  1. I quite liked "Last Exit", reminded me a bit of R.E.M.'s "Airportman" for some reason. The last 30 seconds or so provide a welcome and refreshing change to the track which keeps things interesting (and fun to watch on a spectrum analyser )
  2. Stolen from a church? I'm not a regular church goer, but I still think that's a bit low, maybe in a Highlander "holy ground" kind of way. Has he been checking Crime Converters, ebay, gumtree etc.? Does he have a note of the serial number? Also try putting a post up on basschat.co.uk, if it's gone further afield then maybe someone might have spotted it.

  4. Holy 2 year old thread resurrection, Batman!
  5. Lucky you. My better half wasn't so fortunate - she ended up paying her bill twice and they were such a bunch of wriggly fuckers about it. I think she gave up in the end.

I can beat that distance - I had a cheapy OLP stingray copy up on aberdeen gumtree and someone from the USA got in touch really excited to take it off my hands. It would probably have cost more to send it than to buy it. Maybe he thought it was an Aberdeen in America. Bizarre. I'm not sure if I even could be bothered replying with the scorn such nonsense deserved. THIS IS A LOCAL FORUM, FOR LOCAL PEOPLE
  7. Pfft, whatever's going about, really. Mostly D'addario XL nickel plated. Dabbled with Fender stainless steel ones because they were cheap in Bruce Millers - seem nice enough to me. I mostly get strings online - Stringbusters or Strings Direct. If you order them early in the day then they usually arrive next day. If you find Stringbusters have something cheaper than SD, SD offer pricematch (remember to take Stringbuster's flat rate (1.50) P&P into account though). SD are free postage for orders above 10. Speaking of flats, I'd advise against Rotosound flats - horribly high tension, could hardly shift them when playing.
  8. It was the GELF chief. Big hairy orangutan looking things? Lister was forced to marry his daughter if memory serves. Edit - bah, beaten to the punch!
  9. Stop glorifying him - I bought a 3 sachet pack of his cous cous once and when I opened it there were only 2 sachets in it - fucking lying crook.
  10. This was for Download 2008. Gah, can someone please lock this?
  11. He got off light. We were talking about this story last night and my wife assured me that she'd do a lot more to my basses than cut the strings if she ever caught me "playing away"
  12. I think the bee in your bonnet has become a hive somewhere along the line. Live and let live. I'm a grippy, skip raiding so-and-so myself, but if someone wants to spend 000s on gear, let 'em. No-one said buying expensive gear made you a better player - you're showing a little bit of inferiority complex there, if you will indulge my amateur psychiatry.
  13. It was in Chicago Rock. I'd say avoid.
  14. Currently using a Hartke 3500 head into an Ashdown ABM 4x10 cab. Total second hand scrounging - 340. I don't care what people think of it (although I did get complimented on it once when I shared it for a gig) - it's mostly for on stage monitoring purposes and it's probably overkill for my needs.
  15. Correct. Harmonic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  16. The red one has a matching headstock. I wouldn't have one myself - neck's too thin.
  17. I can't see myself going for it - I've been wearing glasses since I was 7. It's like they're part of my face.
  18. You can't have a P and a J in the same vicinity - it's like matter and anti-matter
  19. I remember having a pair of Nike Air Flight Huarache about that time. Wore them to death.
