  1. i didn't actually rate you as the worst, was just agreeing with maxi that i didn't find your style particularly interesting. i'll be singing at some point in september or october at drake's open mic night with james of radio lucifer/deadloss/tar fame on guitar. i'll let you know ahead of time when we're gonna do it, and you can come rate my voice if you like.
  2. i really like your piece phillip. it does have a total hitchcock feel to it. can me and james possibly use it in the soundtrack to our zombie movie? lepeep, i can't get your file at all. when i right click i'm only allowed to save a 404 error html file.
  3. was that you sitting next to all us? at the little bench seat with two tables practically touching like a parisian cafe?
  4. Get in the Motherfuckin' ring where we partied on the roof, ripped chris' boxers off him and pinned them to bri's wall and chris demonstrated how a man could suck his own cock. (he didn't actually suck his own cock, but lay on his back and threw his legs over his head while declaring "you'd have to do it like this!" Eating takeaway pasta and drinking cheap sparkling wine while wearing a makeshift female santa outfit with brian on christmas eve. Sitting in bri's room all night when i was meant to be studying, listening to bon jovi live and waiting for chris to get home from a post-air guitar shenanigan. The walk home was a different story. Watching football with Goldblade in the smoking lounge.
  5. rico, the finnish boomhauer's are so much better than the dundee ones. the singer wore a string vest! they sold a lot of cds on sunday. i would definately check them out again.

  7. Boomhauher kicked so much ass and were charming men. radio lucifer sound so much mightier with the new line-up.
  8. yeah, my mum speaks to him quite a lot. the whole anger thing and talking to himself is an after-effect of either the gulf or the falklands war. not sure which, but he was a sergeant or something else well high up and something triggered in him after the war and he went a bit mental. he's always saying how he wishes he could just go back to the army, cos apparently it was his life but they let him go because of his mental health. he still keeps army regiment, and gets up every morning well early and walks into town and then walks home in the evening. he's well good at photography though. there's also the drunk woman from king street, always seen on the arm of a different king street tramp. i think she gives sex to whoever shares their beer. i'm sure one of my friends saw her and some guy shagging down somerfield terrace or something. she regularly takes her shoes off and throws them into the bushes by safeway.
  9. walking down george street with swingin' ryan, we spotted him and just as we passed comment, he picked up a phone and started speaking on it. 'hello. is it me your looking for?' well he didn't say that, but we wished he had.
  10. cool! groovie ghoulies rock! i haven't listened to them since i did radio in LA.
  11. at the moment houston by deadloss, devil's own by the tijuana switchblades and road story by radio lucifer.
  12. mine too. my first rock gig was bon jovi, about 1996/97 in Glasgow. First local was TAR and Eradicate at Drakes, 1999.
  13. i thought the wrecking ball was ace! really good atmosphere and good tunes. didn't catch any of adam's set because i was seeing deadloss at drake's but with the exclusion of slade, it was an ace night.
  14. i miss the old boar. i spent every free period i had in 6th year at school, sitting downstairs, constantly looking at the feet coming down the stairs to see if it was someone you knew. and it was always busy so i don't understand why the owners thought a trendy makeover would be worthwhile. from what i've seen, it's never as busy anymore. and there's no atmosphere. the best thing i ever saw on belmont street was the van full of raw doner being delivered to the kebab shop. patrick boo was with me at the time at his look was a combination of horror and fascination.
  15. festr were great with murray, mac and len, but i'm hoping we'll get a chance to see them in their full and not too drunken glory at least once before spoonie goes back to glasgow. deadloss were great as always, and i'm loving the new songs. cayto were really talented musicians and they had really well arranged songs but it wasn't my thing. broken sunshine were a lot better than i was expecting. i think give em a year of really hard practising and they'll be like a mini donnas. the harmonies were really tight and their voices go really well together. would be nice to see the bass player sing a little more lead, maybe do more of the dual lead they had in the first song they played, cos she's got a great little voice.
  16. ahhhh i forgot it's cool to not like anything these days.

    Movies

that's a fucking great idea. could you get in kitsch movies too, like beyond the valley of the dolls or anything by john waters? ooh and princess bride, labarynth, the dark crystal. maybe once every couple months have a particularly kitsch movie night and encourage people to dress up for it. you should certainly encourage people to dress up for rocky horror picture show too. when people get a chance to dress up and make an effort, they tend to drink more.
