Wow they must be pretty essential to your "sound".

C'mon, i'll give you straps but plectrums and leads do actually affect your sound. If you are using too heavy a grade plectrum it can sound very clunky. And you of all people should know about the quality of leads and how poor quality leads can have an adverse effect on sound.

Poor show

I don't give a toss what brand of leads or plectrums anyone is using, letalone the finer details of their guitar strap, and frankly anyone who feels the need to mention such things, especially someone who doesn't record or perform, in their list of gear is obviously a complete twunt.

What are you gibbering about you absolute buffoon?

If you have no understanding of what i picked you up on then you clearly don't understand live music at all, or playing technique using different types of plectrum and your understanding of recording analogue sources is also very, very suspect.

Are you bored tonight or are you just being stupid for stupid's sake?

Clown.

Oh right, so you do actually care what brand of lead and guitar strap Mouse is using?

I personally don't care, but someone on here might. It is part of his "gear" so i don't really think it's worth ridiculing him over. Some of your bits and bobs may be of no interest to other people as well.

If you have no real reason for contributing to this thread other than to mock someone's set-up, I honestly don't see the point in you posting in it.

Frankly I think anyone who has in interest in the brand of plectrum, cable or strap someone uses is missing the point.

We're going round in circles here. Let's just face facts, you're out of your depth for a change.

Yeah I fully admit I'm not completely familiar with the importance of the brand name of cable, strap or plectrum you use and how it affects your sound, perhaps you could enlighten me?

I think we can all agree that earlier on i said i'd give you the whole strap thing. Though i guess an uncomfortable/badly positioned strap could have an adverse effect upon your playing and therefore affect your overall sound.

As for leads, good brands=well made leads with better shielding, build quality, durability etc etc Vey important for an analogue set-up. Not so important for digital set-ups.

Plectrums, brand not that important in my opinion, thickness very important in regard to your playing style. For example, you don't want to sound like you're playing with an ashtray.

That ok for you?

Is there a big difference between a digital and analogue setup when it comes to TRS cabling then?

Have you seen a lot of 60-100mm plectrums then? My ashtray isn't even 25mm tall so these must be some pretty far out specialist plectrums the guy is using.

Given that TRS connectors are only used on analogue cabling i'm not quite sure what you're getting at. Care to elaborate further?

My "digital" project studio, like any other, involves a lot of "analogue" cabling. I have balanced TRS cables running between my audio interface, my mixer, and my monitors, and in a "digital" studio environment where there may be lots of electromagnetic interference generated by devices such as computers, displays, powersupplies etc balanced cables are are essential. I used some fairly cheap generic (as I said I forget the brand) cabling and I have zero problems with noise, to the extent that I don't need to mention the cables or their brand name in my list of gear because I take for granted that people don't give a shit about such trivial things - unless of course you're a long haired student with a guitar, amp and 100mm plectrums.
