  1. That looks mint next to mine;)
  2. I suppose most people would be like me and buy it for the sound and not the looks.
  3. I've fancied a Matamp 1224 head for years. I've tried loads of other stuff, as do most people, but always seem to be left wanting. At present I love the Vox hence why I will keep one of them. The Matamp is along the same lines (1 channel) but is a bit more flexible sue to it having a foot switch to 'switch' in different gain stages. IE between it's high and low input stage and a gain boost. It's very clever and I'm not going to kid you on by making you think I know how it works...it just does;) The sound is very nice indeed, and it is very receptive to picking force etc. It's not like a Marshall or a Boogie. It's not a high gain amp. it does what it does very nicely. Plus the pre/after sales service is second to none. http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar+Amp/product/Matamp/1224+Head/10/1 http://www.matamp.co.uk/
  4. I have two AC30's both over 40 years old. They sound great, but are the scruffiest things you will ever see. One is tan has no handles left and the badge has gone walk about. The grill is ok, but the cover is scuffed and torn. The other is a black one it has two handles...wow! but is still scuffed and torn. My question is Should I get them refinished to get them looking good again? I will only be keeping one of them so is it worh spending the money to get them done up? I'm interested in what other guitar/amp users think about this. If you got the chance of an amp like this, would you pay a lot more for a refinished tidy one than you would for scruffy one? cheers.
  5. If the unbranded ones are ok, just get another set of those and save moneys. I like those plastic twist-lock types ones, as you don't need to change your guitar strap button....unless you have a PRS of course. Levys straps are good but can get a bit pricey.
  6. Lucky sod! I'm still a bit 50-50 about getting one. My Vox is sounding ace just now, so not really sure what to do.
  7. Are you selling because you got your new Matamp????
  8. Sorry couldn't make it...coz of vodka frenzy in the sticks. I hope it was a good one. http://www.redcortinas.piczo.com/?cr=1&rfm=y
  9. The mics are fine. A bit of a bargin in fact. cheers Brian
  10. Ah! what a lovely smell of burning pocket!!
  11. I think there is nothing wrong with that. If your fav guitarist uses a LP why not buy one. It goes for anything really, football boots darts snooker cues etc, etc.
  12. OK the mic's look good to me. 15 is a good price. So I'll def have them
  13. I'lll take the beyer if you still have it.

Has anyone out there got a Bradley Roadrunner combo for sale?
  15. Ah!! Ladies and gentlemen, here we see the dawning of a new myth. Soon it will grow to be huge, and you will be unable to buy into the myth for love nor money. Ebay will soon have a few of these mythical creatures on their site, all going of mega money of course because they are the last of a dying breed. I've heard the same said about nearly every model from Marshall, plexi, bluesbreaker, 1959, 1989, 800's and now 900's. If you care to wait, you will find the same said for DSL's and TSL's etc. However, by that time the mythical giant 900, will be an icon in the marshall legend.
  16. It could be to vol pot needing cleaned out. I would try this before getting stuck in with the soldering iron. Give it a squirt with electrical cleaning fluid. Then throw it down the stairs to ensure the fluid gets right into the pot.
