  1. I'll take it - do you live central? Could pick it up tonight
  2. I liked Bane's voice, and did think it was quite menacing at times. As an acting performance by Hardy, I don't think anyone was going to be better than Ledger's performance but he was still pretty good. I thought the bit at the end where JGL says 'use my real name, Robin' was a bit corny and uneccesary - it was fairly obvious from the part where he said that he knew Wayne was Batman that Blake was going to be Robin. Like the fact that Nolan has left the door wide open for another episode but I don't see it happening for a long time, if at all. It was nice at the end where Alfred got his 'happily ever after'. I rate it better than Batman Begins but not as good as The Dark Knight (mainly because Ledger as Joker is the best acting performance I've ever seen, in my opinion)
  3. I fucking love the Blues Brothers. Seeing as Milner has bagsied the drums, can I play tambourine. Just want to wear a Blues Brothers suit tbf
  4. Definitely. I adopted a similar method while downing a glass of jack daniels and cigarette ash for £50 when I was 18. Caker.
  5. I'd do a glass of piss for £1000. Just hold your nose and get it down.
  6. My brother drank a pint of someone else's spew for £100. I doubt i'd do it for £1000
  7. Behave yourself. It's relevant to the thread about bands not backstabbing each other constantly.
  8. The 'togetherness' of bands is still happening in some places - my band (Uniform) have played with Audiokicks and they're supporting us in a couple of weeks in return - nice guys too. We also got quite pally with Human Furniture (who have since split) and never made it to play a gig with them. We've never had a bad experience playing with any other bands in Aberdeen (barring one gig which I won't go into) and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the other bands and hearing their feedback on our stuff, as well as giving our feedback on their stuff. The Aberdeen scene is a bit better now than it was a few years ago after Drakes and Kef died. Plenty of decent wee bands round Aberdeen now and not everyone (although a lot do) sounds the same. Outwith Aberdeen, it can be a struggle - we recently booked a Scottish tour and it was a nightmare booking venues then having them cancel on you (although this may be because we booked everything through our singer's promotions company). We've even got local support for our Glasgow gig from the Miss Lucid guys (who are classed as local support) and are taking another Aberdeen band on the road with us to support us. I'm a big believer in 'helping other local bands out as long as they're decent' and we will continue to do this when we can. We've landed a support slot with a pretty decent Dunfermline based band in August and they're also well into local support and helping out other Scottish bands. In saying that, there are some right fucking arseholes in other bands in Aberdeen who take the piss with the 'my band's better than your band' mentality. I attend as many gigs as I can during the week in Aberdeen, perhaps the advantage of living smack bang in the middle of town helps this though.
  9. Tonight - home for the football. Was meant to be playing Slains but our singer can't make it. Still might venture down and see what like Tomorrow - nothing planned for the day. Playing Tunnels at night with Audiokicks and Miss Lucid. Get supremely pished after Sunday - die and watch the F1 Those ducklings above are fucking ace.
  10. Ladies and Gents, Our Micro Korg packed in last night and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to lend us one for a couple of weeks as we have gigs coming up? In return for thiswe can chuck a bit of money your way if required Cheers
  11. I can speak to Mike Loszak on Thursday night if you want - we're doing a gig with Eskimo Blonde (and him obviously) so can pass on details if you want? PM me
  12. I'm an exceptional baker. Worked in the kitchens at John Lewis when I was at college doing the baking. Best. Job. Ever.
  13. Don't use Factory Direct Kitchens. Expensive and shite.
  14. Eskimo Blonde for me. They're doing a 'comeback' gig in a couple of weeks too
  15. Tomorrow - gig at RGU Union then out on the lash. We're not on til 11pm. Saturday - quietly die in the morning, maybe out for dinner and a movie in the evening Sunday - start moving my stuff into my girlfriend's place
  16. Aye see I don't like using a fusion kit (personally). I also couldn't get the blood off the floor tom My sticks look ace now though haha! Room 3 has posters on the roof of several gigs I've been to over the years - genuinely got a little excited when I saw one for The Relatives that I'd been to years and years ago. Also, my mates' band Mesta.
  17. Room 2 and 3 are my personal favourites. Don't think I've ever been in room 1. The studio set ups pretty good too. We always rehearse on a Wednesday and guessing there's always someone in room 1 at the same time as us. Yeah, they still have the Halloween carpet.
  18. Hi Jake, thought you'd like this
  19. Q) – Given the option, would you rather pay more to use state of the art equipment, or less to use more basic equipment? A) - Obviously you'd like to pay less for more but ultimately that doesn't happen. I'd pay a little more to use better equipment but wouldn't go overboard. Q)- Would you be interested in some sort of membership/loyalty scheme that gave you discount on practice rooms? Definitely Q)- How far would you be willing to travel to get to good recording studio? I live in town so the closer the better for me. Saying that, we went to Fraserburgh to record our single and was well worth the travelling. But if ultimately we got a better studio, I'd go anywhere. Looking at Glasgow/Perth for our next recording. Q)- How much would you be willing to pay to use our recording studio for an hour, day and week? Depends on what's included. We paid £200 a day to record our single. Well worth it though. Studio could've done with some fucking heating though, was freezing. Q)- What other local recording studio have you used? Captain Tom's and Floor Tom Studios are the only ones I've used. Q)- Did you find there was anything those recording studio lacked, or needed improvement on? Not really - we only did a live recording at Tom's and you get what you pay for. The Floor Tom recording was ace though. Q)- How often do you use recording studios? Or how often would you use recording studios if one was locally available? b) Once every six months Q) – How often do you use band practise rooms? Or how often would you use band practice rooms if they were locally available? Once a week
  20. We're still practicing at Tom's on a Wednesday night - it's decent enough but I really don't like Room 4. I don't like the kit, the PA sounds strange and our guitarists don't like the amps. Had an extra practice last night in Room 3 and I cut my finger in the middle of a song, turns out blood does not come off a snare head. Apologies for anyone who has to use it
