  1. I just booked tickets for a return journey to Glasgow on the website and I had my confirmation email straight away. It's strange how this can happen. I love how each department is quick to say that it isn't their problem! But that email isn't harsh at all! If anything it wasn't harsh enough. It's probably been consigned to the delete mail now though.
  2. Exactly... The delete button is like the ultimate bargain bin... Buy a song for 79p and then if you don't like it..... delete. I think it depends on how you've been introduced to the whole listening to music thing. If you were first given vinyl you might feel some sort of attachment to that, same with cds (or even tapes). Today's young music listeners are sooooo clued up that buying music with a click of a mouse is not an alien concept. I'm not saying it is to any of us, I'm just saying that I think it's weird to pay for a whole album that you don't even get to hold it. It might depend on lifestyle choices though. You know, the convenience of purchasing online or just picking up a copy when you're doing your weekly shop in Asda. I like browsing through cds looking for a bargain or a gem. OneUp and Avalanche are really good for that. And you don't feel pestered or watched on, like in HMV etc.
  3. Yeah. Or it's the one song remixed 6 times! It gets boring when a band releases so many tracks from an album. I blame Radio 1. I listened to it most of today (uni work sucks) and each show started with almost the same 3 or 4 songs. If I heard Madonna or Panic at the Disco one more time... Lol.
  4. Haha. Yeah! Probably... Basement Jaxx on the otherhand did a pretty good job at Glasto... Well, what I remember from seeing on tv. I remember the tv person saying... "Oh, they've designed this set especially and their cover of Kylie's Can't Get You Out of My Head is especially for this!"... Utter rubbish... They played it at the Barrowlands on the tour before Glastonbury! Lol. I love it when music 'experts' get it wrong... That's a total off tangent rant... Jay-Z would be pretty good I reckon. Although, the crowd would be horrendous. The biggest reason for not going.
  5. I would never dream of buying a single. There's nothing out there that I would particularly want to buy as a single song. Generally it's full albums and eps that I'm most interested in owning. That means having a physical copy with the art work. Yeah, it's nice to have music to stick on my ipod, but I love being able to go to my shelf and picking out a cd and listening to it. Why buy a single for about 3 when you could have that artists whole album for 6-10? I dunno. I'm sure there's people out there who love owning everything by the artists they adore and that's cool.
  6. I wonder what an act called 'Basement Jazz' would sound like....
  7. Going to Dundee is nothing. I've been there heaps of times to see bands play since the new Fat Sams opened. But, yeah agreeing with Idol_Wild it is possible to find something nearly every day of the week. I think that it's an opportunity to go and see something you might not usually... Never know what might be found!
  8. Yeah! I agree with that. It's a great follow up.
  9. 10 to sing about a JCB... Haha! I'm sure there's more to them than that!
  10. Dance Lazarus Dance, Chutes, Matadors! and Jocasta Sleeps are all pretty good. And of course the Aberdeen bunch.
  11. It was showing last Sunday as well apparently. I hope it gets shown again, cos I was going... but it looks like I'm not now!
  12. Yup... agree bout the rusting... mine's does round the door and the petrol cap door. My car is 9 years old now... so can be expected I suppose. And yes... my heaters have given in! My car is in it's final months! It's creaking like an old lady! But yeah... It's been reliable for the 5 years I've had it and no major problems. Anything has been easily fixed!
  13. I think it pretty much depends on what you want to see. If it's massive touring bands that you're wanting and they're not coming to Aberdeen then I understand people moaning a little. But if you like them enough and you can you'd travel. There some bands I wouldn't mind going to Glasgow every time just to see. I think Aberdeen has greatly improved even in the 3 and a half years I've been here for uni. It's looking promising.
  14. Well... this is keeping me entertained!
  15. Haha. I'm sure I've seen a t-shirt or badge with that statement on it!
  16. Amazing!! I want a glittery car!! My purple is not quite so glamourous!! Enjoy it! It's def nippy enough for city driving - that's all mine does except occasional trips back to Glasgow - it also copes well on the motorway - yours def will with it being new.
  17. Wooo!! Good choice I do have to say! And you'll be surprised... there's plenty room in the boot! Haha. What colour did you get? (such a girly comment. Lol) But I decline the offer of dodgems. My Ka looks like it's hand 10 rounds with Mike Tyson... Probably something to do with the clientele of Pearl Lounge (my parking zone).
  18. It does. I think it was in the one that went to mid-April. That's where I saw it from.
  19. There's nice new acoustic versions of a couple of old tracks and a new one up on youtube!
  20. Haha. Yeah, his voice was very 80s! I like the big noise they created! Oxford Collapse reminded me of what WAS would've sounded like a few years back! They have that random boppy thing going on with stage banter! Lol.
  21. I really enjoyed it. I don't ever get bored by We Are Scientists... I did however have a great problem with the 'old' drunk couple in front of us... who after barging past thought it was appropriate to say to my friend... "What's your f'ing problem... Do you actually think he's going to be f'ing looking at you?!"... Lovely! They put a major dampener on it! But nevermind. And yeah, they're stage banter was good, but not as much as when I saw them in Dundee.
