My reading has taken a severe hit since having a kid, I think I dropped down to around 20ish books this year. Usually I'm too knackered to read more than 10 pages or so a night before I start slipping off into slumberland.
I don't have a problem with the marketing, the hype, the shock value (ethics aside and mass consumerism being the polar opposite of punk), I do have a problem with their beer being shit though. That's personal opinion though, others can obviously like what they like etc.
I thought the venue was SNAFU, which was hardly a mid-sized venue, unless it's had a major internal redisgn the stage was in a less than optimum position for maximum crowd coverage. Anyone in the know with details, I don't get out on the casual as much as I used to.
He played one game, realised how shite we were and got Hep C or something and fucked of back to Holland to live in a caravan with Marco Boogers (or some other mythical football malarkey).
It all stems from the sales between January and September (Armstrong, Mackay-Steven and Ciftci) and not renewing a couple of players contracts (Czerniak and Fojut). The whole spine of the team went in less than a year and threw any gelled squad out of the window. The signings, while decent in the most part, haven't started playing together and the talented players (Connelly, Spittal and Telfer) are too young to shoulder the burden of sparking the creativity of the squad completely.
That coupled with the fact that Dillon and Rankin have been hiding all season and Paton had that court case hanging over his head meant that Jackie Mac unjustly got the dunt IMHO. Now we've replaced him with Mixu, who seems intent on sapping any creativity out of the team in favour of playing 6 defenders. I would maybe be at peace with that decision if we weren't being scored on like cheap hookers during happy hour.
Shite season is shite. Fully expecting Championship football next season.
Yes, I thought Season 1 was ok, didn't see it getting a second series but when it did I thought I'd keep watching. 2nd series is leagues ahead of the 1st, it seems to have grown considerably into its story. Fingers crossed it carries on like it is, not even sure if the 3rd series has been greenlit?
I'm neither here nor there with them to be honest. If it helps someone get through the drudgery of their mundane and depressing life then great, if you like them just for fun fair enough, no skin off my nose.
I'm not sure about the new Grimes album. I really, really want to like it but it's not ticking the boxes for me at the moment, I will persevere though, hopefully it's a grower. I loved her single "Go", if the album had been mostly like that I'd've been all over it like stink on a monkey!
I think it depends on what type of music you're going for but I've found synth-bass works quite well on some stuff. There's space for both in songs too.
