  1. As I said in the other forum... Any free stuff for the promo work? I have a habit of adding stuff to last fm too. Someone asked me a question about a gig a couple of days ago thinking I was the promoter!
  2. I saw you in Exo on Saturday generally looking a bit lost. Spottted The Sloth at Korova on Friday. Don't think he knows who I am... Spoke to Fraser Mac as well but that doesn't count
  3. The drummer is really good. It's the trigger sound that is horrible... all they had to do was change the sound on the drum module... I kinda like the vocals though. At least he doesn't sound like every other -core vocalist on the planet Hmm other cliches. . This video has them all What's that? Barbarians fighting? Decapitation? Nude carnivorous women covered in blood? Generic as fuck metal song? Check!
  4. Metal bands using horrible triggered bass drum sounds. Congratulations on the first use of a type writer as percussion! (btw only watch the first 10 seconds of that if you don't like screaming.....)
  5. Is this gig happening? No confirmation of it on any of the artists myspace pages so seems not with less than 4 weeks t go
  6. or "We've just finished recording our new album and we so want you guys to hear it. We put a lot of effort in and it fucking rocks (or some other cliched phrase!)" and it's usually the worse thing they have ever recorded
  7. Yeah the misery signals gig is the freshers friday. I can't wait to see TTNG. Only got into them a few weeks ago then this show was announced! Will be my first non metal gig in a few months too. Make a pleasant change!
  8. I hate arranging things! Had at least 5 people say they would go but pull out. Anyone want a weekend ticket? 15 is face value so that or nearest offer I suppose? I won't go on my own and can't find anyone else I know going
  9. Holy shit. I almost wet myself when I saw that lineup. 2 of my favourite bands in the same lineup is amazing. I'm there! Oh and btw their is no space... Fellsilent is one word
  10. I kinda find them a bit repetetive now.... For a tech death intro this is where it's at! The bass is pretty orgasmic. I love fretless basses
  11. Is my favourite intro of all time I would say. That's live though. With a decent pair of headphones the studio version is stunning
  12. I already prefer Korova. Better music, better clientele in my experience (Moshulu was always full of posers and wannabe metalheads in slipknot t shrts when I went there) and cheaper drinks too. As for the Aberdeen Uni fresher's partner this place has it... I have never heard of it before though although I never venture that far down Union Street The Shack & Capitol Night Club Aberdeen

    A song for the Dons

Something inapproriate... and possibly ironic? SInce they won't be winning the league how about Bow Down by Born of Osiris...? Chanting 'Fucking bow down' to Gers fans would be funny. YouTube - Born Of Osiris- Bow Down Oh yeah be prepared for some growly metal. If you don't like the sound of that don't open! In light of the weather I also suggest It's Not Safe to Swim Today by Veil of Maya
  14. I know that hence the sentence "When they find a replacement for Abi a TesseracT gig would get my approval too." I was referring to Abi, the vocalist, leaving TesseracT at the end of last month. However I do know Acle left Fellsilent to concentrate on Tesseract. Since I have already made a stupid error in this thread though I am not surprised if you were confused However I have just checked their website and this was posted yesterday so i suppose technically you win cos they have found one!
  15. Fellsilent!!!! Although that's their last 3 tours they have cancelled. WIth any luck they might go on one eventually When they find a replacement for Abi a TesseracT gig would get my approval too. Xerath, Rolo Tomassi, Devil Sold His Soul and Romeo Must Die would be awesome too. I will buy you a beer for everyone you manage to get to play here A band I recently discovred who are surprisingly good are Take a Worm For a Walk Week and that's probably most likely I would imagine since Glasgow isn't too far away
  16. I love Sylosis. Been following since their first EP. Would drag some mates along too That's a yes from me btw
  17. I just hate Saosin I suppose so nothing they coulda done that night would have impressed me. They put a lot of effort in for sure so credit there but I don't like their music Glamour of the Kill supported Darkest Hour too That was a terrible night. DH put on a poor performance too by their standards. Seen em 3 times and was by far the worse. Then again I saw them co headlining with Between the Buried and Me so nothing will top that I doubt Very true but aside from Dark Tranquillity which was a flop all the 'big' bands I have seen have been absolutely packed and nearly sellouts I would imagine. So is deffo some money to be make (especially for Moshulu judging by how busy the bar is at gigs!)
  18. Anyone heard of Maximum the Hormone...? This is awful but at the same time amazing. I am addicted to this song. YouTube - maximum the hormone- Koi No Mega Lover The rapping bit is awesome too
  19. Yeah I know what you mean. I listened to some Napalm Death and it didn't scrobble half the songs. I wonder if all 1.3 seconds of 'You Suffer' will scrobble...
  20. The Alexisonfire gig is probs in my top 3 ever. It was such a good night after that Saosin left. My god they were terrible. When did Himsa play here? I only moved up here in Sept 2007 so I think Alexisonfire was the first proper gig I went to here. Himsa were incredible live. Saw with Architects, Darkest Hour and As I Lay Dying the week before i cam to uni and they totally stole the show. Pettibone is a legend
  21. Lol I can't actually remember. I have seen them before I know that and I remember seeing them in that month but I woulda been away from Aberdeen cos of Holidays... probably was in another city. My memory is really patchy at the best of times! If it's not PTW then As I Lay Dying and Turisas played in March 2008, Dark Tranquillity in Feb 2008 (that was an amazing night but absolutely no one turned up!!! Musta have been 100 people at most. 2 rows of people in front of the barriers and the rest of the place was empty) and Darkest Hour were January 2008. How I long for those days again
  22. I'm mostly going for Paridian. They were fucking awesome at the Diabetes charity gig a couple of months ago. Djent ftw
  23. I can't think of a decent one since Poison the Well in April 2008, That was a good night Also got my ticket for this gig too!
  24. Same here. I generally listen to music digitally for convenience but their is nothing better than putting on your favourite album through a decent set of speakers when cooking etc I love buying album for the artwork. I almost get annoyed when a band puts no effort into the booklet or doesn't include lyrics! Must admit I am a geek too though I buy limited editions and get stuff signed just to say oh look this is rare!
  25. I use both but if I like music I buy it on CD. I seriously hope physical music doesn't die out. Having the lyrics and artwork in a book is brilliant. As is inventive packaging. Also from a sound quality perspective CD's and especially vinyl's shit all over MP3's. When I get some money together I want a vinyl player. Due to the wider sampling range than cd's they sound sooo much better. And MP3's are worse quality than CD. A convenient but second rate music format.
