Graeme
I've heard it at gigs and more than one band has used it. Who started it? Where did it originate?

KimyReizeger
Nah, kidding aside, it was me. Just started saying it at the bus stop one day. Don't know why, just did you know, totally random, like a whispered-shout sort of thing, staring at everyone's faces, bobbing my head like a serial killer. Jamie
Well pointed out, that chant is horrendous, has taken the sheen off many a good night (most recently for me Green Velvet at Snafu. First times I heard it were in the Slam tent at TITP, probably around 1997/98. Rightly or wrongly I'll always regard it as a Weedgie thing. Jamie
How it goes? I don't know it.Seriously?"Here we, here we, here we fucking go" repeated over and over and FUCKING over and over, till you wish a huge spiked wrecking ball would hurtle into the venue and smash those grinning idiots faces to fucking smithereens, taking you with it so that the memory of the hideous drone spoiling the music is erased for ever.or maybe that's just me. Seriously though, whenever I've heard it the chanters don't even put any effort or aggression into it, like they are just mumbling along for the sake of something to do. Graeme
I've heard at least two bands doing it as well. One on record, one live.
Jamie
Who? The Fratellis and The View by any chance? (not that I'd imagine you're into those kind of bands Graeme).
Bodast
Seriously?Yeah... must have completely passed me by. I'm sure now I know about it I'll notice. Sounds pretty strange and rubiss tbh.

(not that I'd imagine you're into those kind of bands Graeme). You might imagine wrong there! But no, it was The Aphrodisiacs live and Glasvegas do it on their poptastic "Go Square Go!" single. Alan Cynic
I can imagine the Aphrodisiacs doing it...a wild bunch of laddies:laughing:They certainly put the wind up Thomas Truax!!
Old Gold
Also contrary to the View/Fratellis guess, I heard the offending chant on a Saberpulse video. The audience members can be pitied and not mocked however: they are after all silly enough to be "'avin it large" to a skinny chap fiddling with a Gameboy. Tsk. Jamie
The "one more tune" chant is perfectly acceptable though IMO, but only at the end of a set of course. Would be very odd in the middle, though i suppose it could be an alternative to the slow hand clap or booing in a set you weren't enjoying. Pierre Von Mondragon
Sounds like a retarded version of the old football chant "Here we Go Here we Go Here we GoHere we Go Here we Go Here we Goo-oahHere we Go Here we Go Here we Go Here we Go HERE WE GO"Which DEFINITELY predates AFC's Gothenberg victory in '83, and was sung a great deal by Dons fans at the time, though to be fair, There we Went, and succesfully to boot. I'm not claiming that Dons fans invented it, but we spread it around a bit, must have been the optimism in the air at the time.PS for anyone who hasn't heard it, it goes to the tune of some marching band style gubbins I don't know the title of. Jamie
That's a different tune Mondragon. The Here We Fucking tune is a lot more staccato, with the first two "here we"s each followed by a pause, then "here we FUCKING go". Similar to "We're Leeds United, we'll never be divided""The Here we go, here we go, here we go" chant that I also attribute to early '80s Dons fans, is, I think, actually to the tune of Three Cheers for the Red, White & Blue (ironic huh?) or to give it it's proper name - Columbia, Gem of the Ocean (thanks Google)Lyrics and Music
Pierre Von Mondragon
One could argue that the newer one is merely derivative of the elder tune, but, kenfitlike, I could argue about most things if inclined. Speaking of which, you at work, sure I am.
