  1. Amazon. Those guys are crazy. Bought an Mp3 player in January after my iPod died. It is great, but in the last 2 weeks, the input jack has become really crackly at the slightest touch. Playback goes all distorted or cuts out completely with every step when I'm walking. It's probably a super quick fix, but I wouldn't know how. After a blow with a can of compressed air, and a poke around with a paper clip, that's my know-how at its maximum. It's still in the 12 month warranty, so I asked how I go about getting it repaired by e-mail. Within 20 minutes, they sent me a confirmation that a brand new one is about to be sent to me today. Lunatics.
  2. Where could one get the full EP in digital format? Track is good! Riffs are cool, great production, not crazy about the vocals on first listen, but I'd like to hear it context with whole EP.
  3. Fair. Great deadline day yesterday. Especially as Sky Sports News were geeing it up to be the biggest, bestest, deadlineiest deadline day of all deadline days. Banging on about the MERRY GO ROUND with dramatic music like some kind of Hollyoaks shit. The best part of it was that pretty much NONE of it happened, and Jim White is sat there at about 10pm with egg on his face, yet still trying to hopelessly ramp up the drama. They still had that woman standing outside Southamptons training ground in the dark, even though Van Dijk left at about 3 in the afternoon. Best part of the day was the kid flying past her on his scooter and yelling "WOOOOOOOOAH". That's what I'm paying for Sky Sports for. It was good to see the supposed player-power get a good smacking. Van Dijk, Coutinho and the like all being put in their place. Quite rightly. Both of those signed 6 year deals less than a year ago. You don't sign a 6 year deal and ask to leave a year later. If you do and you don't get your way, then you don't really have the right to throw a strop. Spanish window closes today, but surely Liverpool will just unplug the phone, or continue to stick two fingers up at Barca. I'd usually have no issue seeing Liverpool be weakened by Barca, but in this case, I hope they stick it to Barca, and tell Coutinho to get on with it. Chelsea just had an awful window, didn't they? Gazumped to Lukaku, Conte losing Matic against his wishes, getting gazumped again to Llorente, Ross Barkley supposedly rejected them at short notice, and where the hell is Diego Costa? Gazumped is a great word, and one that is only used during the transfer window. And Arsenal. Ox-Cham taking a paycut to join Liverpool is quite indicative of the shitshow going on at Arsenal. Lemar preferred Liverpool to them as well. Sanchez might just be the unhappiest footballer on earth for the next year. Both him and Ozil can leave for nothing next summer. What a mess. And now there's an international break. Boourns.
  4. Premier League did the right thing. Stamp out that nonsense. Reading on Twitter that some Swansea fans have already got the 85 printed on their shirt before the Premier League rejected it. Who gets a loanee printed on a shirt?
  5. Squier, innit. There's always a chance something will inexplicably come apart, against all logic. The saddle screws in my Bass VI just wiggled out as I was playing it when I first got it, and the strings slapped against the fretboard as the bridge instantly sank. Those screws were so tiny, I never saw them again. They just became part of the carpet. They're probably still there, in that flat I don't live in anymore. That said, the Staytrem bridge I replaced it with was a tiptop upgrade. Great piece of kit. When you're considering swapping pots anyway, the pot exploding in your hand makes the decision for you. Thanks, shit pot.
  6. Definitely needs new pots. The volume pot just came off in my hand. Control knob with the pole piece stuck in, and now no sound comes out. Just got a Seymour Duncan JB for the bridge too, so I'll put it all back together when that arrives.
  7. Just got one of these for super cheap: Guy at work bought it for his kid. Kid didn't wanna learn to play it. Guy needs to get shot of it. I nab it for £80. Eighty! It's pretty much new, barring a bit of rash on the pickguard from where he's probably strummed it a bit before giving up on it, the ungrateful shite. It's an Affinity, so I expected it to feel and play like a toy, whilst going out of tune just by looking at it. WRONG. It's totally solid. Great tuning stability. Passable electronics (pots a tiny bit scratchy, might swap them if it gets worse). The pickups are very decent too, surprisingly. Medium output with a bit of twang, almost P90-ish, without the noise. Even more surprisingly - the bridge isn't a piece of shit, which is miraculous, as Squier bridges are most likely assembled by drunk toddlers with no fingers. Nice weighty body, feels like it might be Alder. Chunky neck, thicker than I expected. Top drawer all rounder, to my utmost surprise, as every Affinity I've ever touched has felt like the plastic thing that comes with Guitar Hero. Hell of a lot of guitar for the money, even at it's full price (£200ish?). Stupid, ungrateful shit kid's loss is my gain. TL;DR version: Got a new pinch harmonic machine. Cheap as shit. 5 out of 5 for pinch capabilities.
  8. Underneath the unhinged blood-vessel bursting bellowing, he's got a point. Lacazette on the bench, watching Danny Welbeck falling over his own feet. Everytime that lad kicks a ball, he's on the floor. He's got the balance of Lucille Austero. New left back, who has probably been one of their best players so far since the Community Shield, watching a right back play in his position as he totally refused to use his left foot, trying to cross it in by wrapping th outside of his right foot around the ball, as it bananas out for a goal kick. I think his tirade on Arsenal's finances are a bit made-up, however. He didn't say "blud" or "fam" even once though, so is it even a real ArsenalFanTV video?
  9. Having a right loud jam is great, especially after so long of not doing it. Didn't take long for the usual band difficulties to set in. We've had 5 jams, and already had 2 different bass players in that time, and back to having no bass player. Fuuuu.
  10. I don't know much about 2000AD overall either, but I'm big into Judge Dredd, and I read Halo Jones a long time ago and loved it, so I'm glad to have it in a swish hardback book. Hopefully they get into the ABC Warrior stuff fairly early on.
  11. Doing a band again, after ages of not doing one, is pretty ace. Even though my fingers are crap and don't do what I tell them to do. Two finger powerchords ftw.
  12. Just subbed to that 2000ad Ultimate Collection. Can't imagine I'll stick it out to the end, but there's some decent stuff at the beginning. Then I'll probably start cherry-picking what I want as it goes on. The first two are a bargain. Slaine - The Horned God for £1.99 and The Complete Ballad of Halo Jones for £6.99, delivered to your door for free is a solid deal. The latter normally goes for upwards of £35, and is one of the best comics ever IMO. The art in Slaine is some of the best in the 2000ad back catalogue. Free mug too!
  13. http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/best-weezer-songs-2127871/?utm_content=manual&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_term=nme Some goober at the NME puts his Weezer discography on random and claims the next 10 songs that come out are the 10 best Weezer songs. Because surely no one could make a list of the best 10 Weezer songs and include 3 songs that are non-Blue/Pinkerton - nay - 3 songs that are non Blue/Pinkerton/Green/Maladroit. Could they? No Tired of Sex. No Only in Dreams. No My Name is Jonas. Fuck this guy. Mark Beaumont is his name, and Mark Beaumont's punishment is to live with his wrongness for the rest of his life. Take that, Mark Beaumont.
  14. https://streamable.com/lu14h Sigurdsson goal from tonight. From out wide and he hits it on the volley on the stretch. Just mental.
  15. Looking forward to seeing how Milan do against tough opposition. They were great to watch in the 1st leg in the Europa League last week, but Shkendija were totally awful, whoever they are. I watched the first half of the 2nd leg but it was boring. They weren't even getting out of first gear. They didn't need to. They were decent in the opening league game from the highlights I saw, though Crotone went down to 10 men in the first few minutes. Bonucci and Musacchio are solid signings. They still have Borini leading the line though. Also read that Donnarumma would only stay if they re-signed his older brother (who was playing for a midtable Greek side after not being able to get a game for Genoa) pay him top wedge and make him the #2 keeper. That Mino Raiola conducts some serious sorcery at the negotiating table. From all accounts, the older Donnarumma is a bit crap. Who would agree to that?
  16. That is a real snooze. Feels like it is building up to Walter belting out a huge hook, but it goes nowhere.
  17. I'm also glad I've seen them. Though not with Big Business. That wins. I've not heard the new Ohhms record. Or much new doom in general. I will give it a spin. I'm not in to reunion records but Quicksand have a new album coming soon. Slip is still an all time great, so I hope the new un is good. Live footage of their reunion shows sounded a bit tame though, so I don't have high hopes. I hope they prove me wrong.
  18. Sounds nastier than Wreck. Digging. Annoyingly, their Europe tour only comes as far as London. Boourns.
  19. Fair dos. I didn't watch much Championship football last season. I didn't see much that was particularly violent in the Premier League. Did the Championship bring out his inner-bastard? I do still quite like him, even if he is a lunatic and utterly brainless. He was one of Swansea's best players before he went to Newcastle and everything seemed to go through him, seemed capable of a screamer or a red card at any moment. United have made an impressive start to the season. Better than I expected. Matic especially has been quietly superb. I already thought he was a good signing, but he has been better than I expected. Constantly wins the ball and plays the simple pass. Phil Jones is fit, and hes been excellent so far, but he will undoubtedly get injured for months. Not sure why Rashford is ahead of Martial in the pecking order either. Rashford's end product is garbage. Martial comes off the bench and scores and creates goal but can't get a start. I've never been sold on Lukaku, at Chelsea, West Brom or Everton. He's scored 3 in 2, but I'm still not sure on him. That said, they've started well, and they need to keep up the pace. I still think they need a wide player, one with pace and a good cross. Preferably one who can play both flanks. Dougas Costa would have been perfect, but they watched him go to Juve for hat was a low fee in the current ludicrous market. They play Mata and Mkhi who are both #10s, and the right wing is wide open, as it was all of last season. Sort it out.
  20. I've posted about this record before, but I've listened to it about 15 times this week. When it finishes, I press play again. It's just so damn catchy. https://mostoffrecords.bandcamp.com/album/i-r-i-s
  21. Maladroit. Anything Lemonade says is wrong.
  22. Is he particularly violent overall? It was a definite red, but it was one of those reds that absolutely wasn't worth it. He just stood on his foot. Probably didn't even leave a scratch on him. Alli hammed it up, as you would. If you're going to see red for sticking one on a prickly little gobshite (and Dele Alli absolutely is a prickly little gobshite who gets away with lots of sly acts of nastiness and is overdue being on the receiving end of a whopper of a late challenge) at least give him a good wallop. Start throwing punches, headbutts and squaring up to the whole team, like Joey Barton would. The little I've seen of Shelvey, he just seems like an idiot. Not particularly nasty. Just brainless. He has bags of talent, but doesn't seem capable of connecting that talent to his head.
