The difference, I thought, was fitness. While Aberdeen pressed and run a very fast, compact attack for the first 20 minutes, they started to lose steam about 30 minutes in, before the first goal. If the Dons were able to keep that intensity up for longer periods, it would've been far closer. Whether that's a coaching issue, or a facilities issue, I don't know. If your lot are generally fitter going into next season, and play shrewdly in the transfer market (to improve the depth of the squad), you'll be pumping the likes of Motherwell and St. Mirren on the regular. It sounds obvious, but Scottish teams don't seem to prioritise fitness over the course of a season, so you'll notice more bizarre score-lines when it comes to March and April.
