The only thing happy and positive about this thread is that it makes you look like a slimy little scenster, i'm sure the rest of spike would be ashamed at some of your crawling habits on here.

as a thread point, bands that make me smile:

Onion Terror- i know Chewbacca isn't there's but it sooooooooo funny

Spike Pile Driver- 30 second songs, utter bollocks but amusing nonetheless

Stayover- Bring on the sluts, nuff said.

:D

Hog isn't a slimy, little scenester. He's a tall, balding scenester who's just trying to get laid. :)

your band (just so fucking aggressive without even trying ....seemingly)

sidca (a lovely warm fuzzy sensation)

MHG (cute and disturbing at the same time)

Beastman (so fucking out there)

Terminal X (pure extreme retroism with genius words)

AKA The Fox (''the benefit of benefits'' - sez it all)

problee cos all have some sense of irony amongst the extreme-ness

Radio Lucifer - much rock, me happy

Deadloss Superstar - shambolic rock at its finest

Onion Terror - they have fun, and so do the crowd

Le Reno Amps - good tunes, good banter, good times

Were a walking irony. Sometimes people take the above band names a little too seriously

Keeping in the local-ish theme of it all.

The Upstarts, because they're back and oh so ska.

The 44s - they don't do bad shows, and have the best crowds.

Le Reno Amps - fresh, funky, happy.

Misled Youth - JUST BECAUSE, OK.

10 Easy Wishes - 2nd only to Stayover for the most vocal harmonies... always put on a pleasing show.

Quik.

The only 2 ("local") bands that have ever made me smile are:

Black Atom (before I joined them) at a kef gig - where they were so amazing and the songs were so catchy and get-into-able that I was grinning for the whole set.

And X-certs, at the tunnels the other day. I have never ever before watched an Aberdeen band and just thought that they should be doing that on a big stage across the Uk. But the x-certs were just amazing...and I'm not even really into the sort of music they are playing. I really hope they 'make it' because they have everything it takes to be a pro successful band. Good luck to them.

(actually Alyssa's Wish played a few gigs when I thought they really should have been known on an national level)

oh yeh forgot those two, but I dunno if Werewolf Corpse make me smile in a normal way or grin like a demented person about to cut open a freshly killed asylum guard

MART songs get me laughing (with him, not at him)

Lots of bands cause me good emotional upheaval (eg Delicate Awol the other night, Kathryn Sawers every gig, Sidca, the Euan etc), but for smileification (?) I'd second Spike Pile Driver, Project Ven-Hell and Sidca, plus add the Downroads :D:love: :]

edited to add Hooker's Green and Staccato Set.....both make me happy.....did anybody else see the Staccato Set one when Simon Gall was on keyboards, translating the song in to bad German???

Guest Scorge Spike

Alan Cynic - the only person who has kept me laughing for the entire duration of a song. Genuis.

Failing that, I'd say Risactonia usually prompt a smile, probably the odd erection.

I also concur with Joe on FesTr.
