Stroopy121
Sorry, Guitar head.Tiny Terror IS a guitar head. Terror Bass is the bass model. RnB have a guitar one at a cracking price too. Sure it's only £300-400 or so, but I'm not sure of what wattage that model is.http://www.gak.co.uk/en/orange-dual-terror-guitar-tube-amplifier-head/21997http://www.gak.co.uk/en/orange-tiny-terror/4913xx
Chris
I have a Dual Terror. Great range of tone and very versatile power settings (2 or 4 tubes, half or full power giving 7, 15 or 30 watts). Love it.
keeno
Anyone got a good recommendation for a small head that packs a punch? Easy enough to take on the bus but can bring the pain when need be?If you frequent Captain Toms I may let you try out some of my stuff as I live reasonably near by. I have a 4W Matamp that can demolish houses and is pretty small. Depending on what sound you are wanting may need a boost though, it doesn't really do much beyond crunch. I've also got a preamp in a pedal that sounds pretty good and can do everything from cleans-crunch-metal in it's 3 channels. I run it through a 3watt power amp in a pedal but you can get 44 watt pedals (Electro Harmonix 44 Magnum) so in 2 pedals you could have a super portable, super flexible, loud as hell rig. Or just buy a line 6 pod HD or something and run it direct, but I prefer pedals myself.
Soda Jerk
Egnater have a range of very affordable mini-heads. I've not used any of them, but I have the Renagade, and it's a beaut. Their whole range seems to get great feedback.http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_amps_detail.asp?stock=11060714360439http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_amps_detail.asp?stock=12071216463747Those two both have £100 and £69 knocked of the price respectively. as one is ex-display, and the other is ex-demo. Scoop!I wouldn't fancy taking one of them on a bus. They are pretty heavy compared to the options that have been suggested here so far. Can't find an exact weight for the Tweaker but the Rebel 20 is about 10kg. If you are carrying that for any significant length of time it would get pretty tiring. Tiny Terror is half that weight. Pedals are even lighter.Of course now being an AMT fanboy and loving their pedals if you want Orange tone in a portable format can't go wrong with one of these! http://amtelectronicsusa.com/productpageo2.html
Soda Jerk
Fair dos. I've never lifted one. Only seen them, but they look tiny. What are they putting in there to bulk it up to 10kg?That said, I used to take my DSL50 on the bus when I used to live in Tillydrone. That thing weighed 3 stone. Unfun. MikeyEB
You guys are pansies. I've been known to cart my AC15 (25kg), pedal board and guitar on the bus before now. You can get wee trollies for moving amps and whatnot over long distances. Pretty much a must in the Seas, Starry camp.

Old Gold
If my amp was 10 kg, I'd walk down the street tossing it in the air like a silver dollar. You have to pay for tone. In BLOOD.Might I recommend shelling out the clams on a Matamp Minimat. It fits in a modestly sized backpack. Although if it's the same friend that tried the piss poor 'ID my 2 year old' argument, tell him to fuck off.
Jaaakkkeee
Rhetorical question.NO, I was saying "yes" as I was delighted by your choice of words. You used "innit" to make a rhetorical question, yet, if you used the words "in it", it would have made sense and I found that marvelous.

TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
In reference to this thread: http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/musicians-corner/63721-cheap-les-pauls.html , I thought I would make the appropriate thread.I'll kick off with this:It's a Zvex Seek Trem, and it is sort of a part sequencer, part tremolo. It looks hugely tweakable, and I bet I could get loads of great/crazy sounds out of it, especially when combined with delay and phaser. Here is a demo of it: However, I've only seen them online for around 220, eeek!Quoting the first post of this thread, I am still keen on buying one of these. I may have to bite the bullet and get one from eBay. UNLESS someone can recommend me another left field tremolo pedal.

Jaaakkkeee
G'wan yersel!I mean, I did see that sm57 on here for sale for cheap. But googled and found that the sm58 was a better all rounder. If there's something better that's same price or cheaper, please, do tell.
