Fatal Fury special was and is a great game. The mechanics are not that clunky at all. As for art of fighting it is far more technical than people give it credit for. It was never about combos and fast gameplay. The emphisis was on the spirit bar and taunting to make your enemy weak. Lastly you can't overlook king of the fighters 94. That game is still class to this day.

In more xbox live news Fatal Fury Special (neo geo beat 'em up) is on live next wednesday, allegedly for 400 points. If they manage smooth online play this could be amazing for anyone that likes street fighter style games. On a side note there is a 'Labour Day' sale on xbox live arcade from sunday afternoon till the end of monday. The track on the site is good. It has the classic system sound to it. Heres hoping the rest of the album is good and doesn't veer off into novelty territory like some of system's latest work.

I only saw 2 pumpkins tunes as well. They played the whole razorlight set on friday so I was a bit miffed that the pumpkins didn't get the same treatment. I recorded the late night bbc3 coverage so maybe there will be some more in there, but I'm not holding my breath. They will proberly show some more CSS or some other flavour of the month band. Also the entire bbc presenting team were useless with the honerable exception of the affable chap with the tash.

I played the demo last night and was a bit underwhelmed. It is a good game, but it was never going to live up to the hype that it has been getting from all corners of the gaming press and the rabid Xbox fanboys. It is a good looking game and the art direction is amazing, but I'v seen it all before. Methinks it's a wait till it's 15 job!
