  1. I could go on for ages here! Metallica -> Boring and overrated imo. They're alright composers.... Metallica songs covered by other people aren't bad. but Metallica played by Metallica = rubbish. Slayer -> What's the obsession? Crappy lyrics and almost every song is some variation of 'god hates you, blooooood, murder and rape' or something like that. Kerry King's solos are boring as hell and their fans are the biggest bunch of pricks ever. Trivium -> For a while I liked Ascendancy I was about 15 and into crap though in my defence, however just boring and generic. Machinehead -> Why do people like them seriously? I just don't get it Bring me the Horizon -> This one's obvious, but they went from making shit music with breakdowns every 10 seconds, to raping the corpse of Johnny Truant and churning out an album with breakdowns every 20 seconds which is still just a rubbish version of Johhny Truant. Then we have Oli Sykes.... and the rest of the band. I remember in an interview the emo guitarist saying 'people slag us off and say we're emo boys'... urm go figure. Five Finger Death Punch -> How can any band play such a rubbish version of nu metal and be the darlings of the 'metal' press and be seen as the saviour of music. Wtf? Glamour of the Kill -> How the fuck did these guys get so many support slots? Saw them supporting other bands twice and they're terrible. Horribly whiny emo vocals that make your ear bleeds. I remember their signature song thing was called 'Rise from your grave'... if anything they make me want to dig my own. Seriously i'll post a youtube vid. It's just horrible. Descibed by a reasonably well known Basick band (not MMW!) as being the 'Worst band in the UK' and they're definitely up there.Bullet for my Valentine -> Popular amongst the scene kids. Nuff said. The ONLY good thing about this band is the use of harmonised leads... but even still loads of bands do it better. Terrible vox and generally boring lyrics and music. Plus too many emo kids like them! Avenged Sevenfold -> See Bullet for My Valentine. Despised Icon -> horrible deathcore crap. Nothing else to say. The Ting Tings -> the singer has such an annoying voice, coupled with mindless repetetive lyrics = awful music. Honourable mentions to Enter Shikari, Guns N Roses, Attack Attack!, Asking Alexandria, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Whitechapel, Emmure, any other band who puts breakdowns when they run out of riff ideas, anything with horrible trancey interludes. I like a lot of music from acoustic to jazz to death metal... their is just a LOT of stuff I cannot stand!
  2. Chimp Spanner - At the Dream's Edge The Postman Syndrome - Terraforming (amazing album! like Porcupine Tree but a bit heavier and some unclean vox)
  3. Clearly he is though ha reminds me of when I was in Somerfield near where I live once. Boy who looked about 15 trying to buy a lottery ticket, so guy at till said 'no id no sale' etc... his mother was beside him though and said i'll buy it then. Obviously person behind till said no, as she was clearly going to give him the lottery ticket. Then she started this massive fuss about how it was her money so it didn't matter who she gave it to etc, then even got the manager to write down his details and everything so she could make a formal complaint. Some people are just so stupid. Irrespective of their way of dressing, ignorant behaviour and annoying way of talking, The story above is why I hate chav's! Although I suppose if you don't know the law, you can plead ignorance when you break it.
  4. Comedian or not he's just following the law. Trust me it's even more funny where I work. I work in a toy shop and we are not allowed to sell toy guns to people under 18, and the policy is that you have to look at least 7 years older, or else you will be ID'd. So you could conceivably ID a person who looks 24, for trying to buy a plastic gun for their child.

    Lady Gaga

SLAYYYYYERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Although I don't think Slayer fans realise their is music other than Slayer
  6. You're a hardcore fan though To anyone who only likes metal... they're shit, and were very very out of place on that bill. However whilst I HATE most hardcore, I don't mind ETID live (seen them 3 times now) but wouldn't really choose to listen to them above what I normally do. I dunno what fatboy likes, but suspect he is neither of the above!
  7. Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, I could only here the guitarist on the left really (the one that did all the soloing), I'm not a massive fan of ETID, but they generally put on great live performances in small venues purely due to their energy (if you went to their show at the Tunnels in May no one was standing still!) but in a large venue like the Academy it just doesn't work. Crowd too distant from the band. Yup In Flames played a good set, and as stated played a more varied set than I thought. They only seemed to be on stage for about 30 mins though and I would have liked more songs from them KsE.... hmmm, played more early songs than I thought... But I am a Jesse fan so Howard kinda slaughtered the AOJB stuff. Was spot on for the new songs though. Btw anyone going to Bonecrusher Fest in February,...? I want to see Obscura and The Faceless, can only go if I get a lift to and from Glasgow on the night though. Aside from that next Glasgow show is Between the Buried and Me in February. Can't wait
  8. Only just discovered this thread... bit late. How did you guys find it? The sound was shit all night. Bass drum totally overpowered everything, and this was me in the 4th row from the front wearing earplugs... in the middle of the floor where i was for Maylene it sounded even worse. Also the 'metalheads' there were mostly annoying pricks. Was amusing to see them turn back and stare during ETID at the hardcore dancing... I mean I don't like it but they were being dicks and starting fights. Best part of the night...? In Flames playing Embody the Invisible! Colony was the last decent album they made IMO and was nice to hear something off it
  9. As in 'over your head' or are you saying you are an avid planespotter?
  10. It's what I listen to more than anything else If you've seen my post in the top albums of the year thread most of them are some form of tech metal (tech death, math metal etc)
  11. They just sound like a slightly more technical Parkway Drive. Don't think they could make more dull music if they tried. Oh dear i just heard some shitty pig squealing thing from the vocalist. They are officially crap.
  12. Longest growl perhaps? It's 18 secs on the studio version but a mere 16 seconds live (at the start of the song btw) I need to stop posting Quo Vadis videos
  13. In no real order other than alphabetical.... Animals as Leaders - S/T Architects - Hollow Crown Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect Conducting from the Grave - When Legends Become Dust Exivious - Exivious Fall of Efrafa - Inle (amazing end to an amazing bands career!) Lye By Mistake - Lye By Mistake Mastodon - Crack the Skye No Consequence - In the Shadow of Gods No Made Sense - The Epillanic Choragi Obscura - Cosmogenesis Scale the Summit - Carving Desert Canyons That's 12 but I can't really cut 2 out Also a few that just missed out. Still waiting on the new Divinity album to arrive... that will probably be in there based on the songs I have heard.
  14. Still 1 ticket left, it's yours for 10ovno. Don't want to have to wait outside the gig flogging it so take it off my hands, please!
  15. If you could get some Quo Vadis, Martyr, Obscura or Archons on the go I would be amazingly impressed, but hardly anyone has heard of them so guess it's a bit niche The above suggestions are good though. Could maybe just about dance to Integral Birth! Although imagine the air guitaring during the start of Stabwound if that was played :O I'm in Glasgow tomorrow night though, save the good music for next Friday plz
  16. I'm sure you played SikTh at about 1am on Friday. Think it was Flogging the Horses. Anyway that alone is good enough for me!! Now all you need is some Tech Death and a bit more djent and I will be a happy man just play that Will sound rubbish on a club system though, any bass heavy music does
  17. The Arusha Accord were wasted on Friday night Everything is amazing when you are drunk! And yes I imagine this is Ben... since I also know that TAA stayed at his house on Friday night Makes sense really!
  18. If anyone wants tickets, I've got 2 that I no longer need. 22 the pair. PM me or text me if you already have my number! http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/tickets/58840-sale-2x-gallows-tickets-warehouse-29-11-a.html#post792709
  19. As above, 2 tickets for Gallows this Sunday. Face value is 12 each but will sell the pair for 22.
  20. I could fill an entire thread with crappy metal covers of good songs Off the top of my head worst I can think of in terms of butchering a classic is Losing My Religion covered by Graveworm. Just no.
  21. Check out Blood Stain Child who I put in my first post! Probably the only band I did mention who fit what he was after
  22. But you will notice the original post mentioned more than just Hadouken You would normally not mention BMTH and Hadouken in the same sentence either. I was just merely putting what I consider to be good metal bands who use a fair amount of electronics. Granted they are probably not what OP is looking for but it's worth a try... although he was looking for more dancey type electronics.. so I was way off the mark With that in mind I heartily recommend Attack Attack! On a more serious note tried the nintendocore style stuff? HORSE the Band, early Sky Eats Airplane etc?
  23. I am sure that was the case with the originals too But yeah in seriousness Rolo Tomassi and Genghis Tron are musts YouTube - Rolo Tomassi - I Love Turbulence Love em or hate em but iwrestledabearonce use a fair bit of electronics in some of their stuff. The album was surprisingly good! I was expecting it to be rubbish! YouTube - iwrestledabearonce - The Cat's Pajamas then of course the immortal Tastes Like Kevin Bacon maybe try The Locust?
  24. Urm if your wanting mixes of metal with dancey type stuff... maybe try these? Ted Maul... death metal/ drum n bass -> TED MAUL on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Blood Stain Child melodeath with trancey style bits..? -> BLOOD STAIN CHILD on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads this song isn't on myspace but overall gives the best idea of their newer stuff Could name more but as I said probs not what you're looking for! EDIT... I missed out probs the best 2 experimental bands. Genghis Tron and Rolo Tomassi. Have a look for yourself!
