That was a pish game last night. On that evidence everyone is overrated, except maybe the goalies. Bad touches, stray passes, positional errors, poor decision making. Henderson, Downing, Carroll and Adam were especially bad and therefore so were the Man City team for not being able to beat them.Two legs as well?! WHY?! WHHHYYY? Cardiff for the cup.

PES 2010 on the PS2. I have owned a PS2 for 10 years and the only game I have ever played is the Master League on PES. I'm even behind 2 versions which I'll buy in chronological order and play them until I'm too good on the hardest level.

Recently read Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt. Memoir of a childhood growing up in abject poverty and catholic confusion in Brooklyn and then Limerick in the 1930s/40s. As well as being a good read it gave me the expression “I couldn’t give a fiddler’s fart” which I’m now introducing to my everyday speech. I’m now reading A Week in December by Sebastian Faulks and am thoroughly enjoying it.

Well, I made my annual away trip yesterday to Tannadice and I must say I enjoyed it more than I've enjoyed a game in years. The atmosphere was of cup final quality. The first half we were actually pretty terrible and I couldn't see a goal coming at all but once we changed it in the second half we played some decent stuff. Not one for the football purists but the excitement of Chalali scoring with his first touch and then Arnason scoring that screamer made it an incredible experience. I thought that McArdle was great when he came on. He won everything and made a terrific block late on. On that performance he deserves a run at centre half. Onwards and upwards.

Once it's in the hands of the public who know's how it will develop. I'll start using it today. The weather's nae fine rare the day.

So, how would this be used? Is it an exclamation of pleasure? Does it describe something as good? Could it be interchangeable with “fit rare”, “nae bad”, “this is the life”? How do you expect it to be said? Have you thought about using the Doric gasp on the ‘fine’ and hitting the ‘rare’ on the exhale?

My girlfriend and many people I know had the winter vomitting virus but I managed to avoid it through thorough hand washing, sleeping on the sofa bed for 3 nights and being made of steel. It's a real relationship tester when you're asked to bring a bucket to the bathroom for a "both ends" emergency. We passed. It must be love.

I personally love it. You sometimes encounter multiples in a rapid fire style too, aaaaaye-haye-haye-haye-haye-haye, where one inhalation is divided into short, sharp blasts.
