A very intelligent man put us somewhere between Army Of Flying Robots and Shikari, a comprison that's come up heaps although I'm not so sure myself. I think it is really, really good. I have been listening to it heaps and can't get enough. It's a lot less unique, and as such not really the Ion Dissonance sound I was expecting, as you say a lot more meshuggah-esque. However, I've been pretty surprised and no matter how much simpler it is it's just total crushing and violent.

100% agreed. I read heaps about plant based nutrition and know for a fact veg/vegan diets are entirely feasible. I admit there are plenty of really badly nourished veg/vegans but that doesn't mean it's not possible. Plenty of really unhealthy omnivores too, it's just about eating properly regardless of your dietary choices.

I haven't drank milk for nigh on 10 months now I think and I don't see any difference at all. I do eat a fair bit of veg cheese and sometimes yoghurt though so it follows that I wouldn't notice change.

You are of course right and I am aware that the calcium levels in some products aren't natural per se but the point remains that calcium in a vegan diet is entirely possible through their use/without dairy produce. I lent out all of my nutrition books and can't actually check how much greenery you need to consume to get high levels of calcium but if my memory serves me correctly it's not as unreasonable as you might assume.

Soyamilk, tofu and certain leafy greens can contain enough calcium to satisfy your needs in a balanced vegan diet.

Kit kats are suitable according to the Nestle site, will have to check that out.

This is probably true. Only the Mars and Snickers actually made in the U.K. (Indicated by first serial code letter "U") are suitable are veg at the moment anyway as the continental manufacturing plants have been using calves for their whey for a while apparently. That puts Mini + funsize mars out anyway, so it's not all that surprising that they've moved to the same practises here.

Thanks for ointing that one out. It has nothing to do with being a strict or "decent" vegetarian. These bars are not vegetarian in the most basic and true definition of the word so anyone who is a vegetarian will refrain from eating them. Eating calves stomach lining is exactly the same in principle as meat. If people do eat them then it is not a true vegetarian diet and they are not truly vegetarian, end of.

You're right theroetically although I too have never seen anyone bother. The problem is the sample would only be applicable at one tempo, and only for 16ths double bass. Kollias does use triggers, at least sometimes. I have certainly got a couple of videos where he does. For speed check this kid, 17 years old or so. I know it's two foot, but I've never seen anyone hit 270 with the feet and he has got some pretty speedy feet in other videos.

Of course it isn't necessary to let them die in such a brutal way, but I think it's fairly naive to expect any significant extension of mercy in an industry that does after all thrive on the murder and butchery of live animals. As someone mentioned earlier it is surely far more efficient and cost effective to slaughter the dolphins in such a vulgar way, and any company that scores capital from killing animals is going to have dubious capacity for interest in their welfare at the expense of profit. Are you really all that surprised? The point of a video like this is, and all the others, is to highlight a paticularly extreme case of inhumane treatment. The point is that seeing as it is pure sepculation as to whether the meat you consume comes from an offending abbatoir or not none of us really know what is going on behind those paticular walls and how the meat on your plate came to be. Of course there is gore and shock value, of course such things do not go on like this everywhere, but the point is they do happen. Full stop. These videos aren't staged. And that chance is enough to warrant genuine concern. And if you are as disgusted with such things as you imply there is a very feasible way to stop contributing to the factory farm industry that is within your power and a lot more rewarding than a rant on a message board. It goes iwthout saying that it is stop buying/consuming meat. No demand = no product, less demand = less product etc. Although I'd wager a bet very few who speak out so vehemently against such videos are willing to stand up to their moral convictions by putting it into practise. If you do, good luck to you and otherwise as I believe Teabags has been trying to say all along you are being pretty hypocritical in being so verbally opposed to such events when you are contributing towards on our own soil. Sorry for going on at length, and I realise I sound like a total militant cunt etc. But it is a serious issue and I think the point is worth raising in any thread set out to deal with animal cruelty.

I really like this tune, and the other one on your demo. It seems you have got your heads down and written a couple of simple, decent tunes (in comparison to your early stuff which I wasn't a paticular fan of). Not the most original, but very enjoyable. I look forward to hearing some other new stuff.

Cheers for all the replies. We're starting by giving a couple of folk a shot and seeing how that goes, we may well be in contact with you. I'm not sure who we sound like, certainly look to alot of the "newer" metal bands but don't think Avenged Sevenfold or anything. Try thinking of technical/riff-based metal as well known example indeed being Lamb Of God add some (tasteful) use of various harmonies etc. Some influence from hardcore stuff and the odd nod to more "quest" feeling stuff like Bodom.
