  1. I highly recommend you don't get a rabbit, I had an indoor guinea pig which stank to high heaven despite frequent cleaning.
  2. 'Take Refuge in Clean Living' and 'Doomsday Holiday' now on order, didn't even realise they were out!
  3. If memory serves the support band were actually mentioned in a corner of the poster....paying a 1.80 booking fee at the door pisses me off, total rip off
  4. 20 quid for a dreadful support band and half a set from The Fall. Disgraceful, unprofessional behaviour, fuck turning out any living legend excuses, having said that the set they did play was great. I predict The Lemon Tree will be down the dumper again soon enough, have obviously learned fuck all from the past.
  5. 'The Dead Pool', last of the Dirty Harry box set that I just bought. Also recently watched 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' which wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.
  6. When was the last time you went there? I stopped going cos it became so guff after it was sold.
  7. The Beach Boys ~ Sunflower/Surf's Up Bruce Springsteen ~ Born In The USA Spear of Destiny ~ Grapes of Wrath/One Eyed Jacks/World Service
  8. I kinda prefered KoL's sound during the first couple of albums, bit rougher sounding, but the last 2 albums are stronger in terms of song quality consistency. Must be said, when I bought the first album I never envisaged them becoming as big as they are now.... Band of Horses are ace, sound f-all like KoL though....
  9. 'Highway to Hell' and 'High Voltage' were their best albums. Apparently the new one sounds a bit over-polished. I think the 'Who Made Who' album is teh most recent one I own and that is more of a compilation.....
  10. Personally I think a lot of the trouble is the sheer number of post-rock bands out there nowadays. When I listen to Young Team now it seems almost amateurish at times compared to their stuff now, despite being a great album. I don't think there's a single Mogwai album that I have found bad, Rock Action is probably my least favourite but personally I think Mr. Beast is a very strong album and I think the new one has some very strong tracks. 'Thank You Space Expert' is beautiful. I missed their gig in Aberdeen, think I was offshore if I recall correctly, and while i'd love them to play here again at least they played once and if they had that bad an experience then why would they come back? The petulance displayed on this thread is embarrassing, if they read it I wouldn't blame them for avoiding Aberdeen for the rest of their careers.
  11. The new album has loads of good stuff going on, more mellow in general but I like it. They've 'had their day'? Pish min.
  12. I did read the thread properly - cash in hand as I know it is a means of dodging tax.
  13. Mogwai ~ The Hawk Is Howling/Batcat EP Kings of Leon ~ Only By The Night Kronos Quartet ~ Henryk Gorecki String Quartet No.3 Jesu~ Why Are We Not Perfect Glasvegas ~ Glasvegas. OK album but nae getting the fuss....
  14. But i'm sure he is asking about cash in hand to avoid paying tax.....which probably isn't the best thing to ask about on a public forum in the first place....
  15. Is the Lose Your Illusion thing likely to sell out? Can you pay on the door?
  16. Waiting Room ~ Fugazi Higher Ground ~ RHCP Ace of Spades/Stone Dead Forever ~ Motorhead Guns of Brixton ~ The Clash Neat Neat Neat/Love Song ~ The Damned Transmission/She's Lost Control ~ Joy Division Two Hearts Beat As One/New Year's Day ~ U2
  17. Although I don't listen to the style of music and know nothing about it, I kind of enjoyed Ablach. There was one song where the double kick just meshed with a huge chunky riff very satisfyingly. I had to leave after only a bit of Flatlands, they seemed pretty good, reminded me of Isis' quieter interludes. Kind of wish it hadn't been a schoolnight so I could have had more beer and seen all the bands.
  18. I'd be interested. But more so if it was Earth as a band....
  19. I bought it yesterday and have been blasting it in the car - as someone who is not overly fanatical about them but has slowly picked up their albums over the past few years when seen cheap, I think it's a good album. It sounds like an amalgam of their complete history, song structures hark back to the Master Of Puppets era but stylistically sounds often like the Load/Reload albums. There's even a riff or two that threatened to turn into something from St.Anger but veered away again. If I have one criticism it's that the songs are too long. The odd-epic is fine but I find having every song lengthy wears me a bit.
  20. Dennis Wilson ~ Pacific Ocean Blue Blur ~ Leisure/Modern Life Is Rubbish/Parklife/The Great Escape
  21. They all spunked their pants when they came up with 'My lifestyle determines my deathstyle' so it's hardly surprising....
  22. Wandering about the pish house with bare feet was another interesting choice....
  23. STP have far more songs I like than Smashing Pumpkins.....the 4th STP album was also quite good.....the first VR album was OK and they were good when I saw them live at that time, but the 2nd one is pish.
  24. I thought Dollar Sent were pretty great - nice straight forward Motorhead style metal. And I've never felt so adequate in terms of penis size than I do after last night!
