  1. Cheers Colb - that's the plan. Feel-good pop music
  2. Hi All, New Uniform track, Letters, is available for free download as of today. As usual, would love some feedback. http://https://soundcloud.com/weareuniform/letters-ep Cheers
  3. Hi, So I'm looking for a set of (preferably wireless) in-ear monitors. Most venues we play have the standard monitors along the front and a drum monitor - because we have a piano player, he is usually left without a monitor which doesn't always work well. The plan is to give him the drum monitor and get me some in-ears. Anyone selling the transmitter and receiver part - I've already got a decent set of earphones so it's just the base unit and receiver I'm looking for. Cheers
  4. WOW and I mean that. Touch harsh on the school leaver. He's just providing us with cool thoughts and a cool thread.
  5. He was our favourite. We gave him a Uniform tshirt and we saw him drunkenly stumbling along the road later on with it on, over his shirt, tie and jacket. LEGEND. Cheers to Phil for a great night, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
  6. 2 news songs to chuck into our set for our mini tour in August. One fast upbeat one and one slow and moody one. Played one of them on Saturday night at Downstairs and it seemed to go down well.
  7. I have learned that 3 days on the sauce in Newcastle on a stag do does not preempt a good working day. I've been in the office for an hour and a half and have spewed twice.
  8. Get a percussion table, stick the pads on top of it and use the clamp posted above to secure the cymbal.
  9. 100% agree with the above - lots of great opportunities to play gigs outwith the standard Drummonds/Tunnels spots now. With Malones Late Night and Downstairs opening, and a mass of new promoters going about, it's a good time.
  10. Aye definitely mate, let me know what dates and we'll arrange something.
  11. Cheers Milner. When are you wanting a shot of my cymbals by the way?
  12. Anyone know where in Aberdeen I can get a MiniKorg fixed? I have nae idea what's wrong with it but it doesn't switch on and is missing a key
  13. Aye I've texted Steven, see what he recommends. Cheers guys xx
  14. Anyone know of any Brass groups that would be interested in playing a few gigs with us, and recording a few tracks? By brass I mean trumpet, trombone and saxophone. I have no idea where to start so any suggestions welcome.
  15. Me too funnily enough. The Toploader reference was ace. I think they made the connection as we've played a few dates with them of late. Lazy blogging IMO.
  16. Also, Backstreet Boys, Aqua and Boyz2Men were the favourite 'World Music' at the time Aqua were fucking incredible.
  17. Aye I'm speaking 12 years ago! I lived in Thailand as well and it was the same there - majority of singing-in-English-non-Singaporean-bands were stuck under 'World Music'
  18. Certain Bloggers and websites who have reviewed our EP have been desperate to stick us into a genre - we had one saying we were the new Toploader! I realise that makes me sound ungrateful, and I'm really not. Oh and Milner - Nadia is extremely hot, but your music is good. You have created a new genre - SingerIsReallyReallyHotRock.
  19. It's not that I'm getting hung up on it, but one reviewer/blogger pretty much insisted we must know what genre we were in - he got quite angry when we said we wouldn't class ourselves as one or the other
  20. See, this is what I mean - am I massively out of touch or are there just far too many 'genres' now? What the hell is mathrock? Also, 'World Music' is the same anywhere in the world - when I lived in Singapore, in their Tower Records store, all the Western bands (even the likes of Oasis, Robbie Williams etc) were chucked under the category 'World Music'. Singapore has a pretty well followed Asian pop scene.
  21. We get slated by some metal bands/fans in Aberdeen because they say we're too 'pop/rock-y' and we're asked often what category of music we would say we are - the answer is always the same - we have no idea as so many of our influences span a lot of different bands and therefore a lot of different genres. Also, I have no idea what 'crabcore' is. Or sludge metal. Is this different from regular metal?
  22. Wait, what? I want to hear more about this Shutterspeed gig....
  23. I always thought there was just your basic genres - Pop, rock, metal, indie, hip-hop, rnb, dance etc. I saw a gig recently describing the band as 'sludge-pepsi-metal' - what the fuck is that?
