Chi 666
Internatinal Casino barstaff are decent people I take it you don't work there. Barstaff take a lot less abuse than doorstaff, barstaff have more protection.Maybe the doorman was pissed off because he paid money to see you guys play and was refused a refund at some pointor maybe you 'were' just being a cock like most people who get thrown out of pubs and clubs your arguments will always show yourself in a good light conduct wise.yes i do.i like the way you took a normal disscusion and turned it into a personal argument. classy
melon_fist
Heres a thought for youThey don't have to allow you into the club, when they do it is compulsory to follow their rules.Getting into a club is a privilege not a right, if you don't follow the rules they have the right to ask you to leave and you must complyDo you think all doorstaff agree with all rules of all venues they work in? I tell you that they don't but they have a job to do(you know to make money and pay bills etc...), they are there to make sure the small minority do not ruin the nights out of the majority. Yes you do get complete power mad people doing it but they are the small minority.A member of doorstaff is going to know and understand the rules better than any member of barstaff, managers generally liaise directly with the door team and will discuss the rules, there is a high probability that when the no hats rule was brought in it was discussed between them with a few people giving reasons for and against.at the end of the day you were being disrespectful and you were dealt with appropriatelyI have to disagree. A privilege? they would make no money if it wasn't for people going in. This rule is retarded. No hats, no trainers. It's very discriminating. You could dress in whatever the hell you want, get accepted and cause a lot of trouble or have hair covering your face. The problem with these clubs is that they stereotype so many people and they're just going to lose money.Moshulu IS going downhill. It's crap now.As for bouncers, well they just love the commotion. Fact.
sexytunk
I think you can look at it both ways. I think if someone is in the face of a doorman you can ask them to leave, if they refuse you at least have the power to remove them.I think bar staff have to put up with just as much crap as door staff, if thats possible. But not only do they have to smile and bare it to a certain extent, they are also not getting paid very well for the privelage. And sure you'll get the odd bad apple, but isn't this the same with any job in any industry? I certainly wasn't trying to start a Door V Bar staff debate. Working in a busy club or bar full of drunken bodies isn't the easist job in the world, it requires a great deal of patience.

lovers_spit
My uncle's a bouncer and he said a lot of them pick on folk so they can have a laugh about it. Therefore, it's not bullshit but fact.Maybe its not fact for every bouncer, but maybe your uncle is just a thug, a bully and a general cunt? Lemonade
I think bouncers do get a hard time, especially as a lot of people seem to see them all as brainless idiot thugs. I really hate when I see some jumped up little student prick trying to belittle a bouncer in front of his mates and trying to act as though he is so much better and more intelligent than the bouncer. "How dare you put your hands on me, imbecile!" A lot of the bouncers I know are at University and work doors to pay their way through Uni. The streotype of thick cunts working on doors cos they are too stupid to do anything else is very very outdated.**Again, except the ones in Exodus who are a bunch of cunts. Inkster
I used to work in a bar and got on with the bouncers really well and asked them about the whole pickin on people thing and they agreed with it. They said they get bored and do it for a laugh. It might be someone's hair, shoes, jeans or socks but they would just refuse the guy and use the age old "we don't have to give a reason, you're just not getting in tonight.maybe nother night though".So yes, it does happen. Not everyone does it but some do. I guess it passes the time...
sexytunk
It's the managers who make the rules, they have the right to refuse whoever they want, It's the law! It's just the door staff who are on the front line if you like that get the flack! And can i just add that i know hundreds of guys who have worked the doors with me, and have only met a few with this attitude. Could be a case of some saddo doorman thinking it makes him hard and trying to impress you.
Guest Neutral
yes i do.i like the way you took a normal disscusion and turned it into a personal argument. classyAnything can be personal if you want it to be.The majority of doorstaff are good people, the majority of people who complain are cuntsAnd to the one whose uncle is a bouncer, you're an idiot.Barstaff do not have to fork out almost half a grand to be allowed to work and then about quarter every 3 years from a private company run by people more idiotic than the person with an uncle who is a bouncer, and worse punctuality than meMost of the time if someone says they didnt do something and got harshly thrown out they are either lying or were too drunk to remember, however in a minority of incidents they are telling the truth. Since your story changed after a few posts i think you lie Its not your club you have no right to be there, you have no right to enter the vast majority of buildings in this world

When the old Aberdeen Union used to be open I got refused from there for being too drunk when I was completely sober. I finshed work at 10, was at the place by 10:15 and got refused. I was told to go get a bag of chips have a wander around for 20 minutes, come back and they might let me in. Went up to RGUnion, played Virtua Striker went back and got allowed in with a happy birthday to boot since it was the day after my 18th. Pricks! Surprising they didn't, since there all thugs like!wise up. you and the poster Neutral are being bams here and over-reacting. Chi's story sounds like he's being perfectly reasonable and it was the bouncer who was being the cunt. Its clearly not a lie as nearly everyone has at some point experienced a bouncer who, for whatever petty reason, has been too heavy handed. a bouncer in moshulu for example recently ejected me and a friend for 'dancing inappropriately'. the dancefloor was literally empty and we standing in a line doing that 'pass the electricity' dance thing. we were fairly drunk yet still accepted the decision and made our way out only to be grabbed and pushed towards the door. and as for Elwood, i think the Exodus bouncers that are 'cunts' have been replaced with a new team. Maybe not, and maybe its the current lot you think are the cunts but recently the bouncers there have been amazingly sound. The black guy, think he's the head bouncer these days, is absolutely brilliant in my experience and everything a doorman should be. Its increased my enjoyment in Exodus a fair amount as well knowing that i'm not going to get hurled down the stairs for whatever reason, which never happened to me but a fair few of my mates suffered their wrath.i dont have a problem with doorstaff in general. the only time i've been kicked out of a place was that moshulu incident, and they've generally called it right when i've been refused entry for drunkness. however, i have seen some dispicable acts carried out by some. Priory doorman only letting girls in when there was a queue if he got to cope a feel of their busty attributes. Being Priory girls they didn't mind but it disgusted me.A group of Pearl Lounge door staff kicking the absolute shit out of a drunken punter. No matter what this guy was doing it definitely didn't warrant the beating i seen there. And as for the hat rule. Its plain stupid and needs to be reviewed then abolished. Guest bluesxman
Its bizarre that a place like Moshulu, where the crowd often contains folk who look like extras from Mad Max 2, should decide to have a no hats policy, but thats life. Go somewhere else. The fact that the place still remains open despite having toilet water dripping through the ceiling to the room below is incredible, should surely warrant the dump being shut down on health and safety grounds until they fix the situation? sexytunk
Hey man, sorry if you think I'm over reacting! I am speaking in the most on this subject from experience. Of course your gonna get the odd twat of a doorman, thats life. I just feel that the point has to be made that on the whole guys on the door are decent guys, out to make an honest buck. I just don't see why we all have to be tarred with the same brush cause of a few bad apples! I have worked on the door as i have said for a hell of a long time, and not once have i deliberately started trouble, or went out of my way to over react to something, and in my experience most guys are the same. Sorry for going on, but this is a big issue to me, I hate the fact when i tell people I'm a part time doorman that they think I'm in it to look hard, be a bully or cause I'm a thug. I do it because i want my family to have a good life, and its easy money. Most of us are the same.
jf9tp2wd40
Exp bouncers did indeed used to be pricks, but the staff there for the last 6 months or so have been awesome! the big guy (or 'cunt' as he has now became known to all my friends) is one of the nicest guys ever. They are pretty good at dealing with all teh problems ive seen, and i havent witnessed any punters being lobbed down the stairs recently!and as a bonus, a couple of them are smokers, so when your lighter breaks at the start of the night before the smoking area is full, you always get a light
Lemonade
Aye, admittedly I haven't been in Exo in over a year, probably closer to two, the main reason I quit going is because I hated the asshole bouncers. I know they had a contract with Option 1 security to supply their door staff, maybe they've changed contracts, or hired their own. I'll maybe take a saunter in sometime, the massive queue on a Friday night usually puts me off though.
