it was Sam 45's that he listed here earlier So it is staying in the ab-music family! Cab wise, whatever I can afford. Don't have one at the moment so hopefully someone will buy my Ibanez and let me complete the rig! Planning on getting the AMT SS-30 and tube cake (considered the EHX 22 calibre, but probably way too loud and nowhere hear as flexible as the tube cake with regards to brightness/presence controls) and A/Bing that with the Matamp for a super versatile low watt rig. Need the SS-30 for higher gain, tight stuff. Never played a Matamp but I really don't see it excelling at that! However that's fine as the SS-30 seems perfect from the recordings I have heard of it and the Matamp has it's own separate use. Although this is done using a Matamp Little Rock so lets see what it can do boosted with a 7 string, as heinous as that may be to some people here..... Bearing that in mind probably a v30 loaded 2x12. At the moment I can only realistically afford a Harley Benton G212. I know, seems a bit weird sticking an amp like that with a cheapo cab but it will do til I can get something better!
  6. Just agreed to buy one of these and should be picking it up on Wednesday. Not what I was looking for but seduced by the tone.... Will still be buying that AMT preamp thing and power amp pedal for versatility. It's a Little Rock.
  7. Still have this and could do with selling it to fund other gear. Part exchange considered for 2x12's, power bricks, pedal boards, pedals or tube amps. Have very specific tastes so may be picky but open to offers! Better pics here - http://imgur.com/a/aoFgP
  8. A goal for every crime. His conviction:goal ratio makes even Joey Barton look like a saint.
  9. You got a game sent from love film? Did you have indecent pictures of the staff or something? I had several games on my list for a few months and they never came, let alone a brand new one. Part of the reason why I cancelled. What are people's opinions then? Unsure if I will buy it or wait til price comes down. Fancy buying Rocksmith to see if it motivate me to sit down and practice more. Wait to see a few more reviews of the UK release as there have been numerous updates since the US one. The mini games look like they might be useful.
  10. Sainsburys have the cheapest unconditional sale at £35. Tesco sell it for £29 if bought with xbox live points/subcription or PSN credit. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/news/a408621/fifa-13-price-round-up-tesco-sainsburys-hmv-more.html

In Edinburgh with Lothian you can get a prepaid ticket for 20 journeys which can then be used until all the journeys are redeemed. I guess First would also be unwilling to invest in something like that? The card reading infrastructure is already in place there due to the ridacards instead of these old bus passes where you have to get it stamped. But aren't the OAP/disabled card holders using a scanning system for travel anyway? I don't really get on first buses anymore due to living close to town but they really should do that for everyone. It's so much easier to pay direct debit for a bus pass that doesn't need stamped every month and you just insert into the reader on journeys. Easier for drivers too. They have machines that issue tickets at some stops in the centre of Edinburgh but never used them so don't know how good/bad they are. I miss the Edinburgh bus service. It was amazing until the tram works started. Now every time I go home it just gets bloody confusing due to different parts of the city being dug up every time. Don't even get me started on the trams. Biggest fucking waste of money ever and even before the farcical money spent is taken into consideration the inconvenience it has caused everyone is mindblowing.
  12. Update on Man vs Food style food quest. I just discovered a place on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow serves these. I am going to a gig there in a week on Wednesday. Hmmm.... "Behold: a juicy burger cavorting around in a bun with spicy pulled pork, chilli jam, grilled chorizo, tomato, burnt pineapple and a drizzle of Buffalo hot sauce!" £7.25 but looks worth every penny, aside from the pineapple. I hate pineapple. More info and pictures of ace looking stuff here -> https://www.facebook.com/MeatHammerLtd
  13. 20 watt tube head is more than loud enough for gigging. The HT20 will do. Even the HT5 will be loud enough to get the walls in your house shaking and piss off neighbours when cranked with a 2x12. The only situation you never need more than 20 watts for is if there is no PA. Most venues and rehearsal spaces have a PA so can mic your cab. In that case even an HT1 would do the job! R&B have most of the Blackstar HT range so go try one out to help you decide. They are very good little heads and can do death metal no problem so gain isn't an issue. What pickups does your Pacifica have? Is it an HSS or SSS layout? We can suggest cheap but decent replacements if you like.
  14. Also worth saying most venues and rehearsal spaces have cabs you can use, but quality varies and more than likely they will not be v30 loaded. You really don't need one for home use either if you have a practice amp or use any computer based rigs. Personal preference really but if you have your home rig sorted (and practice if you are not using a commercial practice space) and it will be too difficult to transport maybe just use the ones in venues. You won't get a consistent sound like you will with your own cab but you will save money and your back! What amp head do you have? If you don't have one yet we may be able to help there too. Same with the Pacifica. Never played one but I would wager the pickups won't be ideal for metal.
  15. To be fair the wages in Australia are also very high so no wonder the cost of living/amenities is also very high. The amount of healthcare workers going there because the pay is so good is substantial. In some jobs it can easily be 50-100% more than comparable wages in the UK.
  16. In b4 Dennis Marshall. Yes he is very far away but his reputation preceeds him. Not sure I would go to R&B based on the experiences of some of the people here.
  17. Probably looking for a v30 loaded cab then. They are the classic hard rock/metal speaker. Someone was selling a v30 loaded fender 4x12 recently for £170 on the Aberdeen instruments wanted/for sale group. If you are looking for a v30 loaded 2x12 in that price the Harley Benton 2x12 fits the bill. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_g212_vintage.htm if you spend £200 delivery is free so if you are wanting a pedal/cables would be a good time to order! A 2x12 is much more portable. 4x12's are a bitch to carry and transport.
  18. Did you go into any music shops when you were there? The price of guitars is bloody scary! It's actually cheaper to use one of the many good aussie luthiers and get a custom than a Korean made mid range instrument. Mental. FIFA street was never a full priced game! Played the demo and was not impressed. It may have been worth a purchase if it was downloadable for 1200 MSP but £40? No thanks!
  19. Anyone else noticed that the cheapest pre-order for this in the big retailers (including amazon) is nearly £43? Crazy. Tesco have a 15% off deal and that is the best I have seen if you deduct 15%. Hopefully one of the supermarkets will do a loss leader and offer it for £25 when you buy your shopping there. I picked it up for £25 from tesco last year on launch day. http://www.tescoentertainment.com/store/browse/campaign/Great-FIFA-13-offer/?icid=GamesHome_Great-FIFA-13-offer_Static1 Played the demo and thought basically the same as Moose. A few nice tweaks but not substantially different. Will definitely wait til it comes down in price as it is not a big enough jump to warrant a full priced purchase IMO.
  20. I also have a 19" Samsung HDTV/pc monitor lying around not being used. This model. It's up provisionally unless my gf disagrees. Will ask her when she gets home tomorrow
  21. Got these lying around my flat and I don't use them so may as well see if I can get anything for them. As for how much I would sell them for, make an offer. May just sell all the games separately as some of them still go for reasonable amounts on ebay. The Ps1 final fantasy games especially go for £10 each. Mental! PS2 Console. original model. Comes with memory card and will double check the box but think it is 2 remotes. All cables/power supply included. have the following games. All boxed and with instructions unless otherwise noted. I *think* I have Time Crisis 4 with light gun lying around in a box but need to go hunt for it. Lightgun only works on CRT tv's though. Guitar Hero II. (game only) Need for Speed Prostreet Need for Speed Most Wanted Resident Evil 4 Road Trip Adventure Everybody's Golf Jet Ion GP PES3 PES4 Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance Perfect Ace 2 (game only, not original box) Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX (game only, not original box) Burnout Revenge Help charity compilation box (Road Rash, Myst and Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars) Not a game but also have Action Replay 2 CD+memory card thing if you fancy being a cheating bastard at any of the above games. and now for the nerdy jRPG stuff Final Fantasy VII (ps1) Final Fantasy IX (ps1) Final Fantasy X Finaly Fantasy XII Games made by Level 5: Dragon Quest VIII Journey of the Cursed King Dark Cloud Dark Chronicle (sequel to Dark Cloud) Rogue Galaxy Wii console, all cables/tv sensor. 2 remotes, 2 nunchucks plus one wii motion plus. 2 official nintendo wheel attachments for Mario Kart. Also has a gambecube controller and gamecube memory card. Following games: Okami Mario Kart Wii Sports Wii Sports resort Wii Play Super Mario Galaxy EA sports active (+all the crap that comes with it) Rockstar presents Table Tennis The House of the Dead 2+3 return. Just Dance Trauma Centre: Second Opinion Aggressive Inline (gamecube) Super Monkey Ball (gamecube)
  22. The first game I ever played in HD was Fallout 3 on a 19" TV about 4 years ago. Even on a tiny TV the difference was huge. Have you bought the DLC? Any good? I haven't played Skyrim since finishing it in January but may consider picking up Dawnguard. Hearthfire looks crap. I am currently playing Rock Band Blitz when I have some time. Very like the DS/PSP rock bands but with the powerups. A but strange to get used to as to acheive the highest score that does not necessarily mean hitting every note/phrase but have managed to 5* every song in the main game and most of the DLC I have played so far and and gold star on quite a few too. Still mean to revisit Dark Souls.
  23. The demo is out today. Downloading it on my xbox as we speak. Shall post initial thoughts when I've had a few games.

Well it is her best friend and I guess she doesn't want to look like a cheapskate but they don't see each other much since she moved away. I personally though something like £50 in vouchers would be enough as a few suggested. It is down in Kirkcaldy too so we are paying a fair whack travelling and staying in a hotel and my gf gas to pay for hen do which is in Edinburgh so I think that is over £100 before all the cost of whatever they drink on the night as well as the cost of the trains. On the booze front I bet you get people sneaking booze in hip flasks and such like. I have a friend who went to a fancy ball thing where they searched bags for people smuggling stuff in so they emptied and cleaned a bottle of perfume and took vodka in that way. Sneaky.
  25. Go on the Facebook page and see all the bitching about the first cat house night. It is hilarious. Went myself for a couple of hours and nothing special. Biggest problem was the room was packed and like a sauna. Bar was tiny so it was quicker to go through to the main room, weird thick plastic glasses and the one drink I got tasted funky. Toilets are just too far away from the small room and the bouncers/staff in general were a bit iffy. In that respect it was just like the real cathouse! Lots of people bitching about the music as to be expected. I didn't think it was that bad but then I left at 1am as I had work in the morning.
