  1. I thoroughly enjoy my life and my home city. I'm sure there is a strong relationship between those two things.
  2. I heard he's a big Mackem and also hates sportswear shops so refused to play there again. Manchester, London and Dublin aren't too far away.
  3. Was it your Grandfather that was there also? I think we spoke about this on here years ago but it may be someone else.
  4. I completely missed this was even happening. Tickets go on sale for the UK shows tomorrow. I'll come out of mourning the Big Man to attend the Sunderland show hopefully. http://www.brucespringsteen.net/live/index.html
  5. I'll buy the crash but I expect a £10 discount based on the amount of my cymbals you destroyed over the years.

    Pet Hates!

The pronounciation of the word 'wrath' as 'roth', irrespective of whether this is allegedly the correct pronounciation. People saying "these things come in threes". Some things do of course but it's not a rule of the universe. Someone I know will say this particularly if two perceived bad things have happened in a relatively close time. It will even be 'proved' when the next bad thing happens even if it's a month later.
  7. You Sir, are a leg end. Thanks for the heads up.

I know a few offshore workers who spend all of their onshore time drinking so maybe this is the balance...
  9. I'd like to think we can do some giant killing in the cup next season and penalty kicks are the staple of all giant killing stories. The shock of the round came at the Falkirk Stadium where First Division Aberdeen knocked out the SPL's Falkirk on penalties with skipper Darren Mackie scoring the decisive spot kick to put the part timers through to a lucrative tie at St. Johnstone.
  10. Aberdeen have been in our opponent's box an average of once per game and no penalties! Central belt bias.
  11. My mate played at the Frankie Miller tribute event in Glasgow many years ago (it probably looked like he was on his way out hence the tribute). I assume the man himself was there. There's a great live version of Drunken Nights on the City on YouTube I assume you've seen? I've seen Wu, or at least I think I have, didn't think much, just a lot of men shouting RATM were great. I saw R Kelly too.....on MTV lol!
  12. I was enjoying this also - particularly the ones who I'm not really a big fan of. Oh yeah, I've seen them (I think I have anyway), didn't really think much of them. I've seen most of my favourites who are still alive and I've also seen a Nirvana tribute act. I would also like to see Tom Petty so we should really all write to his booking agent. Other than that I have been listening a lot to a fella called Todd Snider recently and would love to see him live - think I'll get onto my friends at Vocoustics for that one. I need to see Eels too. I did physically see them at T in the Park before I was an Eels obsessive but in my drug induced state I decided that the band that had taken the stage wasn't Eels and I needed to go outside and chew my own face for a couple of hours. I then had a ticket to see them last year but couldn't go for personal reasons.
  13. ...or move to the Championship and stop gettting a game.

    Pet Hates!

TL: DR but I did pick out "cofee audits" as, firstly a bewildering concept, and secondly a potential band name. My main pet hate is definitely people talking about coffee on the internet.

I hate people who hate people who drink coffee made from cocoa beans bought at a franchise but deposited into their own flasks in the mornings whilst outside in the cold who then proceed to drink instant for the rest of the day.

I'm man enough to admit the truth is that I just don't do much until 10, after I've drank a coffee.
  17. Scotland under 21s beat the Dutch 2-1 in their own back garden: http://www.uefa.com/under21/season=2013/matches/round=2000192/match=2006971/index.html Experts in youth coaching systems eh? Up yer orange arses. Mark Wotte was obviously the linchpin and he's ours now. £10 on us being reigning World and European Champions come 2018. The future's bright...
  18. While we're on the topic can you have a look at mine next time you're over? I put the skins from my old one onto that Premier one you gave me. It sounds like a bad fart.
  19. The moment you put the phone down having called in a 'sickie'
  20. It's a great feeling and it always makes me want to eat an orange. Post-hangover oranges are a treat.
  21. Every track that I listened to I was frantically trying to find the window that I'd left open that was playing different music. Is there an out of time church bell at the start of "White Walls and Golden Shores" or have my ears gone mad? I assume the melody is a conscious parody of Depeche Mode's "Just can't get enough"? In summary, I think you need to work on your skills as a producer...
  22. Idiocracy – Mike Judge’s comedy about a ‘regular joe’ soldier who gets frozen for 500 years and wakes up to find the world has de-evolved into slobbering morons and he is the most intelligent human on the planet. I’ve been chuckling all day. (Merci to Pierre for recommending this many months back)
  23. I'm sure I read an Uncut review which gave five stars to an album of Bob Dylan's farts. They have their untouchable favourites, maybe Reed is in the club. Mojo gave Loutallica 4 stars and said "The shock in this collaboration is that it sounds savagely natural, as if Reed had made 1982's The Blue Mask with a heavier Rock'N'Roll Animal band, scoured of glam." Who knows, maybe this album will be considered before it's time. Perhaps society will be based on it in 1000 years a la Wyld Stallyns...
