  1. I agree. I've used UK bought pedals abroad with 110v adaptors with no problem. enjoy the cash!
  2. Why don't you like the DSL. It should do everything you want, and the 40watt combo's a cracker!
  3. I still really want that 'thing' I just can't justify it without getting rid of something else first.
  4. I like the Hendrix and SRV versions best. The G3 version showed some great skills.......but, and here's what I see it as, it looked like a second rate boy or girl band in that they ALL had to have a twiddle at it, just like the aforementioned band types all have to sing a verse etc, even if it makes no contribution to the song. very techy though.
  5. If you are set on a Fender then let it be so I had a 52 RI which was really good. However why don't you try a Robin. I think they are very good guitars made to order for you.
  6. Competitive eh! Do you want an arm wrestle then?
  7. It least I got more responses to my last statement than I did when I tried to sell my Morley wah pedal. BTW Hog...regarding SOH.....I must have a VGSOH to continue to read some the twittering rantings that get posted on this site. SpanishArmanda....Ooooh yes I know guitarists very well indeed. I've even been known to pick one up myself in the past. I've played along with one in the past that thought he was the mutant son of Pete Townsend and Jimmy Page. I agreed that his face was a picture of, well a picture of something, but I thought his playing was nae bad. I respect guys that learn to play guitar to a higher standard then myself....me I can't be bothered learing anything past 'Rockaway Beach' or at a push 'God save the Queen' and no, not the version they play in your local British Legion at the end of the night. Hey Ho lets go!!
  8. For the fear of getting ripped to shreads I can't see the problem with his playing. Ok the gurning a bit on the wrong side of Gary Moore's classic rubber faced exploits. I've noticed a few times on this site that folk take the piss out of guys on you tube etc. In most cases the playing is pretty good, if not to my tastes. Why do people do this, is Aberdeen full of magical guitar players, if so let me know and I will come along and see you sometime. And if you are better than the guys on here that get torn to shreds, I will pay to get in and see you again.
  9. Go Kittys Go! Ain't nothing wrong with the name. Keep Twangin' Bri PS, I'll catch up with you lot later.
  10. "inclinded to think that because 90% of people are dicks ( this percentegage rises to about 99% in Aberdongle if you figure in oil money) i assume that 90% of people on this board are also numbnuts." What a twatish comment. Where are your facts to back that up? Is it the fact that some people work in the oil industry and earn money from that (which by the way in not as much smackeros as you might think these days) or is it just that some have money full stop? If so it seems you must have came in to some money lately. I've been listening to music and playing it for longer than a lot of people on these forums have been walking upright and I see a lot of dodgy comments being made by these people. That does not make dicks or numbnuts, it just makes them human. Wise up!
  11. 30 quid for the Morley, it's been gigged but still sounds good. Only sold it to get a Budda Wah.
  12. Sound Control in Glasgow (West End) has a new one for 35 quid:up:

I can't see past Wizard Pickups. The guy Andy is so helpful. He makes the pickups to suit what you want.....just don't ask for active ones. You should hear/see what he can do with P90's:up:
  16. Geezo, this is going on a bit. If you are stuck give me a pm and the pots and I'll fit it for you. that's if you are not miles away from my house.

    Help!

So I can't see what the problem is. The Custom you have looks nice. Black Customs must rate pretty high in the 'cool as ferk' guitar list. As I say I have 3 LP's. 2002 lightburst 56 gold top RI 1980 CSB Custom. I bought them because when I was growing up (chance would be a fine thing) my guitar heros played them, and I thought they were the beez'neez. I have never regreted buying them one bit, and get great joy out of owning and playing them. Would I buy another one? I doubt it, it would need to be "cheap as chips" before I even considered it. Over the years I have come to realise there are as good as, if not better than, guitars out there for the money. As you say 3K for a RI is taking the pith. For all you guys out looking for a bargain take a look at 'Robin' guitars and tell me they are not as nice/cool as gibbos. Sorry if I have ranted a bit.

    Help!

I have three and like them all. Keep them and save, save, save for the other one. Don't get tempted by 'bargains' as this just puts your funds back to zero.

    Help!

'should retain it's value better than the standard' I don't know about that, not with replacement pups
  20. Is this wise or what.?( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180030907204&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=180030763986&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget
  21. I think so to. Better than a Cry Baby IMO. Maybe it's the vintage vibe thang!
