  1. I never used them, they added little to the experience except for the occasional rolling of eyes due to bad puns and therefore I don't miss them.
  2. There are far worse sub groups of teenagers going around. Like the ones who habitually carry around bolt cutters and try to steal your wheels. I'd quite happily have goths hanging around looking monochromatic over that.
  3. It would have been more impressive if a venue for this "square go" was proposed together with a summary of the antagonist's availability in the near future, but I'm guessing that information was not forthcoming. Shall we take this outside? Queensberry rules!
  4. +1 I got treated to that too. They should head down to Gaza and see how far they get.
  5. The use of "fucking" was in the verb construct "fucking off" which simply means "to go away somewhere" and did not seem to be personally directed at you. If you're offended by that then you're probably thinking too much. No mention of "tax-dodging", "layabout" or other derogatory student references were made until you made them yourself. The poster you seem to be in dispute with also made a suggestion. That seems pretty positive to me. I think you're overreacting. You may feel persecuted but believe me, not everyone is out to get you. I for one simply don't have time to perform much more than this attempt at conciliation.
  6. As far as low price compacts go, Fuji have the best low light, high ISO performance. Knocks spots off the competition in this respect (last time I checked at least). Check this side by side of a Fuji F50fd and a Nikon P5100 at ISO800: Fujifilm FinePix F50fd Review: 14. Compared to...: Digital Photography Review Higher ISO number means more sensitivity to light and therefore less time the shutter needs to be open to gather the same amount of light and therefore less blur when taking pictures with no flash - at the cost of more noise in the picture. For a good while now Fuji seem to have been doing the best of all the major camera manufacturers to minimise this effect. Just checking Amazon yields a plethora of Fuji options at the 100-200 range. It depends further on practicality - how portable do you want it? Amazon.co.uk: 100 - 200 - FujiFilm / Digital Cameras / Photography / fujifilm: Electronics & Photo
  7. Do you know the impedance of the 1x15 cab? Cheers
  8. That's the Inverurie paper mill away: BBC NEWS | Scotland | North East/N Isles | Hundreds lose jobs as mill closes
  9. That's Jessops feeling the pinch now - closing 17 shops including Aberdeen - BBC NEWS | Scotland | Glasgow, Lanarkshire and West | Jessops to cut 12 Scottish stores
  10. Here's a photo of the swag:
  11. No, I'm having a quiet one tonight. Well, quiet in the > 200Hz range anyway.
  12. I hardly use my PSP so I'm looking to move it on. Black PSP - the full size one, not the newer slim one. Comes with the following games - Archer Maclean's Mercury Mercury Meltdown Lumines Exit 2006 FIFA World Cup Wipeout Pure Worms: Open Warfare Comes with gubbins such as case, charger, manual, demo disc, silly pouch thing for holding UMDs, unused screen protector and a 1GB memory stick. I have a 2GB stick lying around somewhere which you can have if I can find it. No scratches on screen, in good working order, only been used on occasional travels. I'd like 100 for the lot.
  13. I've tried to translate, but the original text is in a language with which I am not very familiar, so excuse the rather mechanical sounding narrative which follows: Greetings! We require a bass player aged between 18 and 21. The candidate must be proficient in playing rock and indie (I may have used some artistic license for this sentence). Our influences include AC/DC and The Who (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that those two are not their ONLY influences, although I believe the original text can be read that way). The candidate must be able to travel, but if not don't worry - we will be going into the recording studio very soon (quite how this mitigates the candidate's travel problems is beyond me - probably my lack of proficiency in the original language showing through there, my apologies). Cheers (Ha! Lingua franca at last!)
  14. I quite enjoyed that. I'd go to a gig on the strength of that initial showing.
  15. As I said to you, I'd strongly advise against doing this on an instrument with a carved top. It's irreversible and it will harm resale value. You'll notice a lot more difference with replacement pickups. What is wrong with your current sound and what are you wanting it to sound like?
  16. Oh man A Day In The Life I'm Only Sleeping Taxman Rain If I Needed Someone If you ask me tomorrow it'll be probably be different.
  17. It goes without saying that you should keep your original WAV file - whatever you convert a copy of it into and whatever you use to do so. Furthermore - 128kbps is perfectly adequate for casual listening and will compress much better - approx 1MB a minute.
  18. I could see Return working as an intro to something (like an album track 1), but for that purpose it's probably about 2 minutes too long. In a similar vein, I could see Middle (despite the title) working as a final track. White ended up becoming a bit samey for me, but I realise that these are WIP. Good as far as it goes. Overall, it's not the kind of stuff I'd go looking for, but experimentation is always good. I'd be interested to see how these develop.
  19. The new Squier Classic Vibe models look good for the money - decent looking bridges on them and nicely aged necks. The sonic blue 60s P looks particularly nice and can be picked up for about 230 notes online. Mmm.
