  1. Saturday nights are never a problem - single yellow lines are (mostly) your oyster on a Saturday night after 6pm. Just remember to check the signs for ones which do operate on a Sunday. All going well then you're golden until 8am on Monday morning.
  2. Nothing will change until people redevelop backbones enough to think "yes, I did something wrong", acknowledge it then try to improve instead of looking for something/one else to blame for their woes when they do wrong. Then it might be a hand up in acknowledgement instead of one or two fingers in retort when I toot my horn at someone who has blatantly gone through a red light leaving me stranded in the middle of the road when I'm waiting to turn right. Then they might find some empathy flowing their way, making it OK to make a mistake again because one doesn't get grief for pointing it out any more. Hey, with enough toots they might put two and two together and stop at red lights. PS. amber technically means stop too, but let's tackle one problem at a time, eh?
  3. Counting my lucky stars every time I come home to not finding my front door busted open and any possessions worth >= 20 down the pub gone really puts me in an empathetic mood. Lack of empathy might be correlating nicely with a lack of people taking responsibility for their own actions?
  4. Public Information Films | 1945 to 1951 | Film index | Coughs and Sneezes
  5. That isn't surprising - antibiotics have no effect on viruses, which both the common cold and influenza are.
  6. If it's a 310 then it will be: Epiphone Musical Instruments - SG Collection
  7. Meh. Yes, that's my argument, response and opinion rolled into one. I only typed that because you need 8 characters to post, "Meh." is 4 and I got up a head of steam at character 7.
  8. Pretty sure I've seen them in the shoppie in the Hub at Aberdeen Uni.

  10. Did you download the stable version (1.2.6) or the newest version (which seems stable enough to me) (1.3.6)? If you got 1.2.6, try 1.3.6 and see if it's any different.
  11. That's the first thing that springs to mind for me too. Now that I'm aware of what it actually means it appears to be a lifestyle choice rather than anything specifically to do with music (other than the derivation of the term), or am I missing something here?
  12. Further to this, you must remember to make sure the source for the recording is not set to Microphone. On my computer, the output of the sound card (which is what you're recording) is referred to in Audacity as "Stereo Mix"
  13. Flashback was amazing in its day and to my mind still is pretty damn good.
  14. +1 If you're fully comp then you should be covered for this, maybe a wee excess (I think my glass excess is 50). Oh and I feel your pain - been there, done that: Index of /~matthew/pics/breakin
  15. Holy generalisation, Batman! What a load of sanctimonious, condescending crap. Not hard to raise 10k, oh wait, I've just found 10k in my back pocket. You're in cloud cuckoo land. I take great exception to your generalisations, your complete lack of regard for people's circumstances and your holier-than-thou preaching.
  16. You could refer to yourself as N. A. York and enjoy years of people speculating as to what "N. A." stands for...
  17. neepheid - Scots. literally "turnip head". A name derived back in 1996 in a (successful) attempt to get a Hotmail address without numbers in it. "Something that an American wouldn't think of" was the rationale. As for rock star name, it would probably be Skip Main. That is a pathetic rock star name. Skip was a rabbit btw, I didn't have a pet skip.
  18. Not currently owning property, recently married and wanting to set up home somewhere but can't because we need a stupid amount of deposit to get started. Saving's hard - my ISA's interest rate has dropped to 3%, all the money seems to get used up by the end of the month, and although I have no debt other than my car loan (no balances on cards etc.) it seems like being careful and sensible just isn't enough. I'm getting tired of being sensible for little return.
  19. Hi there For sale I have an OLP MM3 5 string bass. It is natural finish, black pickguard and maple fingerboard. It is in good cosmetic condition - no dings. It has had some modifications - an improved Hipshot string retainer at the headstock and a battery box fitted. I was going to add active electronics to this bass but I never got round to finishing the job. The ground work is there in case anyone fancies doing the job. Not much else to say about these - a licensed copy of the Musicman Stingray 5, 34" scale, 1 humbucking pickup, currently wired Volume/Volume/Tone as per standard for these basses (the two volumes control each coil of the pickup). Enough yap, have some photos: pre-modification Hipshot string retainer battery box Based upon recent eBay sales these seem to go for around 130-150 + postage so let's say 140.
