  1. Depeche Mode are genius. Faith and devotion is very good, but my personal highlight from their expansive back catalogue is Ultra. Overlooked by many but a very solid album and even more remarkable given what had gone before it.
  2. Just plain and simple shite mair like
  3. When south park is good it's brilliant, but the quality control just isn't there. I like american dad a lot, but personally I have always favoured King of the Hill. It's far more laid back and like a 'proper' sitcom, but I find it very amusing.
  4. I'v caved. Tomorrow (postal ineptitude notwithstanding), I should be in possesion of this game. Just in time for my 11 days off work. Back of the net!
  5. Most amusing!! THere could be a regular thread on this theme. 'Farmyard Hairstyles'.
  6. I can feel myself buckling. I'm so tempted to get this soon. The only problem is virtua fighter is out this week and that will proberly need my full investment of time...
  7. I'm kinda tempted to pick this up on 360, but it will proberly be after the festive period. I'v got virtua fighter 5 and call of duty 4 on order and don't have too much spare cash flowing. With any luck I will get it a bit cheaper by then too.
  8. Oh, yeah and to answer the first question they played Kef (or the works or whatever it was called in that era), and they also supported Mansun at the beach ballroom.
  9. A classic band. They also released 'Subtitles' them there was a name change to 'Voy', a couple of singles then they split up. I'm sure i'v said this before on here, but a couple of members of the band went on to form 'Fridge Mountain Fires' who, to my knowledge, have not gigged outside Liverpool yet.
  10. I'm not a massive FPS fan, but played the cod4 beta and loved it. I have a pre order in for it and can't wait. THe only two xbox360 games I'm planning to get on release before christmas is cod4 and virtua fighter 5 (which there is now a demo of).
  11. Right went in to see this last night. The original is one of my favorite films, and I loved house of 100 Corpses and the devils rejects. With that out the way this film was bloody awful on many levels. As a re- imagining it didn't work. The original told you more about Myers in it's first 10 mins than this film did in the first hour. Attempts to flesh out the character of Michael were clumsy and the whole drunken/abusive father angle was just a cop out. The script was very bad and showed none of the flair that Zombie's previous movies had. On top of that the pacing was awful with the start and end seemingly lasting for an age, with hardly any middle. The character of Laurie was painfully paper thin, and there was no development of her. There was some attempts to recreate some of the key scenes of the 70's version but they felt clumsy. The only redeaming factors were a couple of good cameos and Malcolm McDowell who put in a very good performance despite the material.
  12. I used to have super robin hood for my c64. I believe it was in the 'Quattro' Budget packs you used to get by codemasters when every second game had the word 'simulator' tagged onto the end of it. I remember a couple of absolute corkers on that series of compilations. Ninja scooter, which was a side scrolling trick/avoid the obsticles game and ninja massacre which was an ace gauntlet clone. With ninjas.
  13. Rob Zombie billed it as a "Re imagining" of the first film. I'm going to see it tonight so I'll give my impressions tomorrow.
  14. I thought Annie Christian had split up. Been a while since I heard that name. Almost inspired to dig out their album. "Nothings Real" ALWAYS on first hour at ye olde monday night Mudd Club! *edit* or "Love this Life"
  15. I had 3 PS1's and 4 360's. THe 360 is the WORST built machine ever, bar none. I always keep top notch care of my machines and the 4 360's were within 6 months.
  16. Not a fan. I'd rather have the games the way they were. I collect so emulations not really an option for me.
  17. I'v done the whole seeling and buying back thing on multiple formats. Selling my snes from the first time around was my biggest regret, so much so that I now have a uk snes, us snes, jap snes and over 200 games for them just to make sure.
  18. I can sympathise with you. I'm the master of 'console regret'. I once sold my dreamcast and a collection of around 40 top games. I now again own a dreamcast and over 80 games. When I see or trade in games I usually end up buying them again. I'm a hoarding bastard and I wish I wasn't!
  19. I enjoy 'psychobilly freakout' and the 'beast and the harlot' in guitar hero 2. THey are pretty rock hard on the high difficulties though.
  20. Just stick in and eventually you will get there! Once expert 'clicks' medium will seem very slow and easy. ......and while we are on the subject of guitar hero, number 3 is out in about a month or so.
  21. .....or even better piss loads of people off on 'Teh internet'
  22. I personally think their is space for the 360 and the wii. I own both, but as a multiplayer console (not online), the 360 just doesn't cut it. The online multiplayer is amazing but there is a serious lack of games for 'games nites'. The wii on the other hand is great both in single and multiplayer. Watching a room full of people play wario ware on the wii is perhaps the most amusing video games experience ever. Each to their own and all that, but the wii has done more to forward the acceptability of video gaming to the mainstream in the last year than any other company, and in my eyes that is a very good thing.
  23. Out now: Wario Ware Excite truck Wii sports Resident evil 4 Kornicopia Coming soon: Smash Brothers Paper Mario Wii fit Mario Kart Metroid and thats just what springs to mind at the moment. It's the games that make the difference.
