  1. Lamb of God are great, but God Forbid are shit-hot too. I go through phases of liking each one more.
  2. I once met a group of young kids. They had a motor-powered micro-scooter with a cd player and portable speaker set sellotaped to the back. A torch was stuck with more sellotape as neons and a can of deodrant on the side as N.O.S. We commended them on their cool as fuck scooters.
  3. I think it was like 180-200. I'm nae too sure, was a while ago. At the time I thought it was 200 but I just checked with a metronome, and I'm uncertain.
  4. That's still fast, and a good achievment! As for what's a metronome?, you really should know if you're playing at those speeds. You may know it as a click track? Calum, there are four "beats" in a bar. And when playing at 300 bpm you're playing 300 of those "beats." When a metronomeis set to play 300 bpm it's playing the three hundred or 75 bars at that speed. Speed, in this context anyway, is universally measured in 16ths. seeing as the click is currently playing the four beats, we have to put 4 hits to a beat for it to be at 16ths(in relation to a full bar). 4 X 4 = 16. You're then playing 16ths at whatever speed (in this case 300 bpm) and would be playing 4 hits to every beat, I.E., 300 x 4 equalling 1200 hits a minute.
  5. I'm heavily into speed, and I do know about fast guys, the likes of (mithras) but I am almost 100% certain you're counting wrong. By my tally, if you were to play 32nds for a whole minute, you would be playing: 32nds at 300 bpm equalling 8 strokes per "click" of a metronome. I.E. 300 x 8 = 2400 snare hits a minute or 40 a second. To put that into perspective, the current world record is a shy over 1200, or rougly 16ths at 300bpm. Making you twice as fast as the fastest in the world at the moment, Mr Mike Magini. I don't doubt that you're fast, but unless the mistake's on my side, you're counting wrong (or are a ridiculously prodigal speed-player.) I'm fairly sure I'm correct, I am like you, very into fast playing and have been working with metronomes with speed for a long time, as well as analysing other players' speeds and parts during songs.
  6. He was using some sort of Pintech electric kit, (I'm not too familiar with their lines though) along with Paiste cymbals - Signatures mainly and a Rude splash I think. He used what appeared to be pro-mark sticks. Not sure about the pedals, it says Iron-Cobras on the site but I thought they looked like single chain pedals on the night. On top of all that it seemed to be a Gibraltar rack with some Pearl and maybe Premier boom arms. I'm a bit of an drum-equipment geek.
  7. I've been practicing double bass, and can hit 200, although it's fairly sloppy for now. Thr eason I concentrate on that is more via influence from grind/extreme/death metal. There are some great players out there, good luck. As for "thrash punk drumming"...
  8. Aye, I looked like a fudd as I was stingy enough to not fork out for the cloak room and had my hoodie round my waist. Yet again though, I will iterate the fact that at a power-metal gig, lycra is fairly acceptable. I think I got off with it.
  9. There's no real unique features avaliable to set me apart at a DragonForce gig; Long blond hair, over 6 feet. Weaing a Bodom T-shirt.
  10. ...a lot better. I thoroughly enjoyed them. Looking forward to the album now.
  11. So, who's getting dressed up with faux-weapons/shields and making this a true warrior evening then?
  12. Try Bassment first, it's a pound cheaper. If it sways things.
  13. I'm going to play devil's advocate and make a small point: All people with long hair/slightly baggy clothes or a korn t-shirt are pathetic bastards who deserve a kicking for a bit of fun.
  14. You seem more annoying than many "NEDS" I've met to be honest.
  15. I had the same problem with my iRive, I will need to get it replaced.
  16. It looked considerably diminished by the end, probably spread over many shoes. I had a good night, was very impressed with Calum's blasts and thought Filthpact were fucking ace. Especially the dual growl/scream harmonies.
  17. I was down visiting recently too. I managed to get a monkey from a duplo lion, they're glued down really well.
