  1. The Bouncing Souls, CKY, X-Japan, Propagandhi, Against me, Rise Against, Strung Out... I think all of these have defanitely improved over their albums. I did think there would be a lot more though. It's more generally punk bands, who have started off really shit then gradually learn how to write that are like that. It's only once they have released albums lower than the last that they begin to get known(to name), since they have reached their peak. Naming a band who's first 4-5 albums have all improved on each other is easy...
  2. Two oranges walk into a bar. One says to the other, "you're round". (I've never written it before, kinda ruins it deciding between your or you're)
  3. 'Perfect Blue' was so werid throughout the whole film, i never knew what was going on, if it was real or not. Watching it over, it does all make sense...but it still is very weird and crazy...
  4. X-Japan - Art of Life It's half an hour long and never gets boring. It has everything...and fits together perfectly. The solos are perfect. I admit though, I'm not always in the mood. If it wasn't that, I'd probably say....bohemian rhapsody or tiny dancer. None of these are even my usual taste of music, weird.
  5. I don't know if you're just meaning live action, but if not I'd say the japanese with anime. They beat any countries film collection hands down. It's quite hard to say that, being so different, but my dvd collection has more of them than any countries films...and i guess that's a fair enough judgement. I'm also normally more keen to watch one of them than any others.
  6. Hide from X-japans solo on 'silent jealousy' is one of the best, perfect note choice and i love climax'. Also like the second or third solo on 'art of life'. Emm, maybe 'Freebird' by lynyrd Skynyrd too.
  7. I saw them live supposting the manics earlier this year, wasn't too impressed, but i'd recommend going. Individually i think they were all good musicians playing well (really nice voince) but i didn't really think they had the music to back it up. To be fair, the crowd weren't really up for it (solely there for the main act) so they might not shine so well in that environment.
  8. Have you been to the forums? They help quite a lot, and never give it away (no walkthroughs at all). If still none of that helps you, ask again
  9. http://deathball.net/notpron/ A different type of puzzle to the rooms, but equally as good. It is fucking hard, and you need to know a bit about the web (using source code etc) but manageable. I got to level 14 or 15, this is out of like 80 or something, and i was still impressed with myself.
  10. The radio wold be amazing if it worked. I'd just watch not to go overboard with local bands being on all the time, having a wide range of music playing. Having interviews, guest DJs, people trying to put on a comedy show (haha, how ace) would also be really good. I agree with putting out a monthly e-mail with gig listings as being a good idea. Maybe having links from the the e-mail to the website with either the gig, or the individual bands descriptions? I don't know if that is too much bother, but it would be very helpful. If this doesn't happen, could the promoters/venues be given the ability to send users their gig listings? This could be optional from their CP, so they could choose the venues they would want to hear from. Aberdeen-music wouldn't need to be a part of this, they could just give the e-mail addresses of people who have checked their box, and then the promoter is responsible for making and sending out the mail.
  11. Lord of the Rings I've never been into star wars, although I'm sure I'd like it if i gave it the time. LOTR does have a better plot though. I'd rather a better story over great action sequences.
  12. I totally agree with you about HWM, maybe not so much with their new album, but i can listen to flight and a crash any time and still be impressed. Propagandhi's new album is the same. It's a totally different style from their other ones(not so funny), and seems to have matured a lot (not just as in their lyrics, structres too). For catchy, more melodic music I'd go for The Living End. Especially Roll On and their s/t. I never really got into their new album the same, maybe from my tastes changing, maybe not, but that's not the point. Overall, Against me!, my favourite band. If you havn't heard them, I seriously recommend you give them a listen. They are a band which will grow on you a lot when given the chance. I always listen to them, and they have yet to ever bore me. Others to mention: Strike anywhere, avail, Rise Against, Good riddance, Bigwig, AFI, Descendants etc etc, you get the point Edit: And i just watched The Bouncing Soul's documentary this afternoon...how could i forget them?
  13. Hehe, maybe a bit too complicated kev? For what you said about rewarding people with high scene points; it's already built in. The points you give (dunno about taking away) is proportional to the scene points you have. I don't know if it is directly, but for sure it does that. When Hog gave me one, it put it up like 7 or something, where as when you did it only went up 1. Giving a chance to reveal who gave the points would stop people being such assholes, i guess that is a good thing, but overall...no
  14. I was gonna buy it a while ago too, and had the same problem. I didn't really try too hard though. Sounds an awesome video to watch. It was the video which inspired the honda advert. It was actually done for real, only using computers to blend two shots together(maybe for other little bits, but in general was done unaided).
  15. Well they've picked a shit font.
  16. They sound like they'd taste good.
  17. It was pretty much against the conspiracy theories, taking one and then disproving it. It wasn't a fair debate. Notice how they only used rednecks to put points across for it never happening. They would sit in their rocking chair and give their point, for an educated guy who mildly resembled Hog to disprove it. He was even given a budget to build a set (one guy did build a glove in a vacuum though;)). Oh well... Haha, what did they finish with? "Instead of making up a big conspiracy theory, wouldn't it be easier to just build a rocket and fly to the moon?" Yeah....
  18. The truth about the moon landing on channel 5 now! Taking experts in to consider both sides of the debate...
  19. I agree not to say who they were all given by (actually, i would like this), since all it would do is cause unneeded rivalry/hostitlity between members. It would be great to be able to see them though. How about showing them all, but anonymously?
  20. It's got the right idea....just redirects because your page doesn't exist. Your gonna get peoples hopes up with that name though.. How about 'The cure for cancer might possibly come soon' or 'We are not the cure for cancer, but there probably is one'.
  21. On BBLB after, they spoke about one of them having to go down a level now he is in the house. As in he usually dealt with photographs etc, and now nobody in there has heard of him. I don't know who that was or anything as I didn't watch the actual programme, and just heard that while changing channels. Anyway, that must be who you are speaking about as being a celebrity...not that it helped.
  22. When i saw the Manics live, i had "culture of destruction" spray-painted on to my t-shirt. It shows more than you just like a band enough to get their t-shirt, you read their lyrics, understand their views. Agree with their music. For Flogging Molly, I've got one of their t-shirts. Dunno if I'll wear it, I don't consider it to be 'cool' one way or the other really; doesn't bother me anyway. I will if i feel like it on the night.
